Playing would be a decision he'd have to make

remember Pickett, since we're using him as an example, played in his conference championship game. That meant something.

We'll never know but i'd wager if Pitt had been in the top 4 ge would have played in that game.

maybe a good reason to expand  the playoffs

Right,if he would have played they probably would have won that game,so he sacrificed his team for himself, that is all I am saying

yeah, and a win in the bowl game with a trophy in the trophy case may have meant something to someone else who is not destined for million dollar paychecks

But they have never played together

You get plenty of individual drills and matchups with prospects from every conference. That kid from South East Kentucky State lines up across from the Auburn Oline. That’s why I said I focus and only really pay attention to the Senior Bowl…’Practice Notes.’

I wish they would just state the truth. They are not "prepping for the draft" they are avoiding the possibility of injury to fall down draft boards. So, lets just call it what it is,they are not prepping for squat lol(*nice SPIN however) So I can understand both sides here. No top guys want to get hurt on a fluke, but by the same token you are abandoning the guys that got you there. So I DO see both sides. I just find it selfish but I am also aware that those draftees wont be playing with those guys again either

I actually disagree here. The Combine and all that….these guys do a ton of prep for now. This stuff isn’t learning football. It’s learning track skills. Balancing what your weight needs to be at versus speed. Heck they prep hard for the interviews also. A ton of prep goes into the dog and pony show in Indy.

This Citrus Bowl has been a good game. Kentucky having a great season for them. Iowa the same. Two teams…programs that really are embracing the bowl.

IDK watching on TV is different than being there, they really don't hit, they understand it;'s not worth injuring anyone. It's a social /autograph/ popularity event. The game is just going through the motions. If you ever get to see one in person,it's worse than the TV even shows lol. And while the goal is to win,it's merely a stage show like the senior bowl

I seem to remember McNabb tearing his ACL runnung out of bounds

Injury can happen any time

yes and 1 week makes the difference. I saw how hard Pickett was working in the luxury box upstairs watching his teammates die on the field

On ESPN2 there is a cool split screen with LIVE stats as they happen(very cool) Traditional on regular ESPN. Osu/Utes game

Here's another thing. Your team gets into bowl games because of rankings. So say your team is ranked 6th, then guys opt out,so really you cannot be ranked 6th now. More like 11th lol

Oh man this OSU game is unreal

What a fabulous game- WOW!!!! 2 WR s for the future Smith Njingba and some guy named Marvin Harrison jr(LOL)

Vikes down to their 3rd string QB. Someone said 3rd string QB's don't matter. With covid, they DO!! This covid policy will be a real mess when the playoffs start

Lets fast forward. We get to the Super Bowl….Chiefs vs Packers.  Mahomes tests positive for covid 2 or 3 days before the game. Either we will NEVER hear that he tested positive, or the following day it will be "announced” as a false positive. There is no chance in hell the league would play the big game without Mahomes in that scenario.

I didn’t like it either, BUT I understand why he did. He is being told that he will be the 1st QB taken in the draft. Bowl game means nothing and nobody even remembers today whether they one or lost and nobody cares but his now "past” teammates.

And we'd all be really pissed if Kelce tore his knee up playing in the pro Bowl

For sure! I rather watch a bunch of bikini ladies playing powder puff than the joke pro bowl game. My wife even said, they need to put flags on those guys….playing like a bunch of girls…and she does NOT watch football.

Watch Cunningham be right and the Eagles make the playoffs only to be DESTROYED in the first round by the Bucs or WORSE….by the hated Cowpies. I dont know if I could stomach the second option.

As they say in Switzerland, it's a Foo-KiNG MESS!!

I’d guarantee Pickett or any of the players that opted out would play if they had a chance at a national championship.

And of course Pickett played in the conference championship those are not easy to get to or win… Like I’ve been saying Bowl games have lost all meaning losing teams get to play in bowl games now.

Expanding the playoffs would help some keep More top teams from having guys opt out but what if they are not one of those top 8-12 teams to make the playoffs? Still would run into guys opting out in the other bowl games

To be fair i'd rather watch bikini football to MANY NFL games

Welp Going to need a ton of luck today to win my FF championship

QB- Trey Lance(Wentz out Covid)

RBs-Michael Carter, Daryl Williams, Jags backup( Henry IR, CEH out, Gaskin basically reduced to backup, Connor Questionable)

WRs- Keenan Allen(didn’t let me down) St.Brown (Fing a damn Thielan going on IR)

TE- Geodart(other team has Hurts)

Bears expected to fire Nagy and the Jags job both seem like solid landing spots for a future HC.

Bears have intriguing young QB fields and a pretty good D. Jags have a decent O of course Lawrence at QB definitely some decent young talent.
