That's not quite what I meant. Pickett to me screams a team like the Steelers or the Saints. They need a QB but they have a legit defense. What they need is a QB to just be good, not elite but good. I think Pickett can be that, he can be good but I'm not sure elite.

I think others have elite traits, I'm not sure Pickett does. But hey I could be wrong.

Elite traits what is consider elite traits lol arm strength…. Corral might have a great arm but so did JaMarcus Russell… Not sure what one considers as elite traits. 
 

Watching Brees, Brady, Herbert, Watson(who I was completely wrong on talent wise) Wilson, idk after watching so many QBs not sure what elite traits are anymore I’ll take a guy that is consistent and accurate over the wow play guy.

Armstrong carries the entire Virginia offense pretty much ALONE. They lose games because their defense SUCKS. He has NO running game, his WR's are mediocre. His contract was restructured to where he can be traded for less cap hit post June 2022.   I think that is when something happens.

Corral has a really strong arm, he's got great accuracy, he's a competitor and he makes plays with his feet. I'm not saying that means he's going to be elite but they are the traits of someone who could be.

Every spot needs to be filled,  take thr best player each time.  Worry about spots in 2 years.

Except we've been doing that for 4 years to no avail. Also Howie doesn't know what "best" means. How quickly the SB team dissipated and were replaced by overpaids,or bad draft choices. WR and RB are in fair shape now,TE has never been a problem for us(so why cant the TE staff develop WR's too????). If you want to seriously rebuild you have to target your position players and catch them before they fall. Like I would have NP taking Neal at OT to replace Lane. You need to plan ahead more than 1 year. I would look at some G's also and weed out the worst ones and we know CB and LB are annual issues Howie fails to address. But we will see if he is serious or just "gaming" because this is a good draft for those 2 positions. if he ignores those 2 positions with all that talent available there,we will have our answer and if he is a gamer,he will be exposed in this draft and Lurie should see it. Some nice edge rushers in here also. As we know our defense is based on getting to the QB and we aren't seeing that now either. Trade Barnett. We need to draft some people with FIRE and maybe a little "attitude" because right now we aren't intimidating anyone. Kelce needs replaced. if he chooses not to retire, we still should replace him anyway or we're going to revisit the JP scenario. We have drafted C's and moved them to G,and while that is fine (not my preference), it's NOT fine if you have no bodies to replace the C. Yeah we have 5 guys "that could do it" I don't want 5,I want the ONE who is top notch,not 5 G's who can "fill in" and while I love the swiss army types,you can't have a whole team of them,so I am hoping Howie does the right thing and gets the guys we need.
