I do not think so on Fournette. Bell is not nearly what he used to be. Defensively they may be better off, but not sure. Fact is they are hurting with multiple injuries. Listening to Brian Westbrook last night on my way home. He also says TB is probably our best choice of the three, so I am not the only one who feels that way. Brady is the key to beating TB. We need to hit the WR's at the LOS to throw off their timing and force Brady to hold onto the ball longer. Only way to allow the D-Line to pressure him. He is great of getting rid of the ball quickly and knows where to go just by looking at our defense before the snap. Put Slay on Evans and double up on Gronk. probably what they will do.

Look, Tb is going to score 27 or more points most likely. We will need to match that. Not sure we can, but I like our chances against a depleted TB squad over others. Anyway, it does not matter. We have to play TB. So whether we like that or not, it does not make a difference. Maddox on Perriman and not sure who they would put on a 2nd TE if they go that way...

Oh yeah,  that's why in my post I was talking about people on this board and the local media trying to convince themselves that Tampa is the better matchup.   I think it's wishful thinking.

Wishful that Slay takes care of Evans more than he could AJ Green and that the Cardinals wouldn't be a better matchup at this point.   It is what it is. The mindset of wishing the opponent is vulnerable needs to be there.  Much different than 2017 when it was " bring it on, we can take your best shot"  To me, this wishful mindset of trying to find something wrong with the other team just shows lack of confidence in our own squad.

My fault. Thought you just misunderstood my post. Humor doesn’t always come through in this format. I also could be clearer on my point at times. Feel like I have good ideas and know what I’m talking about…but I’m no Jack London. Mostly think you guys have adjusted to my ways of communicating.

NP bro,I think we all get misunderstood,or write things that we don't explain well and get called out LOL. I know I do. All good. We all think differently and have differing ideas how to build a team or what to do. It's fun,but doesn't matter because we control ZIP

Yeah….but Fangio I’d consider an elite DC. Now that he failed as a HC he could stick for awhile at that position. Gannon it feels like is on a different path. Actually a pretty good offseason to grab a DC. Wasn’t Flores a big defense guy? Zimmer wouldn’t work in my mind. Too much a hard ass and he’d try to take over on Siri. He’s just a very no nonsense seeming guy. Don’t think he’d work under Siri. We’ve had two straight HC that were really glorified OC. Having that ….we’ve had DC that ran their side of things pretty autonomously. Let’s face it….feels like Rosie and Lurie are really the HC. They just don’t call plays. But Pedey let us in on the weekly after game meetings he’d have with Rosie. You know Siri is going through that. You’d have to assume they’d do the same for the defense, right? Rosie really keeps the analytics department separate. Feels like that’s his angle to be able to question the actual football guys. That’s a ton to balance. Normal GM and coach stuff is hard enough. We’ve now learned how meddling and involved our FO is. Being a HC feels like you have to deal with the board room as much as the infield opponent. Lurie sees himself as a winner for sure. Smart guy. That’s good and bad. Think when he knows to get out the way and trust…..we can really be successful. I was harsher on these dynamics before. But it’s big time NFL football. Pressure and accountability are mostly positive. If you can’t handle the heat…..definitely not the right team to coach anyway.

Fangio could go to jax as i said either as a DC or maybe another HC shot

Gannon getting some interviews for HC jobs. IF so, please sign Fangio ASAP!

They said that 10 players from last night are projected as first round picks. So, chances are we get one of them. Anyone want to guess who? Did you see the LB play last night? They were flying all over the field. I can see us going Edge, then CB and LB or DT. Assuming they do not trade back. Also that safety from Alabama- Battle. That dude is special.....

I already have Dean on my mock list. He's been there awhile. CB-Gardner, but Battle would be fine with me also. Someone will get a nice player in Wyatt

Right, what I said earlier,we need to match them score for score and make sure we get the ball LAST. By then hopefully their D will be tired and we can run on them, run the clock out and get the W. Gotta still toss running plays in there to wear them down. They are more vulnerable over the middle, so I suspect to hear Goedert and Quez's name called often. it would be interestin sticking Smith in the slot a few plays(like LSU did with JJ). Hit in stride, Smith can rack up YAC./Doing that will free up Hurts to take off some. We have to execute for 60 minutes, that is all

I need Reagor replaced to finish the offense. I explained why it needs to be this year. Round 2 is ok, but no later. That is fine also, one should be there through all 4 first picks. One falls into my lap,I pull that trigger. I think Burks would be the guy we need, the Alshon type. There is also a kid from Purdue worth looking into. Also a chance Olave would be available

https://nfldraftlounge.com/2022-nfl-draft-scouting-report-coastal-carolina-wr-jaivon-heiligh/  I would look at this kid as a day 3 prospect to increase our WR depth. He would be a WIP that could start later. Losing Reagor for a(real) starter and adding this kid along with Ward, would give us adequate depth for many years. Runs a projected 4.42. His QB is also available in the '23 draft. I would not reach for him,but he would be an ok late rounder if nothing better is hanging around

Only way to get a top edge rusher is to give up draft capital now. Are you willing to do that?(I am not)

later prospects to look at: Emagbare-Edge, Nolan Smith -OLB

ONE AND DONE. But you are right, wishful thinking we can beat anyone with a good QB.... 0-6 in 2021 vs play-off teams should indicate our outcome....

Then we grab BPA, whether it is a DT, CD, LB or S I have no problem. I am sure one will be available at 15 or 16 whenever we pick....

There are allot of Edge players available in round 2. That is why trading back makes so much sense....

That is the logic.   But one can make a case that we have momentum now.  So we shall see.  I just don't want to go overboard to where people get silly saying Tampa is the matchup.   Out of the NFC group playing THIS WEEK,  I think it's easy to see they have the best coaching,  QB and run defense. Plus the experience.   Those are 4 big things that to me, outweigh any RB or WR from anyone else.  And besides, other than Adams ( who is on a bye)  I can easily make a case that Evans and Gronk are the best weapons out there.

This is why I think people are really kidding themselves about wanting Tampa,  just doesn't make any sense when looking at the major things I mentioned.

Evans and Gronk are tough to defend. No doubt. Plus they are hard to bring down. Kupp may be the best weapon playing this weekend in the NFC though...

Anyway, Which Player(s) are you eyeing next Spring for the draft? You watch any College? If you watched that game last night, you saw many players that should be available and projected in the First round.... That Safety Battle should be available in the late first round. Maybe even the 2nd....

B. West was paid respectably to say that.

Just kidding

Agreed. Lots of talent and lots of things to fix. Hard choices to make, but we will get much needed talent in here

The 0-6 against playoff teams just doesn’t feel very fair. We played all of them first half of the season while the first time coaches were still implementing things and discovering our identity. Not saying we are better than those teams. Just feel we’d have a much better shot now.

Gannon has an interview with for the broncos HC opening

Doesn't Gannon have only 1 year as a DC?

Yes only one season as a DC but he was very highly thought of last season when he came with Siri lots of teams wanted him as a DC. Broncos could be looking at it as a similar approach to how we hired Siri maybe a year or so to soon buts it’s better then being a year to late to get a guy

Spin it any way you want. Fact remains 0-6 is terrible. Even if we were just getting our feet wet, we still could have pulled out 1 win. But hey, if you want to use it as an excuse go for it.

Well you get your chance this week to see if we can beat a playoff team we will see how different it looks

Joe Judge fired

I've been watching football for quite a number of years. In all those years i only remember the Steelers having 3 HCs

That's called consistancy and is a big reason they're usually in the playoffs.
