I miss the old days, when men were men and played with broken teeth, bloody noses and broken bones. Now it's just bubble ball wussies trying to find the next excuse not to play

Point was,if your team is any good at all, your offense is on the field more than your defense

Point is if your team is any good,  you actually can score more points than an opponent with a winning record.

Not punting is good enough for the offense IMO, I don't care what the time of possession is if my offense was good enough not to punt.   It tells me that either my defense stinks or the other team also has a legit offense.

Time of possession is a team thing, not one side of the ball.   We are winning that lately due to crap offense on the other side... that's the biggest factor of the last 2 months since the Chargers game.

Very interesting to hear AB’s side of things. His story makes a ton of sense.

Lmao by one persons opinion. Acting like one person makes it that Hurts is the 14th best QB in the league comical

I know I’m only one person….but I have a track record. Oh wait…..you were talking about the other guy’s opinion that was similar.

Didn't Shew win???? So you're going to sit Hurts when he could get valuable learning in vs the Boyz if we had to face them again in like the semi finals? You would rob him of that experience to set him up for potential failure later when it REALLY counted? Hurts is so good he is at the point he needs dialed back??? WOW This is all news to me

I said he was dialed back because if managing just injury. You want him to go push it further and be really hobbled for the playoff game….just so you can ride him about a poor playoff performance to invalidate him. If the game doesn’t matter….week 18 game doesn’t for us….then what can you really gain?

OK so lets deny Hurts the experience he may need later reading/ learning the Dallas defense if we have to face the boyz AGAIN later so he can get destroyed in a much more important game. Got it

Yes…you’re right a meaningless week 18 game versus the Cowboys is much more important than a playoff game. Your priorities are spot on.

SO what if Shew blows them away? And scores 45 points. Who starts the rest of the way????? Are you gonna start Shew if there is a NEXT Dullaz game? or put Hurts in who has no experience vs them because you "saved" him before?

Experience vs Dallas or…..playoff experience? I want everybody in best form for the playoff game.

Not even looking at Hurts... if a dude has an opinion that Russell Wilson is the 12th best QB ... THIS YEAR... right there I don't consider that opinion any good.

If it's a 4-5 week heal why was he only out 1 weeK

That’s fact. High ankle sprain. That’s why you missed the whole point in the story from Siri about Hurts telling him everything is on the table in this must win game.

BU's. Why don't we just forfeit this game after the first 15, and save everyone? If they play their starters, maybe after 15 we can apply the mercy rule

I’m interested in what some  of these other guys can do. A bunch of guys haven’t really played much. Great opportunity to not just see these third or fourth string Oline…..but all these young DBs we’ve been rostering.

SO we're gonna go out there and let our BU's get hurt because they are outclassed,.so when a starter goes down we have noone because they are all beat up from the Dullaz game. Got it (buncha wussies).

Totally fine with the backup getting hurt instead of the starter. Works for me.

100 %.   You have everyone 100% then you get a more legit read on your team.much more legit than the last 2 months for sure.   Didn't realize how pathetic the schedule actually was...  go back to Denver game...and look since 11-14 at the scores from the Saints, Giants,  Washington, Denver and the Jets.     Jets were the only team to put up any offense ( barring Denver blowing out the powerhouse Detriot)    We also know the Jets were in a shambles at QB when we faced them as they had to get Flacco from us...lol.

I mean wow, such a pathetic display of offense by these teams.

With the trash we played Hurts S/B in the the top 5

He had 3 weeks between starts before he played the Giants the week before.  Ankle sprains are different for each person.... it's 6 weeks now.  When it's the playoff game it will be 8 weeks. Really should stop talking about this from either side.    Game is meaningless, you play the backups, end of story.  Move on.

Just to put in my 2 cents. If i'm the Eagles staff i'm sitting every starter i can.

Especially the ones that are dinged up at all.

