IDK I remember the fridge.everyone knew what was coming and still couldn't stop him. I think trucking some guys would put a smile on his face

Fridge ran behind the starting OL.. which Mailata is a part of as the best run blockers.

When did you ever see anyone tackle diving at the knees in rugby?   They don't have pads, they tackle differently.

No matter,he carries guys or runs them over.He would mow them down before they could reach his knees. I guess you are against innovation and with you the Philly Special never would have happened

OH we have noone to sub and block for him(like Dillard?) There,I found a use for Dillard lol

When we got Mail,I figured he would be a TE lol(see Gronk)

Who run blocks better than him?  Why would you take him away from that?  For me, I want my best blockers blocking on every play.   That's not innovation or tricking the defense by giving someone in the backfield the ball.

You own the bar, do you put your biggest and best bouncer by the bathroom or at the front door.  Mailata belongs in the trenches where he physically dominates.

Whatever happened to that rugby all star that played for the 49ers?  Just curious?

Jebus Joe we're talking about ONE freakin PLAY-ONE at a special moment-ONE PLAY!!! Not 5 times a game  lol

I put the bouncer by the bathroom when the trouble maker goes in there so I can toss him out the back door

Mongo Mailata

You know what was fun... watching a young OT block 2 guys with one arm each.  You know what is more fun... watching him keep doing it while the guys we pay to carry the ball run behind him.

If he is unstoppable, then he should be able to push guys in the end zone even better when he doesn't have to worry about carrying the ball.

They don't hit low in rugby

Joe, Actually most tackles are below the waist in Rugby, So, yes they do hit low in Rugby. It is actually illegal to hit high due to no helmets.

Anyway, We are going no where.... again lol Biggest RB I can remember is Brandon Jacobs. Think he was 6-4 or 6-5....?

He was a beast up the middle in his prime.....

OK, on to the next subject........

I have never seen a RB get hurt in this manner running straight up the gut behind blockers. I am fairly certain we will never see it either. Those low tackles happen off tackle and on sweeps to the outside where there is no one to block in front of you.....

Didnt Leonard Weaver career get ended running up the guy behind blockers vs the Packers…

He went off tackle to the left. Play was designed to go right but he switched direction and got smashed in the knee....

I am talking straight up the gut. No misdirection stuff....

He hop and went right behind a guard seems like a weak claim that guys don’t get hurt going up the middle when Leonard went up the middle….

Really it’s the nfl it only takes one shot to hurt a guy… Now do I think that maialta would get hurt on a single carry up the gut if we opted to do it once no but to say it can’t or won’t happen mmmm

Height seems pretty pointless in a RB the best ones tend to be on the shorter side better center of gravity. Jacobs was a decent RB but extremely short lived career had a good like 3-4 year window.

idk I’d take the the 5’10-6ft 220 pound guy over a 6’4 250 guy any day. Hell even Derrick Henry who I think is hands down the best RB in football right now not sure how long he last being 6’3 240

Of Course!  He can get hurt playing Tackle too. More likely IMO then running behind the center for one yard. I really cannot remember the play on leonard so I will have to agree with you. What I read was what I wrote. Anyway, it won't happen so no use in talking about it.....

I just watched it again and he was running left off tackle, not straight up the gut. So he was not going up the middle.... Just an FYI

Taylor just can’t stay healthy. Really been fighting it all season. LB picture is murky.

They " hit" low in rugby?    Hit...like hit not tackle / grab.... but actually dive with using their shoulders and head like they do in football, at a guys legs?  Cleary you can show me some film on that?

Tackle.. is different than " hit"

As Buddy Ryan used to say about Wes Hopkins... he can hit but he isn't  good tackler.    I'm not concerned about Mailata getting tackled... I'm concerned with him getting hit.   It's different,  ask Gronk.

I would be interested in getting Master Teague-RB-OSU if we can snag him late. I don't want to spend a high pick on a RB

Except the trouble starts after they are already in and had one too many,or do you just boot everyone at the door?
