One last time addressing this.   Mailata is an OL.  Playing rugby or Australian rules... no pads, no blocking,  nobody tackles below the waste etc.  He's way bigger than everyone else.  It's not the same as NFL football.   He is not a runner.  Let's stop with this idea please.

Wasn't looking at massive ydg w/ Mailata running the ball. He'd bring the much needed extra blocking ability the squiglies can't and he'd be able to hold onto the ball while getting short ydg. Running small backs behind a bad OL just loses downs and leaves the QB unprotected.

Who recovered the fumble in the superbowl... the wasted draft pick?

He was at the right place at the right time. The credit goes to Graham

It's long developing routes, but not so much deep IMO.

Lol I mentioned deep running routes which I meant the developing ones you definitely said it better word escaped me when I typed it

Honestly the biggest concern for LA could be our pass rush.... Possibly no graham/Barnett/ Curry/Hargrove

Be on our 3rd 5th and 6th string DEs and possibly a PS call up. I think Sweat showed up fine but Avery not so much and Toohill has never played an NFL neither as Ostman who has been on PS or injured every year if we called him up.

The Injuries are taking a toll and exposing our lack of depth.

Land said he plans to play week 2 not surprised

While most people have been fixated on the play of rookie RT Jack Driscoll and RG Nate Herbig, it needs to be pointed out that LT Jason Peters played poorly v. Washington. rightly gave him a 48.7 run-blocking grade and 58.2 overall grade. Both were 50th among OTs in Week 1

We really can’t afford to lose to the Rams... Starting 0-2 could be a tough hole to climb out of plus if we beat the Rams could be a nice tie breaker over Dallas later in the season.

This is an interesting tweet.

I don't think we can keep playing Hightower and Reagor at any position but the Z, since they really hurt us when they play the slot or the X. Hopefully this week we will see the team go to a lineup of DJax, Ertz, Goedert and Ward, with JJAW taking all the reps at X when we are in 11 personnel and Reagor subbing for Jackson at the Z. Hightower should be used sparingly.

The offense just didn't work on Sunday when Reagor and Hightower were out there together.

Think we are panicking to much these guys are rookies they struggled.... Ideally we would have been able to ease them into roles but our injury situations didn’t allow that.

Djax for whatever reason was hampered early Alston already hurt...Not sure on Ward as an outside guy...

And even if we want to play JJaw at the X most of the time have to spell him eventually here and there

Likely going to be some times Hightower and Reagor share the field right now the coaches job is to find a way to make it work.

Why not run Jason Peters or Lane Johnson? Both have experience playing Anerican football at skill position where they've touched the ball.  What football experience does Mailata have with the ball in his hands?  Again... rugby is not football.

I figured we were on the same page, just wanted to clarify.

Early depth chart suggests Pryor will start at RG.... Of course Lane states he will play this week.

Sanders I’d image will be active an play but guess Hammies are weird so we shall see.

with Curry on IR will we bring another DE up or sign a guy to active roster???

Even tougher when your coach won't call running plays ... watch on the drive where they went up tempo in the 3rd Q and Wash calls timeout... pass instead of run...the my favorite run on 2nd and 10... then the sack before the missed FG.  Why stop running?   Again it's all fluff and effects..  the cause starts with Doug. Wentz right afterwards.

Yep... one superbowl in your entire time as a fan... tell me how long you have been a fan again?

Long enough to have more than 1 SB.Also hard to call running plays when your O line can't open a can of tuna let alone a hole for a RB

Gonna be worse,if our O line doesn't perform

Yep lost my fantasy game because I put Wentz in.I lost by 6 Wentz-16 pts, Murray 28pts.Thanks so much(grrrrr)

JP has to play better was also a weak link and hopefully getting Lane back should fix majority of the OL issues. You know not throwing 42 times and running more will also aid them as well

My guess is it will depend in Hargrave or Barnett can play. If both are out, I think they will promote McGill to the roster and call up Ostman from the PS for Sunday, since they can't promote McGill two weeks in a row.

Here's a play that I think illustrates our problems on defense.

We have LeBlanc, Edwards, Gerry and Mills lined up behind the DL, with Slay, Maddox and McLeod in deep off coverage.

In theory we are in a quarters zone with LeBlanc and Mills taking the flats and Gerry and Edwards in the middle. But what we end up with is a hybrid, with Edwards essentially in man on the TE because Gerry doesn't get any depth. Mills also is out of position, as he should be much deeper and wider.

People blamed Edwards for having bad coverage on the play, but he and LeBlanc did what they were supposed to do.

In this case, it would have been far better to just have LeBlanc cover the TE in man, Edwards and Gerry play the run and have Mills play man on the other TE. Instead we run these ridiculous zone coverages where half the time no one knows what they are supposed to do and we end up leaving one guy wide open.

It ended up making Edwards look bad, when he was the only guy who realized what was happening. And when i say that Gerry looks bad in zone coverage, this is what I mean.

I really feel the D was going to pitch a shutout if we didn't give them the ball 5 times on our side of the field.

Defense let up zero points when Washington started in their territory.... Only points allowed they had less then 50 yards to score.

First game with new faces and ton of injures think the D was fine perfect no by no means but hardly the issue

Still shows that Edwards is limited and shouldn’t be a 3 down player at best 2down run defender.

Edwards regardless got beat soundly and Gerry hesitanted to much on a relatively weak PA

Allen Robinson asked for a trade should Eagles look into him????
