Toney Romo said 11 wins others that thought 10 wins or more were thought to be delusional...Look at us now.🤐

Slow down bro HAHAHA. Secondary will always look great playing 3rds string QB's, so don't kid yourself- the holes are there. Gannon is like Schwartz, working with the miniscule talent the FO gives him. I'm glad we're playing 3rd string QB's because our vaunted pass rush is on vacation apparently. Run D is good as it usually is,so it's nice that we force 3rd string QB's to throw(and why we win games)

The safeties are serviceable, on the low end of average but they are vets that don't beat themselves.  Slay and Maddox are actually very good as #1 cb& slot.  Nelson plays exactly like a an NFL average #2 cb plays.  Put it together and this is not a weakness.

Sure,because we are playing 3rd string QB's

Gannon is doing Ok but don't sell the d short.  Staying healthy has been key and they don't have enough star players to make flashy plays consistemntly.  However, there is no glaring weakness on this D.  No black hole in the secondary, no LB you can attack all day, no sieve in the run D and they pressure up the middle as well as anybody.

I like the process Gannon displayed over the course of the season. Gannon's progression in how he utilized his players. My dislikes, I feel at times we were not aggressive enough and allowed to many non-starting type QB to gain confidence against the D, that made those games unnecessarily competitive. Now, was that because he was still learning the best way to use the talent he had inherited. How much of it was learning which strategy would work best against certain teams with which player. Against the more accomplished QB's he was ultra conservative and frustratingly, Not aggressive enough contributed to some of our early loses against established starters.

I like throughout the season the team played with competence, no breakdowns in time management players got on the field the mechanics of putting the D on and off the field was fluid No glaring snafus you expect to see with First Time Coordinators  I want to see year 2 with Gannon before he is anointed HC material. aA Draft under his belt, see what this D can become two years under his control. Still see Dynamic  Lb, S,  as a need.

I'm talking in a vacuum, what exactly do you not agree with?

You said our secondary has no holes and I disagree because we haven't played anyone with a top notch QB lately,so the numbers are padded. We just haven't been EXPOSED lately. I bet we get exposed vs Dullaz(if they play their guys)

Agree. I'm wondering if it's because our LB's and S's are not fast enough to blitz, because we seem to avoid that alot. So yep need at least 1 LB and a S. I'm going ahead and planning that we DON'T take a QB in the next draft(maybe a late one who is better then the #3 we have now). I thinkJoe was right,we need to see Hurts one more year before making a decision. Right now the running game is holding up the passing game. I also think thats why we signed Shew to a 2 year because we are going to give Hurts another year(CYA)

It kinda reflects our lack of ProBowl selections on the OL...Frankly I hope this OL responds to the SNUBS...Lane Johnson, s/b there.Mialata is another one, should we make it to the post season. I would expect they would like to let their peers know they sold our guys  a little short. We have the best Run blocking OL in the League.

Lane didn’t deserve it frankly. He was playing at that level early this season. Probably reflected in that he was having those mental problems. Stepped away from the game. Seems like he refocused and playing really well now though. Can’t give him an award for the whole season based on his play recently though.

You use words like "serviceable" and "average" How is that not a weakness? You are good if those 2 words disappear from your analysis

Define a hole then because you are making less sense with every explanation.  In the NFL a top passing game playing their top game isn't going to be stopped by any body.  It takes a top defense playing their A game to even slow them down.  Otherwise you are just looking for stops and maybe a turnover to give your offense a chance.  If the Cowboys passing game is on its A game and the pass rush isn't hitting home they are going to carve up our average secondary.  That's different from having the kind of gaping black holes Eagles have had over past few years with cluster injuries wiping out the 1st and 2nd team secondaries.  If the Eagles can control some clock and the Cowboys don't show up with their A game, this secondary is good enough to get some stops.

Epps has stepped up. Legit starting S. That kid really earned his role. Probably ready for it to keep expanding.

