1. Do you think Pickett will fall that far?

2. Taking DT so late when Cox is on the down trend and Hargrave in his last year...do you have another solution?

3. Same for DE- cupboard starts to get bare...

4. I'm guessing we make use of our player development strong in CB development for taking secondary later.

5. Given this thinking, why not take WR later if Sirianni and co. can develop them to be just as good? The coaches seemed to dominate the last draft, surely Siri would not whiff on a WR?

Not law just an attempt lol. My DT and DE are both good players that need a little coaching,we have time for that. I have no clue where Pickett goes. Alot of teams will be looking at the off season FA QB's(Wilson,Arod, maybe Garapolo) And I suspect the top edge rusher will go at 1 and Stingley (CB) will go early as well as the top LB, thats at least 3 picks gone in 10. I have no clue what the remaining 6 teams do before us and these picks could change anyway

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2022/consensus-big-board-2022   Here is the COMPOSITE board(average position from 30 of the top mock sites). SO who knows? According to this place Pickett is at 8. If that holds it's not tough to move up 2 with the draft ammo we have IF IF IF that's the way we wanted to go. BTW I really like LEAL if we go that route.

Match- try a 6 round mock(we don;t have a round 7 as of now) and see what you come up with. Need D badly, but if a top WR is there it's hard to pass up. Burkes at WR would be fine with our last 1 pick. I have no clue what's in Howie's head(IDK if he does either lol)

We drafted Williams and Jackson last year also( DT/DE) so it's not like we didn't get some guys in here. IDK how they are coming along. Can't hurt to add more,so I see your point. Howie better get S,CB and LB addressed(always ignores these guys)

It's so great, 50 years from now... "remember that 2021 Eagles team"  Will be huge part of Eagles folklore!   Right next to the 2011 defense " built to play with a lead"

Nobody is going to remember this team, period.

I know that successful teams have to have solid role players and good backups. Not every player can be a pro bowler. So I was thinking about the true starters and if I were the GM, who are stalwarts (keepers) and who needs to "be replaced” for improvement. How many "keepers” do you count?
Offense: I have Mailata, Kelce, Johnson (absolute strength of this team), Goedart, and MAYBE Smith.

Defense: Cox, Graham ( depending on how he recovers), Slay, and because I love his effort and seems to ALWAYS be around the football, I will even keep Singleton.

Special Teams: Elliott and snapper

Excluding snapper and considering 24 starters, that’s 4 1/2 on offense, 3 1/2 on defense, and 1 on ST.  The 1/2s are depends on Graham and not sure on Smith. Call it 9 of 24 starters are keepers. To me, that is not good. What exacerbates this issue exponentially is that the QB (the key guy) is not one of them. No, not everybody can have Mahomes. I get that. It was just an interesting exercise. I’m sure others will disagree and thats ok.

Sen... my main issue,  that I don't think a lot of people get.   Your list is good.  Look at the age of those players.  How many will be here in 2023?    Not only do we need to build from this group... we gotta replace most of your list.   Could very easily get worse before it gets better.

I like your list. Great post/exercise. However, I've seen enough of Gainwell that I would add him to the list.

Not many. The team was strapped for cash thanks to Wentz’ contract so they couldn't add significant young talent for this year. Which means they better hit in the draft in a BIG way, and they would be stupid to waste those three high picks on ONE guy…a QB. There are too many holes needing addressed. Find OLine and DLine talent to mold before you lose your current "keepers”.

If the biggest hole on your team is at QB the other players dont matter. So you're saying if we got Arod, our WR's wouldn't instantly be better?

We got Jackson(Taron) Williams(DT,DE) and Dickerson(O line) so IDK what you mean about we got noone in here. Howie always ignores CB and LB,I dont expect that to change this year either

The idea is to improve every position every year(if possible), that's why I am absolutely NOT against taking a WR if he is the best player on the board. If it's a QB take the pick!!! That was Howies thinking when he drafted Hurts, so it's a scouting/choice issue that needs fixed. How would this team look with Wentz, JJ and Smith right now? I think we would be putting up points

Role players…all of those guys.

By the way, I LOVE these two coaches tonight going for it on 4th down. I absolutely love it. Win or lose they are giving the PLAYERS the opportunity to win!

And I am soooo jealous of these two Young QBs. Just saying.

How do we know after limited playing time?Mailata was also a "role player" when we drafted him. Dickerson is playing a role? He seems to be a nice starting LG. We can';t know after 1 season with no playing time if we have Cox's replacement because noone is pulling Cox to find out. So if we find a better DE or DT than what we have by all means draft them. If it improves the position, I'm all for it(thats what rebuilding is)

Not saying that. That is a no brainer….to a point.

There are instances of teams that made it far without a superstar at QB, but I will say that it matters a lot more in today’s game.

Cunningham, you want the wins and playoffs for this team really bad. So IF (and I’ve made it clear I dont see it happening) they do make it, they go in to play the 2nd seed at their stadium. A team that in years past would have earned a bye. Do you REALLY think THIS Eagles’ team could compete? Playoff game where they let the players play! This group of young WRs would get manhandled making the passing game completely irrelevant and 8 in the box to make sure the run game wouldn’t work much either. It would be embarrassing so I’m sticking with NO CHANCE.

Role players, backups "like my profile says I am”. Haha.  Meaning my opinion doesnt mean much. 😳
