An interesting point made by beat writer Zach Berman. The Eagles had 10 practices after Dillard's injury in which Peters played RG, Pryor played LT and Mailata played RT with the first team. At that point they knew Lane was unlikely to play in the opener. So they basically wasted those practices that could have been used getting the oline ready for the season due to Peters' insistence he get paid more.

What a show of incompetence. A team managed that poorly deserves to lose.

I was happy to hear that Mailata didn't look completely lost.  It's sad he played better than Driscoll though considering his lack of experience.

Doesn’t sound very good for Craig James

We all knew we couldn't afford another OL injury, what would happen and it did.

Would have been a great time to test my theory of having Mailata as an extra blocker and hand him the ball. Also why I like having some big backs along w/ the squigglies, big guys can help block and they don't need the cleanest of lanes.

Graham in concussion protocol, Barnett was already hurt, Curry is hurt..... Leaves us with Sweat and a part time rusher at best in Avery and rookie Toohill very strong chance we call a DE up for the Rams.

yeah, but at that point JP had not told them he wanted to play LT,so it's not their fault????? That pretty much re-arranged the OL

3-12 -not a good outlook

While it's rare & highly unusual for trades among rivals; given the recent developments of injuries to Blake Jarwin and Philly's OL (Brooks, Dillard & Johnson) & Ertz's apparent contract issues (along with Goedert's development) a Zach Martin for Ertz trade would help both teams.

It makes me feel a lot better about the team being completely unprepared for the start of the season that Peters got his extra $2 million.

I mean when your O goes up 17 nothing doesn’t seem like we were unprepared we collapsed by lots of dumb mistakes that wasn’t solely the OL.

I don’t understand why Mailata wasn’t the starter I will say that he and the first team RT reps seems to me he should have been the guy. Ultimately though the OL was bound to struggle and the gameplan didn’t seem to aid them any.

Biggest thing now is get healthy get Lane back get Sanders back. Can figure out RG though with 4 of the same starters from last season feel like we should be able to mask/aid a G whoever it is

Bigger cornerback right now though seems to be DE... Lane should be back vs LA I’d image... Graham/Curry/ Barnett could all miss that game.

fact remains they practiced with JP at RG because thats what they signed him to do,so would you not practice that?????

Barnett and Dillard,so far 2 wasted draft picks. They are useless in the mash unit

They gave up three sacks and numerous hits in the first quarter. The offense did well in spite of the offensive line, not because of it. And they never developed a running game, which hurt them later on.

I was pushing for a FA RB,this is why. With Sanders out we have ZIP.Clement didn't get it done and Scott is a scat back. Why do I have to do everything myself? lol

I am glad they practiced with JP at RG, which not only was a position he didn't play, but which took away first team reps for everyone else.

Next year we should practice with Wentz at WR, Reagor at punter and Cox at placekicker, because who needs practice. I mean, it's only professional football. Why should we be worried about the team literally throwing together an offensive line at the last second for no apparent reason.

The no name team leads the division, the rest of us are 0-1 lmao

Hindsight, they signed JP to play G,so thats what you assume. We had zero clue he would play LT or we would not have let him walk in the first place

BTW I bet Wentz would be a better WR than Jjaw lol

Literally everybody on the planet knew JP was going to play LT after Dillard got hurt. The Eagles wasted 10 practices before making that happen. In a competitive environment, you don't get to screw things up like that.

That is literally the blueprint for running an organization into the ground.

5-11 and maybe we get lucky 1 game so 6-10

For years we said JP is too old, needs replaced(I can count 4 years running).Howie pinching pennies, but we have him now cheaper than what we woulda paid him to stay

The mystery of JJAW is one I will never understand. He does well in practice. He catches balls that are thrown to him. And then when he gets in during games Wentz never even looks his way.

It is just bizarre. It's like Wentz would rather throw to the other team than JJ.

So,the issue for me is Dillweed, who can't stay on the field.gets a hangnail and he's out 2 weeks and we have no suitable BU.LT's are HTF,but we failed to BU Dillweed

IDK that is/was a waste,JP doesn't need practice at LT,the only thing this hurt was the RG practcing and frankly with Lane out, noones gonna be a stud without him
