Wins vs loses are why we drafted him.IDC about stats. You can throw for 5000 yards a year and still be a .500 club tossing multiple game picks(see Jameis Winston).I want W's and I don't are how you get them

If he throws for 400 yards 5 tds and walks off the field with the lead... And the D isn’t doing the job that’s on Wentz???? Hypothetical sure but it’s a reality can’t put wins and loses solely on one guy

But that's not the case.his throws are errant and he';s tossing picks and forcing plays that aren't there. That's not on the defense

100% right now the games are his fault I agree but I wasn’t talk about right now we were talking his complete body of work. Sure were games in there that he lost but were games in there that he was the only reason we were in them also

I looked at every defensive snap until the TD that put them up big in the 4th quarter (54 in all.) Here are some takeaways.

Linebacker

I had Gerry for 10 plays where he either missed a tackle, got beaten in coverage or failed to make a play. I had him for two decent plays, one on the 3rd and long that he and Epps made a play to keep the receiver short but they converted the 4th down (which was a gutsy call) and another near the goal line where he assisted on a tackle for a loss with Edwards. But too many bad plays and not enough good ones.

Riley was just bad. He should have been beaten for an easy touchdown that was a bad throw to the RB. I counted three missed tackles and a bad angle on an end around. The Rams ran right at Sweat, Gerry and Riley multiple times with really good success.

I had Edwards for three good plays and two bad ones. So he's not a perfect fix for the defense, but at this point he should be given a chance.

Secondary

NRC was really bad. I had him for seven bad plays. He did make one nice tackle. But he was beaten several times in coverage and just killed us all day.

Maddox was bad as well. He gave up several easy completions where he got turned around. Slay was good. I had Mills for four good plays and two bad ones. Epps had one bad play where he failed to cover a WR at the LOS, and two good plays. I never noticed McLeod. Nothing good or bad.

Defensive line

Sweat was really bad. They ran right at him numerous times. Toohill was non-existent. Barnett's contribution was a dumb offside penalty. Graham was up and down. I had him for four good plays, including a sack and a pressure, but six bad plays. Twice he failed to set the edge when getting blocked by a TE, and four times when he lost contain on bootlegs, but it only really hurt us once.

The DTs played okay, but not nearly good enough for what they cost. I had them for five bad plays. Jackson (I think) had a chance to blow up a screen that he was blocked right into. It was a tough play, but we pay him to make them. It's kind of sad that I kept having to look up numbers to tell the difference between Jackson, Hargrave and Ridgeway.

I had Cox for two bad plays and four good ones.

It should be noted that on multiple plays, they doubled both DTs and left a TE on a DE (usually Toohill or Sweat.) On one play, Cox beat his man and would have had an easy sack, but we were in a really bad coverage and Goff had an easy completion.

Overall

I counted five plays where the offense was successful and we didn't really do anything wrong. They just had a good play called and executed. I counted 16 plays where we either made a play or played well as a team.

But on 33 plays we had at least one player make a bad play, and a lot of them were pretty obvious mistakes.

I would definitely replace Gerry, Riley and NRC. I am not sure we have another option, but Maddox should be benched if he doesn't get better. If Williams is healthy I would give him a shot. Toohill isn't ready. Avery was much better, which is sad. Ostman should get a chance. I am hoping Hargave and Barnett were just getting their footing and will improve. Is it too late to get a refund on Jackson?

I have been down on Mills but he was okay. I don't think he is a long-term option at SS, but he wasn't killing us like some others.

