I was actually thinking Bellicheat had done really well with those ‘tweener’ type guys.

Yes...because you can change scheme from season to season, game to game and drive to drive.  That's why I'm not worried about it now.

How about we poll non Homer fans.  Because some of these people think Miles Sanders is an elite RB.   Let's see what Smith brings... once he establishes himself as a legit player... then the next step is how he performs when he gets the attention of Hill.  Much like Kupp, Hill still produces while getting the attention from the opponent.   Goedert also has to get to that level to be close to Kelce.  It's his blocking that puts him closer,  not so much the receiving part that would help a young QB.

You really love to down play Geodart receiving ability it quite hilarious.

In 15 dude had 830 yards split reps to start the year and was his first full season as a starter.

Kelce first season as a starter 862 yards and he played 16 games 2nd full season as a starter 875 yards. 3rd year as a full time starter  26-27 years old Kelce broke out you know who else is 27 this year Dallas Geodart

Hill vs Smith- Hill was meh as a rookie with better QB play Smith gave you solid play with mediocre QB play

Don’t recall anyone calling Kelce one of the best TE after his first full season as a starter or Hill so how can we say what Smith Geodart can be when they have compared well to there better counterparts

You are more a commentator on hindsight. I do like to read how things are going and put myself out there on opinions if the unknown. Much more difficult….and much less safe.

It's not difficult or safe... it's just you need to feel smart and important " I called it"  who cares.   Do you get $$ for that?   I don't watch college,  have no interest in players before they get into the league.  It's probably why I can see Hurts is awful and you can't.    If you predict a draft pick... I'll give you a Ham dollar if it makes you feel better.

I'll get in on the conversation once I see the roster.  But as I said, I'm already thinking we mix up the fronts and the schemes.  Why do we need to worry now?

Hill brings a whole factor with him. But yep I’m on the Cheetah side here. Smitty has to do it before I can put him anywhere near that level. What I saw is he got caught a bit by TB jamming him at the line. How bad an issue is this for The Slim Reaper? Easily coachable/ move him from X……somewhere in between.

Where you calling Hill one of the best back in 2018 though after only 1 good season that’s where this convo all started.

It’s not debatable that Hill/Kelce right now are better then Smith/Geodart my point all started that nobody was calling these guys great in there first couple years

So now Goedert counts....  because it's stats and first full year as starter.   You think he is on Kelce's level as a receiver.   His blocking is the element that makes him a complete TE and in top 10 conversations.... Kelce has been a top 2 TE with either Gronk or Kittle for years now.    He gets #s while getting the attention... let's give Kelce and Smith a chance to improve first...  because they were already that good when Mahomes took over was my point.  They are not there now, never said they couldn't get there, but it will take some steps to get there.   Big steps.

Remember JuJu was great when the attention was elsewhere,  not so much after.  Smith and Goedert need to get there first....then prove they can do it while getting the attention in order to get to Hill/Kelce level.

And my point was that they were there when Mahomes took over and have been there since. Hard for a QB to mess that up.  I'd like our skill guys to be at that level for the next QB.   That's either a huge step from those two, or we add a very good weapon to the mix.  I'd prefer the latter because if the two of them step up...while we have option #3... could be scary!!  Put the QB right into Mahomes/Burrow position, then we see what he can win.

It will be a nice change for our team if this happens.

So I guess now Howie and Lurie are ok with losing their Cox. LOL anyone no how to make a GIF or meme?

Apparently we got Cox back on a one year deal.   Can't wait to see how the #s were manipulated.

According to the Let’s Go to the Phones podcast, the Eagles will bring back Cox on a one-year deal for nearly $15 million guaranteed. The podcast added that Cox would be able to earn back what he was slated to initially make in 2022 in the form of incentives. NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark added that the Eagles wanted to bring back Cox and just needed to bring him back for a lower salary number.

The Eagles released Cox with a June 1 designation Wednesday, avoiding a guaranteed $18 million payment if he remained on the roster at 4 p.m. The move will save $2.1 million in cap space, according to Over The Cap. Cox would also count $12.1 million in dead cap space.

I read the an article last year on this, was the most complicated contract I have seen with all the restructuring etc... the point was we could get out of the contract with June 1 designation via trade or release and have it work in our favor.  I'm not remembering the 4pm deadline or how resigning works.  My guess, they basically split the dead money in half and are using that to get him on board ... not sure if it saves in 2023 though?  But they got him for another year... with probably the agreement that he may get traded before the deadline, maybe he gets control? Who knows?  I can't see letting him walk for nothing after this year?  But who knows.

AFC West has some prime WRs!  Plus the QBs... some good football to watch this year.   For the younger fans..  picture the NFC being like this for about 15 years or so.  Maybe not all 4 at the same times...but multiple years when there were only 5 playoff teams per conference.. 3 from the NFC East was a regular occurrence.

OK, Joe. I am looking at it from where they will be in 2-3 years. I am not going on their body of work to date, which is probably the main reason we disagree. Smith was a rookie. Goedert played what? 3 years and most of that was as a back up to Ertz. I feel Hill will get hurt in the next couple of years and be done. Similar to what happened to DJax. Kelce will be 33 this year. So he is near the end of his career also. If you look at this way, you can see my reasoning.

Anyway, Now that we released Cox, I am fairly certain that DT is going to be the 1st pick for us. Georgia DT. They have 2 1st rounders projected....

Even resigning him we will draft a DT. We need the next Cox on this team..... Davis?

Since we know Howie won't draft a LB in the 1st DT or maybe CB makes sense

Yes Davis who has been on the mocks I have been posting that noone pays attention to lol. Although I really HATE passing on 2 top notch LB's,we know how Howie is,so I assume we will take one later. We also could be setting up for trading back all 3 round 1's for later 1's and more round 2 picks. I wont speculate on those,I will just run my mocks with the picks we have. I was disappointed that we didn't go after a top FA,a few still hanging around, but I really thought we would jump in early(unless noone wants to play here which right now is understandable lol). I felt Robinson would have been a great fit opposite Smith. DJ Chark was my other choice

I have(you can reverse 15,16 since they are BTB) Ojabo,Davis, and a WR(I prefer Olave but any top WR will do-depends if you are looking for a tall heavier  usually slower possession type or you want to go full bore speed on the outside). I prefer the speed and agility outside and use the nTE's as possession receivers, but I can understand both trains of thought(like an Alshon type)

Hey Stine. If you want a WR in round 2 instead of 1,I will take this guy @ 6'4" 208 that runs a 4.44   40  https://www.profootballnetwork.com/christian-watson-ndsu-wr-nfl-draft-scouting-report-2022/    If I absolutely had to wait until round 2, I would be happy with this pick at 51. Now the level of competition means he may look better than he should, still this is a BIG WR with a HUGE wingspan who has some giddy up for his size. Dare I say doing this would open up a spot for a round 1 CB or LB. He is really the only guy I could/would target in round 2. The talent level falls off after that(although one could argue for Metchie also). But by round 2 we need to have a WR IMO and Watson would be my last call

Potential is great... never said either could NOT get there.    Buy they are not there yet. Adding another weapon could not hurt.  Those 2 have a ways to go... not just about posting #s ... but how defenses have to fear and game plan for them.

My point remains, I want the next QB to be in a non fail situation...where disappointment lies in not going the distance.  Similar to Mahomes and Burrow as they entered the league.

Rams WR's- Kupp, Robinson and they still want to re-sign OBJ. Thats a nice trio to lean on

3 days ago-Chark (ankle) is signing a one-year, $10 million contract with the Lions, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