SO you are happy with average and I am not. You have to be above average if you want to win the SB. Bodies filling spaces doesn't mean there are no holes. every position can be upgraded. I have no clue what you don't understand about my explanations. Seems easy for me to see we are average at BEST. We have 1 shut down corner and you are ok with that and I am not-simple

Probably not stopped, but how much can you limit them? What % of completions are you happy with?. If you are getting beat 75% of the time, you need a replacement

No I am not happy with average I want pro bowlers at every position just like you do.  But average exists, you are acting like anything under top 5 is awful and it's not.  You are calling the eagles secondary gaping black holes and 4 posts in can't even name who you are talking about.

Down to 19,20,23 now

The obvious matchup to attack on our defense is Singleton in the passing game.

Who said gaping black holes???? There is a NEED to UPGRADE the secondary(as there always is every year because we rarely take in the top talent no????) The last top CB we took was JONES in round 2(and he is gone). Anyone else we drafted? Getting Slay was the best move ever because we either can't or won;t draft the top college talent(same with LB)

We drafted Maddox

I've been beating the table that i want to stay with Hurts and spend all 3 1st rd picks on defense.  The defense is ok and if we are going to win with a run heavy offense then the D has to be very good at least.  But there are plenty of solid role players already in place.  In the secondary alone you got Slay, Maddox and maybe Epps to build around.  A top NFL defense isn't 11 guys, it's 3-4 star players and about 10-12 guys that contribute and play roles.  The very worst defenses in the NFl only have 5-6 guys.  The Eagles probably have the 10-12 guys right now but not don't have the star power at the top of the depth chart.

This is what needs to change. We have a load of average, which DOES help as far as resting players, but in a run to the SB this will be exposed. Howie went in person to see Pickett play,so although I can't rule him out,Hurts has been playing some better. Still has a weak arm but his decisions have been better since we took the game away from him(aka RPO), established the running game we all knew we had since day one and are now letting the Oline open running lanes instead of staying back to guard Hurts. This actually frees Hurts up by taking responsibility off him. I was happy to see this change made, although it was later than I had hoped

Defense should rule the draft no doubt. Dickerson(drafted as a C) is working out great alongside Mailata,so we may need to seek a C. kelce retires every year, someday he will lol. I would be fine taking Linderbaum  or even a top WR to replace Reagor, but otherwise agree we need to hit defense. Sadly/historically we do not draft LB's or CB's high, but this is a deep draft for those positions

Yup, we've been chasing the unicorn for so  long at QB/WR (and STILL don't really have it resolved) that we haven't spent any major draft capitol on defense.  We've done well enough guys that can play but not enough guys that can change the game.  My honest hope is that we spend a 1st rd pick on every level of the defense.

IDK if one of the top 3 WR's falls in our lap how you can justify passing on them. reagor has not proven himself in my eyes(I had JJ as everyone under the sun did also LOL). Maybe WR in 2 if one of the top 4 fall. Reagors attitude stinks, He blew off all his drops as '"well there is next week" That lack of caring is not good enough for me. With the later picks we have now I am in agreement(now) with 93 that we trade back. The more we can add in rounds 1/2 the better off we will be. IDK what's roaming around in Howies little pea brain lol. I feel we got Shew with 2 years to give Hurts manother year before we decide. meantime we can get a top WR to pair with Smith and add defense. WOuld not shock me know with these later picks if we traded down ALOT

This says it all LOL. We got Smith right, Quez is fine(great pick where we got him) Ward is fine a s BU. Reagor needs to have a rude awakening. I would be fine trading him for a pick(like to Vegas to replace Ruggs LOL) I'm trying to picture Smith,JJ and Quez on the same field. We can fix that little problem this year

I never thought they'd get more than 6 W's. I'm glad (in a way) that they might make PO's.

But, did you take into perspective the status of the other teams' available personnel at the time the Eagles played them when you made this statement? We played  teams that were limping at the right moment.
