Our secondary really seems to be coming into there own we definitely need to get younger though. Since Gannon has been finding his footing as a DC the secondary play has improved Slay is having a pro bowl caliber season

Really love to keep Slay and add gardner and Brisker at S,that is a massive upgrade. So my choices are Pickett, gardner(someone else at a lower 1 by trading down the 11). The lower 1 could be a WR,LB or lineman, still leaves both 2 picks

Of course you need a trade partner, but I know of no team that wouldn't want to move up to 11 if they are past 20. Easy to trade with a QB needy team, but we don't know who that is yet. Depends on who goes after FA QB's in my view

LMFAO why put the QB thru hell when you can put up 170 from ONE guy on the ground and save wear and tear on your QB for the playoffs?? Looks to me like they are playoff bound with their QB general running things on the field

The difference.  He can still get his team more than 7 points when they are able to run the ball.

This is the part I don't get from dope fans here.  Dude has proven EVERY time his team runs the ball fairly well, that he can put up points.  That piece of the puzzle was done.  You had ownership who clearly didn't want to play that way.   You had media spin that " it was the selfish QB audible out of run plays?"     How dumb of a fan do you have to be to buy all that stuff.

Simple concept.... get players and win.  When you have some, add at other positions.  Not really hard, you need better than Josh Adams and Travis Fulgham.

Yep simple stuff. I don't think Hilton is 100%, he may never be again and Pascal was booted from that game(thats what i read I didn't get to see the game). IDK what the lead was when that happened, but nice to have a reliable running game

Just need the intangibles like Jalen Hurts players don’t matter if you have that…. If Wentz had those intangibles guys wouldn’t drop passes miss blocks nothing

BTW 93 picked Pickett first. I had Ridder. I have since gotten on the Pickett train(also a Willis fan-his deep ball accuracy is impressive) Either works for me. I lik them both better than Corral

Hilton was a bad signing by them.  He really has contributed nothing and probably won't the rest of the way.

Don't forget the missed kicks too!

Hilton had alot of promise, the constant injuries remind me of another guy I liked Perriman, who still plays, but not the star power he could have had barring injury. I suspect they will be in the market for additional WR weapons

Also forgot that the defense won’t blow leads

I see us taking Pickett and Carolina taking Howell-both homers (although they would be better off taking a chance with Willis)

Watched the Willis game intently. Willis was dazzling(so was their running game), but you still have to consider he is in an easier league and no chance to see what he does against a top big school,so that makes it more difficult. But he made the throws look easy and his 30+ yard accuracy was simply amazing

Can we just take a moment to talk how insanely good Justin HERBERT has been in his short career.

Gets drafted in the Covid year no real offseason(the thing we love to use as an excuse for Hurts) on a bad team with a bad HC throws for over 4k and 30 TDs only 11 ints as a rookie then comes in year two every says he will regress already at 4K 30+ tds 12 ints

This isn’t even talking how he has a new HC and OC, how he hasn’t had the same OC in 6 years going back to his college days and all the injuries that have plagued the Chargers

The thing with QB is that it's all relative.   Does the league really matter if he doesn't have the edge in all the positions around him.    Like, if he doesn't have his OL or WR have big advantages,  it still comes down to his ability to put up points with his team.

Like on the flip side, you could say that he is going against top CBs,  but if he's throwing to a Jerry Rice and Randy Moss, he still has an advantage.

Guys from small schools also play with inferior talent, not just against it.

Howell seems to be quite well liked in nfl circles from the early things I’ve read even with his so-so season this year. Wouldn’t be shocked if we have interest in him he was the other QB playing when howie went to watch.

Though we all know how I feel about Pickett lol

You take a talented QB and you put weapons around him.  No reason not to have success.

But that the big thing the weapons aren’t all that great for Herbert or they been hurt… Rookie year Ekeler missing 6 games, Allen missing two games leave couple early dealing with nagging injuries, Hunter Henry stayed hurt, OL is nothing special.

I'll take those weapons. You see some of the catches those dudes have been making.  Some nice physical players at that WR spot for them.  RBs absolutely solid too, in addition to Eckler.

I'm not downplaying Herbert... more so a comment on our front office failing to do these things.

Oh I like the Chargers weapons Keenan Allen is one of my favorite WRs in the game just stating what Herbert has done without those guys makes it even more impressive

True. Willis made the plays he had to often against bad odds lol. Terrific accuracy deep and has the legs to scramble and he made plays on the run. I was impressed with him

Carolina picks at 8 I believe (as of now) IDK what they think, but we may have to move to get Pickett from them at 8. Hard to see the future

Yeah I like either Pickett or Willis . Either is an upgrade and both have the potential to be franchise types

Really want to talk consistency on judging QBs… Wentz will throw for 300 yards 3 tds give his team a 17 point lead that will get blown by the D and you will blame him for the lose…. Yet Hurts will throw for 129 yards 3 ints only score 7 points on offense and you want to blame Reagor

Reagor dropping two great balls that would be game winning TDs at the end is his fault. He was targeted eight times and caught two balls. But sure….let’s blame the QB. He not only should have hit the receiver in the hands…..he needs to catch it for him too. If I was QB throwing to Reagor….I’d run it also.

Taking a fantasy risk and benching DJ Moore for Higgins. I think Denver will have to DT or make added provisions vs Chase and Higgins should benefit. Hope it turns out like  I want lol

Definitely nice to have what should be the MVP carrying the offense
