BTW I am not a Barnett fan, however re-signing him to a 2 year allows a buffer if we get Ojabo

Does it? I guess yeah in the medium term because you can sit Ojabo knowing that Barnett is at least a functional starter. He's a bone head but he's functional.

A safety valve in my view. I'm not saying we get Ojabo, but I can understand if we did. Maybe CB,S first 2,then Ojabo with a trade back IDK just guessing

I don't think it changes their draft approach. I think what it does is it says that aren't sure they can address the DE position in the draft. And they know that as of right now they can't count on BG so they needed someone else opposite Sweat.

Like the article said and I agree, not a fan of this re-sign,but it gives us a little leeway for now. if we find a stud he(Barnett) can sit. if we take Ojabo, then he can rotate while he heals and learns. IDK what Howie thinks. Could take a Stud edge first IDK

I feel we need another top flight WR,and maybe a decent one in round 3 also. Maybe later snag the kid from SMU(rough but promising). We really need a much better WR room and I don't think Hurts would complain. No word on parker,so maybe that is a no go. We still have a month to go

IDK I still have the same mock Davis,Karlaftis,Olave first 3.       Pitre-S in 2    Derrion Kendrick-CB in 3(this is the only one that bothers me lol) Pierre Strong-RB in 4 round 5- Fortner(C) Shaffer(G) Danny Gray-WR round 6 Jack Coan-QB(basically your camp arm). If we traded back once or twice, then Watson-WR and Ojabo appear on my board as late 1 or round 2 picks

At CB there is a HUGE drop off after Mcreary(early 2 pick). Kendrick is the first CB after that. he is a lower tier guy,so IDK if we go CB n 2,S in 3 but we need both

Nick Cross- the S from Maryland is really being under rated,so he would be a guy to target later

I just think why bring back Barnett. Like we know he's not very good and we know that he is a walking flag.

If you're not there, what's the point of all your other posts? The idea is to get better I thought stupidly. I'm just tired of striving for .500 bronze

We already started above .500 the first season. I would surely hope we actually improve with our strong draft ammo.

BS,that was last year when we won games against HS teams with no players and 3rd string QB's and took ourselves out of pick 5 in the draft(Gardner anyone??????). Now that we(hopefully) have to face real teams at full strength let's see how we do.If we get the same record I will be happy. The tank should have been last year and YOU KNOW it,so stop telling me what I think

I don’t believe we should have tanked. We could have really used Miami to stink it up. Perfect opportunity to get a high pick and root for them to lose…..not us.

IDK,I was glad he was gone personally lol

LOL except our FO  can't tell Miami to tank(kinda different)

Fake .500 playing HS teams with 3rd stringers. FAKE stats to go with it. Hopefully we can draft a few starters that can keep us at .500  Put a big asterisk by our record lol

I’m assuming he’s getting backup level pay.

Barnett’s contract numbers, which were not made available, will likely reflect his decreasing role. In the 2020 offseason, the Eagles picked up Barnett’s fifth-year, $10.051 million option for 2021. They eventually converted approximately $9 million into a signing bonus and pushed that money into future years.

If Barnett had signed with another team, he would have counted for $7.248.8 million against this year’s cap. It’s unclear if the Eagles will still eat that number or how much more he’ll count against the salary cap.    "guesstimated"

Yep we were pushing money back so we could beat those HS teams

1 win vs a good team would be a great start.

It's not that we should have tanked..talked... It's just bad luck that our opponents had all those issues.  The reality was there wasn't a win vs a good team and there wasn't really a close game where it was in doubt.   You can't blame the Eagles for what I call....the bad luck of having good luck.

I think Barnett gives us a decent backup option who is also solid against the run. As it stands right now he should be the 4th option as a pass rusher behind Sweat/Graham/Reddick

I like Tarron Jackson. Was ready for him to step up this season.

Dang playoff team…..why couldn’t they have just laid down and quit and got everybody fired to get a better pick. It was a tough start for our coaches. They kept things together and played winning football to finish off the season. How dare they grow and improve showing grit. If only we had more losers and quitters. No Mas and FL could have been happy.

If only we had their champion QB finishing off the season like a winner like he did against the Jags.

So we were trying to pickup Richie James. A good kick and punt returner with some receiving ability. But he chose NY instead. Sucks losing a guy to the Gmen.

Your missing the point entirely Joe was talking about.
You love to excuse of it was early season we were learning why we lost to good teams then act like we just turned it all around 2nd half and beat up on bad teams and backup QBs.

Then come playoff time we looked like the same team to start the season.

Odd that we looked the same against good teams at the start of the season and the end of the season.
