Mike Williams of the Chargers is a FA to track also. Good fit.

Oh good back to paying huge money with no QB LOL(this is a losing proposition here). With Herbert around why would they let him walk now???

I made another mock (I know y'all are excited). IDK what we should do at DE,but I was wondering if we stacked the secondary(as my mock shows) that would give the D line more time to get home(also adding a young DT). If that would work then I have 1- Gardner-CB(which gives us an immediate shutdown at both corners) 1- Lloyd-LB-Utah  1-Olave-WR-OSU(nice bookend to Smith) 2-Daxton Hill-S-Michigan  3-Devonte Wyatt-DT-Georgia  4-Rasheed Walker-OT-Penn(ifwe got him here could be the steal of the draft, some have him ranked alongside Neal, the apparent first OT off the board)

They suggest he’ll cost 4 years at 70 mil

I'll draft Olave and save the loot.If he pans out(he should be another stud),then we are good to go getting a real QB in here.

So,I have a question because IDK.; With 3 round 1 picks,do we have 5th year options on them all? or Just the first pick?

Nailed it! I was hoping to see Minshew by NO later than the 2nd possession of the 2nd half. You are definitely right in my view. There was nothing to lose. Season was on the line!!!!

Anyway IDK if this was Howie calling down to protect his ego,or the inexperience of Siri (or blatant stupidity). Our "star" QB scored exactly ZERO points in 30 minutes. Not even a freakin FG!!! So yeah,  let's keep doing what we're doing because it's working SO well. It's like the Ali rope a dope, except we forgot to throw a punch LOL. If your starting QB is killing the rest of the team, then you put in your BU(who is essentially JUST as GOOD) and hope. Could it really have gotten any worse???? Nah keep running what we have because we're kicking their arse LMAO. We sandbagged and had them on the ropes!!!!(Oh wait there is only 15 minutes left??? LOL) So,you make your 1/2 time adjustments and your "star" QB is still crap. Why are we paying Shew then? Just cut him and free up the roster spot

There are many reasons I know that. Shew is not what we are looking for in our leader.

Yet I’d argue he is better then Hurts… if they have an open competition next offseason my guess is Minshew wins in a land slide. Unless Hurts comes in completely reformed as a passer

Hell Gardner Minshew with backups kept pace with Dallas and there starters for the first half.

Saying something that we tend to start faster with Minshew at the helm then Hurts hell can we do a two QB system Minshew for the first half then Hurts comes in for the 2nd lol

Is there any solid QB we can sign as a FA? Just wondering as I really do not want to test any in this upcoming draft. Just saw Hurts QB rating after 3 rd quarter and it was pathetic. 36 QB rating. garbage time TD helps his stats some, but he is not the answer. As Joemas said, he cannot roll left and complete a pass if his life depended on it.

I could make the case for Baltimore being better than us. Chargers beat us. Not sure who else you’re arguing is better than us but finished with worse record.  You obviously have a long list.

If we won vs some good teams with Hurts, and then ended up with 6 wins having Nick Mullens play 10 or 12 games..  and say another team won 9 games, beat us with Mullins, and also had a schedule where they never beat a winning team, had a much easier schedule, and on that schedule beat a bunch of teams that just lost key players on top of their starting QB for that week...

Would you feel confident in saying..." good chance we are better than that team" ?

It's the same thing, for some reason you can't or won't see it with us??

He actually did once to Goedert... reason there was a huge window to wind up and make the throw. But still he actually made it.  There was another time too, I forget the game, but he did it twice that I saw.  Twice in 20 games though,  not good.

All of them...  1st round picks.... a team can put a 5th year option on them after their 3rd season.  Ideally though,  you want to lock them in long term after year 3 for much cheaper than the FA price.

We will, we will ...Mock you!   I love Mock and Roll, put another dime in the jukebox baby!    I wanna Mock!

All good, it's input to the conversation.

As for your point about DE, it's been my biggest concern for a while now with the long term outlook for this team.  Graham,  Kerrigan, Barnett... who will be here next year?  Sweat... is he reliable to play a lot of snaps?  The rookie 3rd rounder looked good, but is he a full time DE?

I expect to draft one in round 1. But my concern is we draft one due to position, end up with ok DE, but pass on a stud LB or DB.

Joe, There are not any DE's available where we pick in the first basing off of most mocks. So we either trade up to grab one and lose a pick, or we trade down into the 2nd and gain another pick while drafting a DE at the proper place...

Yeah as much as we'd like to we still won't fix all the holes this draft. Basically we would need 7 picks in 2 rounds(even by passing QB) to really fix things(provided they are the right picks),so when I mock, it's always frustrating that I can't take all the guys I want and I have to move 2 positions to rounds 3/4,so I tried working backwards. I take round 4 first and think who is the best vale pick and work up. Of course I could come up with a zillion trade back stuff, but need to see how the off season shakes out. So if I can fix 5/7 I would consider that a successful draft

That's what I saw also. After round there three are no "impact" guys. We can get a solid one maybe, but nothing special. I think Howie will be extremely busy on day 1

OK this could be another reason to trade down, not having to re-sign 3 different guys to LT(providing they are all studs)

Most mocks show 6-7 DE's ranked in the 2nd round. Granted some teams may have a couple ranked in the first but fact remains we would need to move back to the end of round 1 as a minimum to make a smart pick at DE. There are some DT's available round 1 Joe....

No at least nobody that will be better then Hurts or Minshew. If you don’t trust the QBs in this class options are to ride with the guys we have or trade for a Vet.

We probably will trade him….if we draft a QB.

Because your not remotely thinking of all it takes to be QB1. You just think….Shew reads a defense ok. But he’s a caricature of himself. He’s not a leader.  He hulks up. Head butts something. Then throws popgun balls.

I’m liking Thomas. Think he could fit. Positioning is a tough call. That draft database has him as our second round pick.

I love how you call out Minshew arm yet Hurts throws just as many if not more lame ducks then  Minshew.

As for a leader think Minshew is just fine as a leader hell he was so much of a threat to Lawrence in Jacksonville they felt they had to trade him.

What your not taking into account of a QB1 is probably the most important thing the Ability to pass which time and again Hurts has been lackluster at

Shew was a threat to Lawrence now? Hahaha oh I needed that this morning. Hurts definitely needs improve as a passer. He’s shown some good things throwing the ball I think though. I’m thinking if we draft Zappe in round four then can we trade Shew for something close to that.

LMFAO Hurts led us to zero points in 30 minutes, such a great leader!!! Shew started in jax?????

WHY would you trade a 4th round QB for a guy who started already? Your logic is baffling
