I think we learned from our first time playing the Bucs and again this time. Our biggest growth moments probably.

We had some close interceptions opportunities in that first drive. Then we had a good Sanders run to start the game. Then that option play on third down was totally snuffed out by the Bucs. Then a terrible punt. 27 yarder.

The second offensive series Hurts missed a huge opportunity. Great pocket. Smith getting doubled. Watkins is wide open with a mile to throw it too. Hurts bails from the pocket and tries for Reagor instead.

Then a slightly better bad punt. TB drives on us for a TD. Third offensive series. Third down sack on Hurts. TB drives all the way down on us and settled for the gimme field goal. 17-0…..

Just doesn’t matter after all that

  • Author

Just asking how Gronk was standing alone in the middle of the end zone. I mean…that happened? We should be doubling him but instead….

The option on third down was a questionable call. What about the third down screen to Sanders on 3rd and 12? One yard we got.

Two penalties. The BS Kelce holding penalty and Watkins.

  • Author

Then we get a first down in field goal range after the penalties. But then the late Hurts throw to Smith for an interception. Crushing.

The Scott TD shows how dangerous we can be. You bring that run blitz and miss it can become a TD. Bowles called a good game.

Loved the Gainwell finish!

Two point conversion play was great between Hurts and Smith(doubled). Definitely feel Smith is going over 1,000 yards next season. This gives even more confidence in his redzone ability.

Well stated Joemas!  I will add that I want them to KEEP and MAKE their first round picks and find some talent. However, I do hope they at least explore other QB options, even if they are not ARod or Wilson. Hurts is not going to find an NFL arm in the offseason.

No he won't.  But this organization has a history of thinking they have a QB and that's enough.  I'd rather they build up everything else first this time.

Experienced. Coached and very ready for the moment. We just flat out weren’t in all three phases.

But Dallas was a better matchup?   With the way that game was called, people feared that idiot and Dak, more than Brady and Arians?  Their run D wasn't that great either.

I loved they hired their HC. Guy is not smart. I think they’ll probably even fire him and promote Moore. For our sake hopefully not.

Sounds like their DC will get a HC job

How do you beat Brady and the Chiefs is the puzzle of the day. Nobody knows. Most would probably add ARod and the Pack into that.

We were the last to do it at least

Where does Lane stand?  Been dealing with an injured knee and it ended his day. Been dealing with the ankle so much before this season.

Just rewatched the slobberknocker game: watching it calmly….the Eagles got whipped. Bucs D KNEW Hurts could not beat them passing. Game was OVER at 17-0.

Bucs get ball. Drive down and score TD. Bad roughing call, but may not have mattered.

Eagles:- 3 and out. Hurts choice of keeping it on third down was wrong but it would not have mattered. Bucs D played the run all the way! Bad punt!

Bucs: Punt

Eagles Drive 2- got one first down by a Buc’s penalty. Then a bad throw by Hurts on 3rd down. Punt.

Bucs: Another TD. 14-0

EAGLES: 3 and out. Hurts sacked on 3rd down.

Bucs: Drive stopped at 20. FG. 17-0.

Eagles: Decent momentum. Nice 4th down conversion. Another 4th down. Bad pass! Turnover on downs.

Bucs: 3& out. Sack on 3rd down.

Eagles: PENALTIES! Nice throw to Watkins. Then bad interception!

Bucs: some momentum then 3rd down sack

Eagles……27 seconds left in half….nothing.

Halftime

Eagles: Holding, then should have been an interception (Bucs guy dropped it). 3 Bad throws. Punt

Bucs: 3 and out. Punt….Reagor muffed. Turnover.

Bucs: TD Gronk. Who is number 54? COMPLETELY LOST! 24-0

Eagles: 3rd down, bad pass. 4th down interception!

Bucs: 1 play TD. 31-0

Eagles: 3 and out. Overthrew Watkins. Deflected pass. Bad pass. Lane Johnson out. Clark in.

Bucs: 3 and out. Williams big play. Singleton sack on 3rd down. Punt

Eagles: screen pass to Smith, big play. Scott run for TD. Hallelujah they scored! 31-7

Bucs: some first downs then punt.

Eagles: start at their own 7.Bucs D already moving to bend but dont break defense. Eagles mount a drive and score TD with Gainwell. 31-15 with OUTSTANDING catch by Smith on the 2 point conversion.

Rest was nothing important.

Bucs knew Hurts couldn’t beat them. Period. No way they were letting the Eagles run game dominate. Brutal. Next year ALL opponents will make Hurts beat them. Could be a 5 win season if that happens. But hey, I predicted a 4 win season this year.

And Cunningham, I too wear Eagles gear all year. My golf bag is Eagles. Driver head cover is Eagles. Hitch cover on my truck is Eagles. Window sticker on my truck is Eagles. Every shirt I have outside of work clothes is Eagles. My tie I wear to church is even Eagles.  DIEHARD Eagles fan! I Bleed green…my son says. And I am SOOOOO happy they won a Super Bowl in my lifetime. I will always have at least that to cherish.

And the cowpies lost! THAT made my day a LOT better. I had no expectations today for the Eagles…only hope. But this team was a 5 win team IF there schedule had been "normal”. I get it. You play who you play. So they won 9 because of it. But they were equal to a 5 win team in talent.

But they won't pick where a 5 win team should in each round.   Even 8 wins would have moved them up to pick 12.  But hey... it was some fun to watch ...lol.

Now we move forward on all the huge baggage. Malik got paid this year. Wentz is got paid this year. DJax got paid this year. Alshon Jeffrey still getting paid. This team never really had a chance. They did pretty well considering how much money wasn’t on the field for this team. Graham, Brooks and Seumalo add to that. Cox wasn’t great. Think he really needs to be dedicated this offseason or his play is going downhill. Sounded like he was questioned about his fitness coming into the season. He’s going to need to put in the work at his age now. Dillard and Reagor did very little to help.

We move on from a good 2021 draft.  We won a SB with a ton of dead cap. Time to focus on the roster, who is here, not who isn't or what anyone is paid.

We need a good draft and a few FA's and we need to pick the right FA's at the right positions. Howie doesn't know defense in the draft to save his arse,so I suspect we go LB,CB maybe a stray lineman in FA. It's sad though because this draft is loaded at the D positions we need and Howie isn't the guy to select those

So when you approach FA how do decide whom to get? Cost isn’t a factor?

So now, after being bashed repeatedly,I still opt for a WR in the draft and I would not go past round 2 getting one. If we wanted to trade back(even a few times) and still get picks in round 2,I would be fine with that, but we need at least 1 stud SOMEWHERE
