High ankle sprain! That’s not the minor kind of sprain. There are different levels of that type of sprain even if I remember things correctly. Different degrees. We haven’t been just letting it heal. So what are you risking our chances in the playoff game for week 18? What are you really getting out of it? Try and get the top guys running as close to 100 percent as we can. Huge advantage to rest your guys that extra week.

I am with your school of thought what an opportunity. We are NOT the #1 seed in the NFC. No bi-week for other teams. but we have a bi-week opportunity to get the team healthy. BUT NO get the injured guys out there so they can prove WHAT? 😅 So come playoffs the can't play their best game because we needed to see them play against a meaningless Cowitches game. Some Eagle fans we got here.lolhahahaha.

Wasn't sure of the exact injury. If there's high probability of worse injury then no. I'm resting him.

Too bad though. I would love to see him against dullas for the 2nd time.

No worries I think somehow we are going to see them in the playoffs .

Why. I want Hurts healthy in the playoffs😰 worst case bring him in for a few reps. On the second thought Hell NO. Get the team healthy, Yea we run the risk of some rust . Get the team healthy for the game that matters. I would give The Stache a chance against better competition and let him win the game.

SO once again say Shew beats Dullaz, then 2 weeks down the road you face Dullaz again. WHO do you start???? Shew who beat them or Hurts who has no experience against this team this late because you refused to play him week 18? I say play Hurts, maybe he will pass the ball more knowing he is limited running? Isn't that what we all want to see anyway???? Isn't that the growth we want from him? If you're going to coddle/"save" him for every hangnail get rid of him

I'm paying guys to play 17 weeks not 16. If you want to "opt out" like they do in college, fine, refund that weeks paycheck or donate it to charity if you want to be a wuss. Shew is just as good as Hurts,so what's the big deal? It's not like Shew is a UDFA scrub. We won a  SB with a BU REMEMBER??????? What the hell ever happened to "We're from Philly and we fight?" Change the logo to a pink chicken

If he's not healthy enough to play why is he playing???? OH because this game doesn't matter???? What a wussie excuse. There is no pride now in beating Dullaz, the team we all hate? Just let them kick our arse and laugh and laugh and laugh. great way to kill a rivalry by basically forfeiting like a bunch of school girls. Change the logo to a pink chicken and the motto to"'we're from Philly and we roll over and play dead" It's not like we're paying Hurts 35 million a year either. I've seen more of a fighting spirit in pee wee's. Pathetic

Some say "OH Hurts is TOUGH" He already played with this so called "injury". If he's tough PROVE IT. Let's see him fight through adversity or a pain here or there(wentz did it on TWO bum ankles). He's only tough when the game counts? BS. If you are the leader and you can be on the field, then LEAD by EXAMPLE. I can't believe the attitude of some of you, it's quite shocking. I want to find out as soon as possible if Hurts is our QB,that means he plays every game he is capable of playing in. And like I said we're NOT risking a 35 million dollar QB here,so to sit him is pointless. So Dullaz is playing their starters and we're not? Should be a great game 55-3(and that may be by 1/2 time lol). No fighting spirit left in Philly, but I'm so happy our "star"(as the media now calls him) can pick up a fan who fell and is suddenly the gold standard of QB's overnight Amazing stuff!!!. LMAO. Rant over. I just can't believe y'all want to run from a fight(don't forget your binky on your way out)

Except that he already played. I guess that high probability didn't matter then? He got through that game? He WON that game? What's the difference if you get hurt by a Wuss D lineman or one from Dullaz? Maybe the O line fights a little harder(and gets better) having to protect Hurts more? Or just let Shew play and have the O line play MEH because Shew is expendable? I now hope Shew plays and kicks Dullaz arse and is the QB for the playoff run after that, Deja Vu with Foles, because we gotta save our "star"

Here's my question. We were stumbling along with the college RPO BS offense and it seemed obvious(at least to me) that approach was not working here. The offense was sporadic at best and AWFUL at worst. Failure to move the ball was costing the defense as they were(once again) playing 40 minutes a game. I started bishing about this week 2 and never stopped bishing. I cant remember if it was week 11 or 12 when I saw this team with the RPO GONE and replaced with PRO style play action. This STOPPED the stupid "linemen downfield" penalties. The O line went back to doing what are suppose to do OPEN HOLES for the RB's and give the QB time to throw, which we could not do despite Luries moronic comment that "we need to throw more". Hurts never had a chance as a QB who can run the show. he simply doesn't have the experience. And when we took the game away from him and went pro style,we all saw the effectiveness of our team increase ALOT. For me personally, that was the DAY that BEGAN Hurts learning curve. before that we were trying to ACCOMODATE HIM not teach him. Now he is LEARNING and I would really love to know who made this long awaited decision

When was the defense playing 40 minutes a game?

