Him being down for the year has nothing to do with next year this man has 98 catches and 1100 yards gladly take that kind of production to pair with Smith

Right, let's keep drafting older players with injury histories. Worked great last time we did it eh? You want to pay this guy(or any top WR) 15 million for 50 yards per game? 😆 What possible reason would he have for wanting to play here anyway? I'll draft top WR's, if they get hurt, that costs me nothing. BTW JJ put up that production on the cheap, Smith could too if we had a QB. With Hurts-Godwin would have to be the first read on every play to make what you spent worthwhile(since we only have a 1 read QB). Before I take and spend on a top WR I want my QB in place first. if he gets through another year(next year) injury free then I would consider it, but now is not the time IMO

Godwin is 25 two years older then smith like dude isn’t even old lol.
As for spending money we have to spend money at some point you just not going to pay Smith when the time comes because he is older and we can draft cheaper options???? Logic makes no sense if we are going to spend money spend more money on good players entering there prime.

As for 15m for 50 yards a game we haven’t had a 1000 yard WR since 2014… And Godwin was getting 78.5 yards a game 1100 yards in 14 games.

https://www.si.com/nfl/buccaneers/news/tampa-bay-buccaneers-will-chris-godwin-move-on-from-bucs-in-2022  Nope, not worth the risk to me right now without a hot QB in place and without knowing if he comes back as the same WR. I would avoid signing him to a 5 year deal at this point. That's just me and who decided to pick Godwin over any other FA WR? If we were a 11 win team with SB aspirations, that's different, but we aren't close to that and I see no need to break the bank now trying the dream team approach which we already failed at

Right and you think Hurts will give him 1000 yards? I want smith and another young gun to get the 1000 yards.Costs nothing

because he has a pocket passing QB lol

Smith has 700 yards(701). He could have 1000 if we had the right QB. Draft another WR to pair with him and they can both get 1000 yards on the cheap(see Evans and Godwin), so why would I pay 16 million for the same production? Makes no sense to me(it's the QB not the WR that is the problem)

The good thing about moving this to Tuesday is that I get to see the game  😁

Lmao what does having a good WR in smith and having a good WR in Godwin have anything to do with each other we can have both lol.

Evans is making top WR money and they got Godwin on the cheap didn’t hurt there production… At some point you have to pay good players. To me it doesn’t matter if it is Godwin in FA or Smith in 5 years or another WR we draft.

If I can get Godwin who consistently gets 1000 yards a season who is only 25 in his prime I’ll take that any day of the week

This game will be intereting

So unless your plan is to never pay a WR and just keep redrafting why does it matter which WR we pay as long as they are good

Why can't i draft another Smith and get the same production without spending 16 million?

That's a great plan if you have the scouts and draft picks every year. Eventually you have to pay someone because those run out

Great plan, the plan we should have used after the SB, but not in a rebuilding year

So, Godwin 1000 yards, Smith 700 yards(would be 1000 with the right QB) and you want to pay 16 million for 300 yards-got it

Yea I’m perfectly fine paying for good players haven’t had 1000 yard WR since 2014. Godwin has 1100 yards in 14 games

Smith has 700 in 13 with a running QB,so once again you want to pay 16 million for 300 yards. Not me. I'll draft one of the 3 top WR's next draft and get the same production and pocket 16 million

Gametime!!!! We better put this QB on his arse!!!!

My prediction is Joe Webb 2.0

Crazy fluke int bouncing off Geodart heel

OY we aren't penetrating their O line, that will be a problem

That sack was because Hurts only does 1 read

Awesome catch by Smith

Nice mix of run/pass so far

Mmmmm Hurts needs to get rid of that ball or take off and run

Not sure if the fumble will stand or not though couldn’t tell if he was down before the ball came Out.

Either way not a great start vs our division rival

Mclaruin is a damn stud wish we could get a WR that can win jump balls

At the rate this game is going Hurts still won’t get his first win vs a divisional rival

Really ugly start ...why don't we just try to run the GD ball where is JH.
