I really would have loved to see Shew play today with nothing to lose. The fact he didn't, tells me this FO is egotistical and really doesn't care except to guard Howie's ego. Cna't judge Shew by the one jets game,so really we still don't know what we have their. He is no worse than Hurts, may possibly be better, but we;ll never know will we? is he the answer? No,but he may be better until we find our franchise

You said Hurts would play better with the receivers you mentioned, then you say "better options" so which is it?

I was talking about a better QB in that post. Your idea of Shew. Not a good one me thinks. But I’m still listening if you come up with a good idea.

Pretty obvious if you take the top guys you will play better LOL. Thats not the question, the question is what is holding up our offensive production

I can't judge Shew by one game(he played well though and we looked coherent). How do we know if he is better or worse if he rides pine???? I can't tell just by looking at him sitting on the sideline

Like I said decisions will be made in the off season and maybe someone shakes loose. Doesn't matter what you or I think about Lance,Jimmy or Love,it's what the FO thinks

What if Watson goes to Miami and Tua shakes loose

Look at Dak’s career. He wasn’t looking very good. They added  Gallop. Traded for Amari. Then drafted Lamb. He looks much better. I think the same could be said for Hurts. We drafted Smith. Now? Or are we comparing Dak vs Jalen not considering the WR room difference?

Dak is a pass first QB, Hurts is indecisive. How do you ignore Smith for 30 minutes???? That is STUPID

Where to start? Coaching. I believe these coaches proved themselves. But at the top of their game they aren’t yet. Reliable RB. Howard looks toast. Sanders has been injured a bunch and made bone headed plays. WR room really failing. It’s Smith and friends currently. No QB is looking elite like that. But also the QB play needs to step up.

Indecisive throwing to Reagor? Watkins? Ward? JJAW?

But yeah today he didn’t get it out quick enough more than once.

Are those your top target??? Nope. Ignoring your playmakers will lose you every game. Smith ignored for 30 minutes is inexcusable

Indecisive is how I’d describe Watkins route running.

Or Reagor’s returning

IDK what's the point of getting top WR's when you don;t hit the one you have?

I don't know what to think about Gannon, once again like Schwartz he has little talent to work with. I can teach you to play piano, but I doubt you are the next Bach. Siri took too long to adjust IMO. We did well when we went short over the middle, but too little too late

Anyway, it was fairly clear we aren't close to being a SB contender.,OK Im gonna go watch the KC game

Who was the player ready to play today? Tough to really say anybody. ST we had our P with a shank. Reagor with two muffs. We got four sacks but I can’t say anybody on defense really…came..to…play. Goedert was a big part of the game. He put up a bunch of yardage…including that big play called back by penalty. But dropped two and missed two blocks badly(usually known as an A+ blocker). Gainwell is the best I think I can say. Expectations were minimal.

It was a ‘got off the plane flat performance.’

Yes.... we need a lot of players.   This is why no matter what you say, I will feel the exact lucky scenarios with our opponents was the reason we made the playoffs.  When facing a good team, it's not really close.   We had close games vs bad teams where you were in love with the heart and the intangibles.

While I don't think Hurts will ever be a winner in the NFL ...beating any decent team.. I don't want him to get all the blame.   If it takes one more year for you to see it, I can put up with the ignorant posts, just as long as the front office doesn't panic.

It was ...." the other team wasn't the Giants or the Jets" performance.

Brady is just so good. He got that ball out sooo quick. We still got him four times. We couldn’t hold them to any field goals. I still thought that penalty on Barnett was garbage. We had them at third and long on the opening drive. That was a crucial penalty.

  • Author

But we won the coin toss. Shouldn’t we have taken the ball? I know it’s customary to take it in the second half. But we were facing Brady in his home as a dominant rushing team. Keeping it close early was the play. The longer we could stay in it the more dangerous we’d become. So I’m starting with that mistake to start the whole game. Take the ball!

Who played great?

We need more talent…no doubt. This year’s team was in a very known hole.

To me it says plenty that really every single player came out flat.

Good stats. Doesnt win BIG games. ZERO playoff wins. Both were home playoff games with good records and teams.

Bottom line for me... I didn't and still don't want a big investment in the QB position next year. Use the picks to fill the other holes and/or trade for more picks or players at other positions.

I feel that we got screwed indirectly by getting lucky this year with timing and opponents.  That has caused us to drop to 19 in each round.  One loss  changes things and in reality we have 4 games where we were fortunate... and me personally, I am not looking at Carolina with the blocked punt and no CMC, or playing ATL week 1.    The 4 games I see as gifts...

1. Saints ... 3rd string QB,no Kamara and backup OTs.

2.Jets being the extra game, the luck compared to having to play the other 3 AFC teams.

3.  Both Washington games, no starting QB, Logan Thomas, Young, etc.

You can talk about all the Eagles improvements... you can't argue these were 4 gift wins.   Stick your chest out that they won, come draft you are going to be annoyed.  I'm not saying they would have been 5- 12 and lost all 4, but I think it's fair to say they lose at least 2 of those.    That will ultimately hurt us, not help.

But, for me, maybe it's enough to keep Hurts... I would love for Ham and Trini to get jobs for the Eagles until the draft... they could talk up Hurts, and this way no move at QB for another season.

Well stated Joemas!  I will add that I want them to KEEP and MAKE their first round picks and find some talent. However, I do hope they at least explore other QB options, even if they are not ARod or Wilson. Hurts is not going to find an NFL arm in the offseason.

Experienced. Coached and very ready for the moment. We just flat out weren’t in all three phases.