We scored 17 points last week. This team CANNOT win unless we score 30 a game. That is on the OFFENSE and the leader of the offense is the QB on the field

IDk what the issue is.Miscommunication or lack of players being in the right spot,or Wentz just throwing terrible passes. There is plenty of blame to go around, but it's the QB that needs to settle guys down,or audible and say what you want, but there is a "clock" in a QB';s head. When the count expires, that ball better be out and I'm not sure he trusts the Oline like he has in the past

LMAO-Who gives a crap what he did a year ago? W's and L's are RIGHT NOW

Wentz clock is broken lmao.... 3 secs is what they say the avg time should be to get rid of the ball. Wentz consistently seems to hold it much longer then that not always his fault sometime it is the play call but he has to do a better job getting rid of the ball faster(or maybe Doug has to find better plays that can get the ball out faster)

This is what I don’t get Semaulo is out Pryor came in for him... From what I have heard he played well coming in for Semaulo.

Yet we don’t commit to him???? Why would we make a change at LG now of Pryor played well seems like it should His job till he loses it no???

I was forced to watch TB for many years. What I am seeing is Winston 2.0 here.Flashes of brilliance followed by bonehead mistakes. We are missing the consistent albeit boring play that wins games

bonehead mistakes.

This is what is concerning me the most Wentz didn’t generally make boneheaded decisions. He might have missed a throw here and there but the decision wasn’t usually bad. Hence him having one of the best(think he was 2nd behind only Rodgers) in TD-int ratios

Doug Pederson doesn't commit to what the Eagles will do on the offensive line with Seumalo out. They might move Nate Herbig over from LG to RG. They have Matt Pryor, Jamon Brown, Jack Driscoll, Sua Opeta at the different spots.

So now we face Cincy. There D is not so hot.We can run on them*and we'd BETTER do it).Their O is as capable as ours. This should be a burner game. The O's and D's are evenly matched.Should be a close one

Please tell me moving Herbig isn’t even remotely a consideration he is just settling in at RG seems to have played well vs the Rams who have a strong interior DL why move him now

Yeah it's like he is in panic mode and trying to do it all himself.he needs to mature from that aspect.Reagor will take some time to get on the same page.Still we have Djax,we should be winging the rock downfield.if he has to overthrow it,so be it,but thats better than a pick or sack

Yup,lack of consistency again. QB's learn how each guy on the line works,so does the RB.it's about timing, and when you alter that, everything you learned and got comfy with goes out the window.it's a machine and when you put a different size cog in that machine,it works differently

Been reading quite a bit and lot seem to think it’s the fact Wentz doesn’t have an actual QB coach that will kick him in the a** essentially when he does dumb mistakes....Press is more his buddy not coach.

Riech Flip they would challenge Wentz and bite into him for dumb mistakes... Kinda hard to bite into your player when your trying to be his friend idk

Cincy has weapons, don't get lulled into thinkingthis is an easy win.if we win it will be hard fought.Mixon is no slouch and they have Boyd and Green as WR's.What is bothering me(besides the Wentz fiasco) is we are built to get pressure on their QB,and that is not happening. Our secondary has never been elite,we rely on getting to the QB.If Burrow has time he will kill us

On the flip side, their run D is pretty bad,so I HOPE we don;t give up the run game. The browns chewed them a new one last week on the ground. That should take some pressure off Wentz

"We could have had 300 or 400 yards if we wanted," Browns fullback Andy Janovich said on Friday.

That, of course, wasn't necessary, as Chubb's 124 yards and Hunt's 86 yards proved to be enough for Cleveland on Thursday night. Both Browns running backs also reached the end zone twice against the Bengals, with Chubb doing so on a pair of runs and Hunt scoring on a rush and a reception.

That, however, hardly diminishes the point made by Janovich, who Cleveland acquired from the Denver Broncos in a trade earlier this year. After the Browns' running game never seemed to have a chance to establish itself in a blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, Thursday marked the first true opportunity for both Chubb and Hunt to shine in new head coach Kevin Stefanski's offensive scheme.

And shine they did.

So,they have a terrific tandem(Cleveland).Sanders is a good RB.We can beat them on the ground if Doug will let us do it

Since Freeman is gone(Gnats),I would still look to add a FA RB to our stable just to cover our rears

I’d give Holyfield a chance before I went to a FA