Didn't Shew win???? So you're going to sit Hurts when he could get valuable learning in vs the Boyz if we had to face them again in like the semi finals? You would rob him of that experience to set him up for potential failure later when it REALLY counted? Hurts is so good he is at the point he needs dialed back??? WOW This is all news to me

Dallas isn't going to play their guys...it's not experience.  The loss the following week in the playoffs will be the valuable experience and the reality check for a team that hasn't beaten anyone in the top 17 of the league all year.

In Ham's world,  the intangibles that Hurts has will be amplified after he experiences a playoff loss, with that incredible work ethic, leadership etc... it will drive him to try to actually beat a winning team next year.  He will inspire the team to work and improve to the next level.  It's possible next year that we beat a team that has a winning record.

How do you anticipate seeing Dallas in the playoffs?

I think people need a dose of reality here.  The Eagles are not going to play Dallas in the playoffs unless it's the NFC title game at Dallas.   Does anyone on here really anticipate BOTH teams winning 2 playoff games... over Green Bay, Tampa, Rams and Arizona?

With this covid BS who knows??? Nobody had us winning more than 6 games either

A loss is better in the longrun.... it's a meaningless game, but will ensure the 19th pick after a playoff loss, still possible that an AFC team can make the playoffs with 9 wins...that would put them ahead of the Eagles each round of the draft.  Also would like to move Dallas back each round.

Bad example, because it wasn't close.  The simple difference is the opponents inability to play offense.  That's really it.  Eagles didn't punt against KC.  But KC has a legit offense.  The Chargers, Raiders, Dallas, all teams with legit offenses that we played.  That makes the difference in all these other things. It's not playaction vs RPO, the coach waking up...etc.   We haven't played a team that has a legit NFL offense in like 2 months.  That's about to change in 9-10 days.

Against Tampa Bay. Actually it fell 4 seconds shy of 40 minutes....

Hoping Miami Loss so we can grab a top 15 pick. Maybe as low as 12....

Tampa's game plan was to prevent Hurts from running to his right.  Was a big factor on us not sustaining drives until garbage time.

true, but had we even tried to run the football I am sure that TOP would have swung a bit in our favor....

I wanted to lose starting week 12 lol

I miss the old days, when men were men and played with broken teeth, bloody noses and broken bones. Now it's just bubble ball wussies trying to find the next excuse not to play

Point was,if your team is any good at all, your offense is on the field more than your defense

I wanted to play vs the best competition to see what happens...unfortunately with everything happening to our opponents, losses would have had to come with brutal play... ie. The Giants loss.   That was very unlikely.   To me that would have put too much blame on coaching and QB.

My biggest fear still remains using all 3 first round picks to get a QB, whether draft or trade.  If the wins give the organization a false sense of security with Hurts, then it's fine with me as long as it avoids the idea " we are just a QB away, let's invest everything in one"

Better to draft another position at 15, 19 and 20s ...then have picks 12 & 14 and give them up for a QB.   That's my opinion.  A bulk draft this year building up the roster that is going to lose a lot of very good 30 year olds... let the cap settle, and you can invest in both QB and free agency in 2023.

yeah I agree. I saw the "Concept" change I think it was week 11 or 12 when we went to a more pro style and thing began to click a little. I want Young in 2023 but we'd have to basically tank the whole season to get him. Catch 22. I think Hurts played well enough to keep his job for the moment,so I agree this is the year to hit every other spots, but as you said Howie loves making waves, getting QB's and expecting them to play all 11 positions on offense by himself. Now I really want to see Shew start. He has more experience and if he can beat da boyz then Howie needs to rethink things Shew played alot better here than in Jax because he had no Oline in jax,so if given the shot I'd like to see what he can do vs a formidable team(not the Jets lol)
