This is because PFF just takes into consideration their assignment on each play.... get a 1 , 0 or -1 on each play.  Degree of difficulty doesn't come into play.

I mean honest if you want to trust in PFF https://theeagleswire.usatoday.com/2020/09/01/philadelphia-eagles-darius-slay-nickell-robey-coleman-cb-rankings-pff/amp/

They also graded Slay and Coleman extremely high to start the year maybe it’s just our scheme that is the issue doesn’t suit CBs

I mean I find it hard to believe a guy that has been one of the best slot Cb and one of the best CB in football have just fallen off all of a sudden

From what Adam Caplan said, the Eagles have the easiest defense to figure out in the NFL because they rush the same four guys on every play and never include any wrinkles.

So it is going to make the secondary look a lot worse because opposing teams know how to attack us.

I’m also still on board with the idea of trading Ertz. Force Doug to change up his play calling can’t rely on the 2 TEs as much and force Wentz to rely on new targets not Ertz.

On top of that Ertz doesn’t seem to be part of the long term plan and we seem unlikely to give him the deal he wants. Plus should still have good value possibly get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him or even look for player to aid us maybe a LB

Many games Ertz is our only offense.Yeah let's trade him for more draft picks we can't develop

This is a good example of what I have highlighted. I was surprised Mills graded so well, but I think his numbers against the run will be a lot worse.

Awful

Lmao so let’s just stay stale with Ertz as our only weapon makes perfect sense. Sanders seems to be developing Reagor is flashing, Geodart seems to have developed(oh and has been better then Ertz this year).

So yea I’m all in for trading Ertz who is soon to be 30

Stale is our whole offense other than Ertz. Noone is flashing,it must be lightning at your place.I think we need to trade Alshon before we trade Ertz

2 games in and Goedert is better than Ertz.Got it(it's TWO GAMES LMAO)

Still have Wentz on one team, dropped him from the other. My BU is now Tannehill on that squad who found a home in Tenn.I may keep Wentz 1 more week, but unless he bounces back week 3 he's out

I never imagined I would be thinking of dropping Wentz from my teams but I can't trust him in my " for  money leagues."

Here's my evidence.Despite there being NO FANS in the stands,Wentz and the offense were booed by virtual fans. Now IDK how much worse it gets than that!!!!!!

Hehehehehe...thank you brother I needed that you're wonderful lol haheheheheh. Whew !  I needed a good chuckle l... It is just NOT Wentz alone.  Doug and his New coaching staff are missing in action.

"All we need now is some speed WR's". Nope,we need the fundamental positions. Lurie has to be ripping his hair out

We finally got the speed to go deep and what do we do? dink and dunk, dink and dunk,  I think the ONLY 20 yd pass was the interception in the End zone everything else was 5 to 15 yd passes....Wentz does not look right.  MM was given a lot of credit for Lamarr Jacksons success. Wentz is going in the wrong direction.

PPF rated Goedert higher last year.  Gotta be honest now, Ertz gets targets and needs that to get his #s, he doesn't do much for you blocking and nothing after the catch. I don't think he works well in a 2 TE set because no advantage running the ball with what should be a blocking advantage with 2 TEs... and if Goedert is playing the in line spot that was Ertz's before, now it puts Ertz in place of a 3rd WR, you are slower with less space to work with in the passing game.  I think Ertz works best as a single TE in a 3 WR set.

Some changes I would make for this week's game.

Ward sees an increase of snaps, Reagor sees a decrease. I don't think his route running is good enough right now, and we need to create more easy throws for Wentz. I would have Reagor backing up Desean at the Z. Desean is going to miss time, and I would rather see Reagor spending his time learning this spot, since he may end up playing a lot there later in the season.

With the open roster spot caused by Seumalo's injury, I would call up Burnett to see what he can do. He had a good preseason, and JJAW and Hightower aren't giving us anything. At some point we have to give someone a chance to earn a spot in the lineup.

On defense, I would bench Robey-Coleman and Riley. Strap deserves a shot, and Edwards should be out LB1 until he loses the job. Gerry, Singleton and Bradley can rotate at LB2. They may as well use this next game as an open competition for the job.

I wouldn't do anything else at this point, but Mills and Maddox are on a short leash.

The team has to do something. The lack of a preseason is an excuse, but there is clear evidence they have made some bad decisions on the roster/starting lineup. A failure to address these mistakes would just be compounding them at this point.

This some real Sh$/...you in a zone today brother...My confidence level on developing players and then sending them to other teams where they're often successful .  They're just unable to play for us. Nate Herbig over Pryor or Mailata both third year players, still waiting or not good enough until they get in another teams roster.

I think Ertz would do better on another team going forward.  I think his best play is behind him and those days of 2018 where he was a bigger part of the offense are gone.  I think its better for the QB to have 3 WRs .... probably same for the running game.

Or we just rotate the TEs more where its not so much 2 TEs until red zone or other specific situations

True, but then,if we lost Ertz what is your 2 TE set?.You know we rely on that alot

Every team had a lack of preseason. That is not an excuse. Our team functions on 2 things An O line to establish the run and a D line that gets pressure. Both are non existent

My thoughts are we wait until the end of the season.I see no reason to trade him right now.if we keep losing, then I might because the season is gone, but IMO it's too early.Actually we are missing Alshon,or a player like him that we don't seem to have on the roster

If we lose to Cincy(I will look the matchup up later, but they have 2 good WR's and an up and coming TE as well as Mixon),then IDK if we can beat anyone without a little luck.Maybe we can beat the Gnats, but right now that's not a given either. My prediction of 5-11 may be generous as 58 pointed out(sheesh)

At this point I would call HINES Ward lol

I think the fact we rely on that is what hurts us

Geodart has flashed quite a bit so has Sanders. Plus if you think this team is 5-11 what’s the point in keeping Ertz lol.

But your absolutely right trade Alshon as well I’m not afraid to make massive changes to this team it needs it because what we have now isn’t working

Ummmmmm did you not see the OL that let up zero sacks and no negative runs???? Miles Sanders had 95 yards 4.8 yards a carry a TD Scott also tacked on 4 carries for 19 yards.

OL established the run OL wasn’t the problem they can’t make Doug call runs though or make Wentz take care of the football

Dunno what happened to Wentz, from in the running for MVP to 2nd worst. Stuck a fork in this season before it started due to Covid, so was already prepared to be a casual observer and not give it much credence. For sure there will be "*'s" after everything mentioned about 2020.

We're locked into Wentz thru 2022 money wise. When games are too far gone, let's get some guys reps including Hurts at QB.

If we get to the trade deadline we have not turned it around to be competitive then I’m really looking at Howie to start the purge of this team move guys like Graham, Malik, Ertz, Alshon, Djax etc.(whoever we can sell the free up money that isn’t in the long term plan )

We can’t be a losing team that older plus 40m over the cap for 2021
