The more money you have on the hook the less flexibility you have. The problem we have with trading some of these guys….owe too much future money. Fletch would be tradeable otherwise. Lane. But nope…we just keep pushing everything forward. Governments all do the same thing with their debt. Plenty of people do it with their credit.  So I’m sure you enjoy our national debt and think it really helps us in the future. I think it’s becoming crippling.

Sure the cap goes up. And to sign anybody then do you think prices will go down? No….the cap inflation pretty well reflects the salary inflation. But sure pay in 2024 when you hope for us to be good for play in a 2 win season. Makes sense to you. To me it’s ignorant!

We're playing for 2022????? We already suspected THIS season was toast didn't we????

I thought Hurts intangibles were going to lead us to post season

False,it depends how the contract is worded

No other teams do this, only the Eagles 😆

Cox play has fallen off. Cox who normally is quiet has aired that he's not happy with Gannon. So of course trade the "trouble maker" and leave Gannon to take down the rest of them. This is the problem with this team

The usual Rosie Magic….pay two and three years from now for this year’s play. Have a crappy team now….but we’ll handicap 2023 to be this crappy.

This one was different,  very different from the norm.   Was excellent explanation of the impact on the restructure and gave the 3 scenarios.... where Cox gets cut/ traded after the season, during next summer or after 2022.

The main thing is it opened up the trade or post June move where the Eagles don't get killed with the dead cap.   The pushing of the money is only in the event Cox plays here the next 2 seasons.  Basically got Mailata and Sweat signed while giving better flexibility with Cox.  Looking at it, I think he is done here after this year.

Personally,if Lurie has any balls left he will fire Gannon after we lose tomorrow.

He'll fire Howie

I fixed it for you

That vid was interesting

Dude knows his stuff.... way way more complicated than any other contract I've seen.  You know by looking at it, it's designed to lessen the dead cap hit for a trade/ release.

Too complex for my last brain cell lol

Because guess when their pay kicks in

You didn't watch the video... per usual.

I’m going to go out on a limb and state that Hurts balls out this game. Think he scores three TDs.

They did the same thing with the Sweat and Mailiata deals

You understand how this lessons our future abilities though, right? If ok to be terrible….but at least pay your big guys now AND clear cap room to roll forward. Such a simple concept I’ve been preaching for so many years.

Actually this particular restructure gives more flexibility... it's why it's best to pay attention instead of always pretending to be smarter than everyone.

If there is ANY game left we can win it's this one

We can still dream, can't we?

I was referring to Mailata and Sweat contracts. The normal Rosie stuff. But ok….I’ll watch the video about Cox and address that now.

He may,the sad part is Goff will cut up our lame secondary because we'll have no pass rush  24-21 Lions in OT

🤣 It's all we have as Eagles fans

If your contending with an ARod or Brady….sure…push things forward. But understand if you push things forward when you suck….your contending window shrinks when you actually get good. Because you already pushing everything forward. Do it the way I’m saying and you can really keep that window open. Or just push all this cap money to 2023 and 2024 for last years 4 win team and this year’s 2 win team.

How would you do it , with the rolling cap system...to where you could have extended Mailata and Sweat?

I need to hear this answer.  Because you won't use any numbers.. just theory, which won't work.

Watch the video...educate yourself on the cap.  Otherwise stick to " calling"  college prospects.

We have NP scoring(aka slopping out) 20-24 points. The problem is we need to score 35 lol

39 minutes ago, GreenbleedinNC said:

Because by 2024 the salary cap will be 240 milliion(estimated) and I'm sure they will restructure them both before then

Or cut one or both...or trade.

The problem is we only score after the other team has sealed the game away

It is rolling cap. So you have to be doing it. We are so deep now in pushing forward it’s becoming near impossible. But I would have traded people whatever to clear cap AND pay my better players on this year’s cap. Don’t care if we suck and don’t field a competitive team…..wait we are doing that anyway.

How do you pay your players on this year's cap?    Give an example using #s.
