I’d say how they took Reagor ….WAS them just taking their guy. I believed we should have traded back because of all the depth at WR. I believed we could have added picks and still got Reagor, Pittman, Aiyuk, Higgins…..

All Howie heard was "we lacked speed",so he went with that and passed up the NFL ready guy. Also the guy who avoided the high 5 because Howie didn't pick his guy. He needs to listen to his coaches and pick the guys THEY need

It’s in drafting quality and then coaches developing. You can blame Rosie on his part. But you can’t blame Gannon….yet.

I said I wanted to see the new staff this year, how they developed the last draft picks,so I will wait and see. 900 yards from Smith as a rookie is awesome considering we didn't pass much for 7 weeks (or run for that matter either it was the Hurts show). Siri needs to show me his development also as a leader

The more factors that get used other than... this guy is better than that guy.... the more the chances of messing up the pick.

If a guy falls and the gap is large….you’d be correct. But if somebody doesn’t drastically drop to you then we are talking about the tiniest differences in grades of players.TE graded at 89, WR graded at 88.5 and a Pass Rusher graded at 88. I can’t agree with just taking the top guy.

I will be crossing my fingers on day 1. I have no hair because I pulled it all out with the Reagor pick. Howie needs to nail 4 picks in a row. I must admit he does well in the later rounds, but we need to him do well in the EARLY rounds(Smith was a no brainer so not giving credit there lol)

Was Smith the right pick? We gave up Micah Parsons to take him.

Great, let’s listen to Gannon and build around him. How’s that work out when he takes a HC job elsewhere next year.

LMAO, sure what other WR do we have??? The scraps from when Alshon went down? Reagor sucks and you want him as WR 1 with Ward as the other out? That would pretty much kill off any development with Hurts as a passer

SO you find a better coach to replace him since now you HAVE the players to work with. It's always fluid with every team

Everybody called me crazy when I spoke about how quickly the price was going to get to 50 mil about five years ago.

Dude .... don't even try it.   You were arguing with me when I said the exact same thing.     But Hurts will come at a discount???   Lol

Or just take the best player at the time...didn't have to be a WR?

There was good WR depth in 1985... SF was wrong trading up to get Rice?

Get the player, that's it.

You have players you guys got a different system though

Here is a thought...."F " the number grade.   Just say I have this player ahead of that one.   Again...this idea that we have like fantasy football that you have to take each position is just dumb.

If we miss drafting a WR this year because we get the next Gronk or 3/4 of the next Legion of Boom....who cares.    If we get 2 WRs that prove to be long term studs...who cares.   Just get the player, don't worry about the next 31 picks until it's your turn again

If you want to use that strategy in round 1, where you predict who goes in between your picks that are close...because you want everyone on your list.  Then fine.   But don't focus on 3rd round WRs as a factor when picking 15th

Just saw the Rodgers contract

They'd better draft well cuz they're not gonna have much cash for free agents.

WRONG... you pass on Lawrence Taylor because the next guy might not use a 3/4.   You pass on Jerry Rice if the next coach wants to run the football.

Let me explain in 2500 words why 1 + 1= 2.

That’s what they did. Don’t think anybody else had Reagor that high. So they took their guy. They were wrong.

At what age do players get pigeon-holed into systems?   High school... Jr. High?   9 years old?

Why were they wrong.    What was the theme of the 2020 draft???   Speed.   Which is stupid.

I mean... Reager vs Jefferson.    Who would have Reager ranked higher?    Was it do to 'fit" ...ie. trying to get a speed guy instead of necessarily the better player?

This is part of making something simple into rocket science and how it works against you.     " Jefferson was a slot WR"  ....really?     Overthinking it = failure.

2021 draft...was Parsons the better pick?  Idk yet.  Still got a good player.  Wasn't the DL a bigger need when we selected Dickerson?  You had your boy there the big DL... was it the right move?  Idk...but we got a good player.   Did we need CB round 3... idk, but we got a nice player in Milton.

Get a good player and move on.  Do this for a few years and your roster will be strong...then you strategize how to finish it off.     This year we need good players from any position..

His cap hit was going to be 45 mil. So signing long term they could backload it to make a run at a title the next two years. Then have to pay the piper.

Jefferson was the second best WR on his college team. Don’t think he was a no brainer going to be as good as he is. We develop TEs fantastic. So outside receiver with speed was more of a need. Just pick the really good speedy guy.

As some points you need to complete the team puzzle. You have FA and the draft with trade options. Parity of the NFL…..you have a great offseason would launch us into becoming a contender. If we got two FA that worked out and hit on a few starters from this draft and add a bit of depth…..how good can we be?

What if your scouts are telling you it looks like the 2023 and 2024 drafts don’t look to have any talent at a position? Does that make taking that position more valuable this year?

Yes, 2nd best WR but probably the 3rd best WR in the draft! Too many Coaches missed out on him including the Eagles. We wanted Speed, so you reach for Reagor? No! You draft the best player at that spot and you cannot convince me the Eagles had him ranked that high. If they did, then our scouting department needs an overhaul. Trade back if you want Reagor as you suggested above.

I do think it is a scouting issue. Same thing with what No Mas is talking. If your scouting is right then you can make decisions. Bad scouting and you can miss. It shouldn’t be a situation of not taking Jerry Rice to take Lito Shepard. It’s decide between Rice and Deion Sanders.

Which, in their position, I agree with. Don’t backload everything to try and be mediocre. Clear the cap so you can keep your SB window open as long as possible. Then you can even extend that window by backloading.
