3 days ago-Chark (ankle) is signing a one-year, $10 million contract with the Lions, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.

Oh well didn't know he was already gone too. No real FA WR;'s left to get now(sigh) we always wait around lose out because Howie is CHEAP and won't go the extra mil to get guys that will help. Stuff like this really ticks me off,so although we may pick up a scrap from the bargain bin,we really DO need to hit WR this time. Would not surprise me if we chose another late rounder as well(Justyn Ross comes to mind). So I think we will see alot of trade backs, more than I anticipated, as Howie tries to add as many players as possible. There are fine players through round 2 and into early 3. Still feel we should pick up a solid(see good) player in FA at ANY position. Reddick was a nice addition, but I mean an impact type player. Still waiting around Howie???? Too busy with you own contract to get busy???? Disappointing, then again as an Eagles fan, I am used to it

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/ndsus-christian-watson-mightve-won-the-nfl-combine/ar-AAUCpb2   This actually may be the way to go. I will be watching to see how far and fast he moves up boards. Nice snag in 2,but even if we traded back at 19,we could/should still be able to get him in late 1. Although I think Olave is the best overall NFL ready WR in this draft, with all the needs we have, I could see us going this route. Only Howie knows for sure. Bother me vs the competition he faced,so that could be a reason he falls, but with all the physical tools he has it would be hard for me to ignore him

Can he run routes? Does he catch the ball or drop it? I don't want another Agholor.

Sounding like Falcons are closing in on a deal for Watson have to wonder what happens with Matt Ryan if that happens.

Can’t image Houston would want him or that Ryan would want to be in Houston. Indy could make a ton of sense for Matt Ryan.

Browns land Watson sounding like 5 total picks 3 firsts

Now where will Baker land

Not sure I understand what the Eagles are doing this off-season so far.

Reddick made sense been one of the best pass rushers over the last two years

Cox move just seemed complicated

really no other moves so far

Very smart to avoid the Watson mess. Heck of a talented QB. But going for him and him not choosing you just leaves you with the fallout. Believe Rosie played this one well as I don’t think Watson would ever considered us.

Landry signed? He’s better than many of the guys you’ve been listing.

I don’t see him anywhere in the ballpark as the three(counting Williams) Ohio St guys.

????   I can't follow your thoughts on Watson.  First he is absolutely coming here, you would give up 6 picks 3 in each of the first 2 rounds for him....now Howie is smart?

1.  How do you know Howie didn't try?   2.  What would make you think Watson would have wanted to come here?

I'm not giving Howie any credit here, I'm sure he knew Watson didn't want to come here and I'm sure he talked offers etc.  Did he make a formal offer?  Who knows, I'm sure a bunch of teams did and nothing was close to final until Watson decided where he wanted to go.   Really, I don't see Howie doing anything that made any difference either way?

I'm giving credit to Howie for avoiding the Devante Adams mess... lol.

Yeah. My only issue is the competition he faced(not really in a power league).Still,if you look at his combine performance the numbers were terrific for that size guy. I put alot of emphasis on shuttle times and cone drills, this shows me how "elusive" they can be, which is an important factor(at least for me). I can see this kid climbing into the lower end of round 1. I would take him there. he reminds me alot, POTENTIAL wise of Cooper Kupp

No, he would be a later pick AS I STATED. I SAID if we DIDN'T take a WR with 15,16,19,he would be a nice pick LATER. he still has rough edges unlike the top 4,5,but when you get compared to Calvin Johnson, you'd better take a look

SO it looks  easy because he didn't face any top notch DB's, but he's making nice catches and not letting defenders strip the ball out. Also his 4.4 speed shows up here burning less than stellar DB's. But I like his potential to be possession type(Alshon) WR. I don't think he has actually been challenged much and we know Hurts lacks in the precision pass dept and I feel this kid would handle those errant passes well. He's not afraid of contact. They used him alot at RB,which is a nice option to have although I prefer he concentrate his efforts as a WR

"Physically, he's a freak of nature. He's 6-4, 210 pounds and ran a blazing-fast 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds, then exploded off the ground with an 11-foot, 4-inch broad jump and a 38.5-inch vertical jump.

Not only that but his 10 1/8-inch hands are tied for the second largest among all wide receivers and tight ends at the NFL Combine.

According to Next Gen Stats, Watson earned a max-99 athleticism score with his Combine performance. For context, it's the first time ever that a wide receiver of his height has had a maximum score. Calvin Johnson, arguably the most physically imposing receiver in NFL history, scored a 92 at the 2007 NFL Combine."                     This kid needs to be on our radar if he's not already. When you get compared to CJ it's time to take a look. Could be the steal of the draft

At that price they're welcome to him

Agreed! I would make a wager for that.

Reminds me of when the Vikings gave the world to get Herschel Walker

The Cowboys used those picks to build a champion.

Multiple championships.    Followed by the absolute worst ownership move in firing the guy who built and coached those teams.

So tons of BIG moves and we are asleep as usual. I think Howie is afraid to spend cap money because he knows his back loaded contracts will use all that up over time(that's the only explanation I can come up with as to why we sit silently on the sidelines when we NEED SO MUCH) So,we re-signed some guys we had, which is fine but that doesn't IMPROVE a dang thing. I thought the point of rebuilding was to make your team better without making it worse. The re-signs don't make it worse, but we never addressed making it better with FA acquisitions which means Lurie is counting on Howie 100000000% for the draft. So, we were so busy with Howie's contract,we forgot to sign any FA players 😂. soon,we be able to walk and chew gum at the same time

Yes... I'm more interested in building through the draft at this stage too.  I'm ok with everything so far.   If i had to go one way or the other,  I would say he could have been more aggressive in moving on.... trading Cox and not paying Kelce.   But we need Kelce for this wild 2022 run we are going to make?      For me, 2022 will be all about this draft.  Get players and even better if we add more good picks in trades.   Repeat of last spring would be great.

Eagles have to get out of the dead money hell they are currently in. That's not gonna happen overnight.

I'm good with building through the draft for the next year or 2 and being careful with the free agents..

the Eagles also have 48 players, some of who are still on the roster, accounting for over $62 million in dead salary cap space.
