How many targets dod Goedert and Smith get in the last 2 drives?

Hint: It was less than 1

Seemed like they had Bradbury on Goedert a fair amount. Anybody else notice this?

They doubled downfield towards the sidelines.

In addition the safety almost stepped in front on the weak throw up the middle between the weak throw to Goedert and the last Reagor drop,  so there was another double team there.   Doubles everywhere.

I’ve been thinking about something Joe Banner tweeted the other day: Something to the effect of "No team has ever won a Super Bowl with a quarterback who’s a better runner than passer.” That is true.

This is breaking news?

It was a quote from Reuben frank just interesting to finally hear some national guys bring it up

So how didn't we get the ball to Goedert,or How didn't we adjust to throwing passes to RB's out of the backfield? if there are doubles everywhere SOMEONE had to be OPEN,unless like I said they had 18 guys on defense

100%.... my thing here is people blaming thr coach for this.... which is stupid.   You gave the #s... we ran it more than passing it... if we need to run 75% of the time, we have the wrong QB and WRs.  This is on them.  Plenty of teams put up 30 points while passing more than running... if we need to run 3/4 of the time to score more than 7... that not coaching.

I partly agree Joe. Thing I have an issue with is the Coach needs to call more plays to his Play makers. Calling Reagor's number was a mistake both times! Hurts rarely goes thru more than one read so make sure that read is for Goddert or Smith! Heck I would even have called Watkins over Reagor. Hurts had a bad game. I am not even going there. But the coach did not help his cause Sunday IMO. If I were to Eval Hurts right now(Which is not fair yet) I would compare him to Tim Tebow.... Great person. Good leadership and running abilities... Can't throw with authority and accuracy for a long pass.....

I agree except for, yeah. it's fair now to bash Hurts. I see no progress or growth, same QB we saw last year. After Reagor comments brushing off his drops, he can KMA. I don't want losers on my team who don't care and now I am 100% in on getting his replacement in this next draft. We've coddled this loser long enough.

Threw both passes at the end very accurately. Like a fifty yard pass that hit Reagor in the face mask.

Just don’t agree on the one read situation. Think the Gmen figured out our main route combinations here. He was looking around plenty. Reagor played less snaps than Quez. So Reagor wasn’t the call, focus or first read much. Still think Hurts went to him like eight times. Watkins five.

Don’t win? Hurts put several TD passes on the money. They catch it….we win. Just that simple.

You do realize this was the Giants, Right? Sure, if someone makes a play we win. But if Hurts only has 2 INTs we win also... IF he makes the proper reads once and hits Smith or Quez when they were wide open, we win. Bottom Line is Hurts played like crap. Sure there were other players that added to the loss. But the QB needs to make the plays and he didn't

Hurts is 1 read. That's the explanation for not seeing WIDE open guys. Please

Reagor was targeted 7 times. Watkins was targeted 5 times. Smith was targeted 4 times. Goddert was targeted 3 times. So..... You think Hurts was looking at 2 reads? You really think Smith never got open? You need to watch the game again my friend.....

Hint-we're not beating the Wuss either,we may win our 2nd game vs the gnats. Thats win 6 which was my prediction and I see no wins after that

Reagor is "Howies boy" He was drafted over JJ because Howie has a friend who was a friend of Reagors coach(from what others have said). If that's the case Lurie should have fired Howie right there, but no,this team is just a toy for Lurie. I don't think he even cares as long as the loot rolls in

What's sad to me is we have playmakers all over the field and a QB who can't find them.

We can't afford a QB who takes 57 minutes to find his groove

Mmmm heard that Smith was the first read Hurts decided to go Reagor on at least one of the final plays… Hard to say what Siri is calling and what hurts is doing clearly the pass game is not where we want it as a team

Stine, the QB throws to the player he thinks is open.   BG posted about the snap count.   It' s why your QB needs to be a decision maker and thrower before being a good runner.

And reagor played less snaps then all those guys yet was targeted more???? Something not adding up

I don't get the issue people have... 7 targets?   Guys get that in the first quarter.   The bigger picture is running the ball 33 times and passing it 24 before the last drive only got us 7 points???   It's 2021... not going to win unless you can pass the ball.

I haven't seen it but i hear Smith was wide open on the sideline for Reagors second drop.

If i find a video i'll post the link

In fairness to Reagor... he was open on the deep ball that was underthrown... would have had opportunity for a TD with a legit NFL arm.  That was the proper read by Hurts, regardless of staring him down the whole time.... the issue was the ball being severely underthrown.   A good throw there and we double our points to 14 and win.    The weather will be getting colder and tougher to throw, the good news is our running QB should be tougher to tackle in the colder weather.   Be curious to see if teams overplay the read option with some tight coverage on the outside for the screens.   The shallow crosses should lead to some broken tackles now too.

But whatever works will be 100% QB and what doesn't will be the coaches fault..... 1289

Joe, I was just comparing targets to the best 2 options vs the others. Big difference and that is a problem. Hurts completed less than 50% of his passes. Another huge issue. Yes there were drops, but there are drops every game. 3 INTs in 31 attempts? Either his decision making is poor or his pre snap reads or the plays called or maybe a little of all.... Anyway, Giants were a team the Eagles should have beaten. Jets are better than the Giants IMO. We could be looking at 3 losses in a row here....

In his presser, Siri explained, that Smith and Watkins were on crossers. But Watkins didn’t run it properly. Let Bradbury flatten out the route. So the initial check was Goedert. The way they played things that read was squashed. Bradbury was allowed to squeeze out Smith’s route. So we are down to read three….maybe four going to Reagor. So these fools that don’t watch and think Hurts only is a one read QB aren’t paying attention. You can question the playcall. But those two WR crossing was not executed. So Hurts made it happen….except Reagor dropped it.

Check on the pressers sometimes. They occasionally fill you in on a specific play….or let you in on that the QB audibles us out of a bad call. Good to know the full dynamics going on as much as possible. We’ll never know everything. Would just hope we are more educated than just pointing at one guy for everybodies mistakes.

The ball he jumped way up in the air to drop? That underthrown ball. So underthrown it was really high type thing?