SO once again say Shew beats Dullaz, then 2 weeks down the road you face Dullaz again. WHO do you start???? Shew who beat them or Hurts who has no experience against this team this late because you refused to play him week 18? I say play Hurts, maybe he will pass the ball more knowing he is limited running? Isn't that what we all want to see anyway???? Isn't that the growth we want from him? If you're going to coddle/"save" him for every hangnail get rid of him

High ankle sprain/ hangnail very equal comparison. Hope your sports medicine career continues on such an all knowing path.

100% ... shouldn't even be a thought.  The next game is next week.  Saturday is just like an August game, except colder.

In other words... remember that last game of 2017 vs Dallas...  you don't,  exactly, you won't remember this one either... moving on.

I'm paying guys to play 17 weeks not 16. If you want to "opt out" like they do in college, fine, refund that weeks paycheck or donate it to charity if you want to be a wuss. Shew is just as good as Hurts,so what's the big deal? It's not like Shew is a UDFA scrub. We won a  SB with a BU REMEMBER??????? What the hell ever happened to "We're from Philly and we fight?" Change the logo to a pink chicken

There is no point in time where any of your logic on this subject makes any sense.

If he's not healthy enough to play why is he playing???? OH because this game doesn't matter???? What a wussie excuse. There is no pride now in beating Dullaz, the team we all hate? Just let them kick our arse and laugh and laugh and laugh. great way to kill a rivalry by basically forfeiting like a bunch of school girls. Change the logo to a pink chicken and the motto to"'we're from Philly and we roll over and play dead" It's not like we're paying Hurts 35 million a year either. I've seen more of a fighting spirit in pee wee's. Pathetic

Let’s Jack ourselves up on pain killers to go have fun. Or……rest and heal up some. Either way!

Some say "OH Hurts is TOUGH" He already played with this so called "injury". If he's tough PROVE IT. Let's see him fight through adversity or a pain here or there(wentz did it on TWO bum ankles). He's only tough when the game counts? BS. If you are the leader and you can be on the field, then LEAD by EXAMPLE. I can't believe the attitude of some of you, it's quite shocking. I want to find out as soon as possible if Hurts is our QB,that means he plays every game he is capable of playing in. And like I said we're NOT risking a 35 million dollar QB here,so to sit him is pointless. So Dullaz is playing their starters and we're not? Should be a great game 55-3(and that may be by 1/2 time lol). No fighting spirit left in Philly, but I'm so happy our "star"(as the media now calls him) can pick up a fan who fell and is suddenly the gold standard of QB's overnight Amazing stuff!!!. LMAO. Rant over. I just can't believe y'all want to run from a fight(don't forget your binky on your way out)

Why are you running for a fight? Should have a reason to get involved with a fight. But that’s just me. Go rough up people at the grocery store Slugger!

I don't expect these Eagles to make any noise in the playoffs but 2008 just sits in the back of my head.

Dallas isn't going to play their guys...it's not experience.  The loss the following week in the playoffs will be the valuable experience and the reality check for a team that hasn't beaten anyone in the top 17 of the league all year.

In Ham's world,  the intangibles that Hurts has will be amplified after he experiences a playoff loss, with that incredible work ethic, leadership etc... it will drive him to try to actually beat a winning team next year.  He will inspire the team to work and improve to the next level.  It's possible next year that we beat a team that has a winning record.

First start for Hurts. Beat a Saints team that all ready had 10 wins on the season.

2008 they beat a few winning teams during the season ...including both the top seeded Giants and the eventual SB winning Steelers.    They were not really a bad team, just had luck getting in the last week.

Who was the Saints QB and how many points did the Saints score in the first half?    It is what it is... a legit NFL opponent next week, first time in 2 months.

Bad example, because it wasn't close.  The simple difference is the opponents inability to play offense.  That's really it.  Eagles didn't punt against KC.  But KC has a legit offense.  The Chargers, Raiders, Dallas, all teams with legit offenses that we played.  That makes the difference in all these other things. It's not playaction vs RPO, the coach waking up...etc.   We haven't played a team that has a legit NFL offense in like 2 months.  That's about to change in 9-10 days.

Good point. All about the schedule. This young team wasn’t nearly ready in week four for those guys. We are on much better footing now.
