I absolutely think the goal for Howie is to receive more trade value..  pick wise...  in the combo of trading up from 15 and back from 18.    If we go 13 and 20.. or whatever,  his goal will be to get better swap of the return.   Your examples..  if we give up pick 101 to move up, if he gets better than 101 moving back...that is his victory.

After all my calculations(which could be fruitless) I believe we move for Stingley. This would still give us picks with positional players we need who we have show interest in. I know we dont draft CB's first either. But with the move up at 15 and down at 18 this would be the most viable/logical plan. Of course it's only a theory and Slay is not getting younger

For example Stingley-CB(11,12 whatever),then 20 something-Karlaftis-edge pick 51-Pickens-WR 83-Cross-S 124-Strong-RB 151-Ridgeway-DT 162-Luketa-LB-Penn st etc. Add to this whatever extra pick we add for the move back(assuming we gave up the 101 to move up). I would guess that pick would be another round 3 somewhere

Entirely possible

OK, Let me throw this out there. How about we try and trade Dillard for a 2nd round pick. Jets at 38 may be too steep, but Atlanta at 43 or even Seattle at 40 or 41 may be possible. Listen, Dillard can start at LT for probably 50% of the league, so why not throw him out there and see what flies? If we were to get a low to mid round 2nd for him, it would allow us to move up to pick 9 if our guy is there. I am not sure who "That Guy" is, but we will allow ourselves the potential if we want to pull the trigger......

Anything is possible. Who is the BU then?

We also have 5 TE's 6 if you count Jjaw,we don't need 6

Why wouldn't they just draft Cross? IDK

You want to spend a 1st round pick on an unproven OT, but not a 2nd rounder on a LT that you know will fill in a void?  Keep in mind that we all know draft picks after 15 are a crap shoot. Most work out in the first two rounds, but not all. Heck Dillard was a 1st rounder! Granted he finally has become a starting caliber Tackle years later. I definitely think a team would spend a 2nd on him to fill in a void. Question is who and how badly do they want Dillard. They would know that he does not fare well at RT so they would need to fill in the LT spot. Jets, Carolina, Seattle and Atlanta all would be in the market..... Others too.....

One thing we do well is groom O-Linemen. We could draft a BU later on and work him in later in the year. We still have Driscoll that can play both sides...

"rumor" says we are stalling on talks with Honey badger because Howie thinks he can get Hamilton. I feel that's a dumb reason if it's true

I think Honey Badger might be the one in no hurry to sign. He’s a heck of a player. He can always find a job.

The Eagles have never drafted a S in round 1 ....EVER.   50 years before Howie was born.    I don't see them trading up for a S.     I don't see them spending $$ on Honey badger either.

Think it’s even been confirmed they’ve had talks with Honey Badger. So they obviously have enough interest in doing it. They talked with Marcus Williams also….the biggest FA S. Some have called Hamilton the top player in the draft.

I agree with this type thinking fitting Rosie’s mentality.

OK, so this means that the Eagles Will NEVER draft a S in the first round. EVER, right? Just want you to confirm that for me.

It means I don't think they will do it based history.   So for me, until it actually happens, I will continue to think this way.  Rinse repeat every year with this stuff.  Similar to a punter having the " highest grade" not being what I consider BPA.

I will let it happen once, then I will consider it being a legit possibility the next time. As for now, I don't expect the safety to be the first pick.   I would love to see it simply to break the trend.  That or LB.

Yes I would think teams would want to draft the high prospect.   Rookie deal and 5 years of control.  Dillard will be a free agent after this year.   However, I do think it's very possible Dillard could be traded as plan B for any of these teams that need OL.

And I like your scenario, but I will add.  1. I don't think his value will be second round.  3rd would be great, probably 4th or maybe 5th.   I don't think the Eagles would trade him for below a 3rd rounder.     2. This leads me to think it's more likely he could be included in a trade up.    Probably a late 3rd round value ... via the draft points?  Who knows. I don't think Dillard and 15 gets us in the top 10.  I think his value may be more of the trade that would be our trade down or moving up with the 3rd round picks.

Example 15, plus Dillard and a 3rd to move up.    Or 18 plus Dillard...gets us better value in the move backwards?

Oh I'm sure all this news is out there.. along with QB visits etc.   I think a lot is open to " possibilities "  and that they like to keep the rest of the league thinking that way.    However,  I will be surprised if we see top investment in a rookie safety or an old one like Honeybadger....at this particular point in time.

It is possible I have him over valued. If they cannot get a mid round second than I would not trade him. He is a solid LT and that is hard to find. It could be why he remains on our team. Howie is always talking to clubs about his/Their players and I have to think Dillard's name has come up before now.....

I have zero clue what Seattle thinks. Perhaps they want all new YOUNG guys like we do,as in REBUILD?

EVERY rook is "Unproven" but every team takes that risk every draft and at pick 9 they have their choice of STUD players, why would they sacrifice that? Maybe they take their future QB there?

Not alot of condolences in that LOL. Seems to me we have roster players in alot of spots, but as fillers. We need talent depth. IDK any team that carries 6 TE's

GB, I am not asking to trade straight up for #9 pick! I am asking to trade my #18 for your #9 plus Dillard who can start at LT for your team game 1. So you potentially get two starters for one pick.

JJAW is a waste. I think that is a bust and we cannot even consider him as a viable option. If he cannot catch as a WR, why use him as a TE? To block? May as well suit up a OT instead...

IDK if I'm Seattle I'm wondering if he is that good why he's not starting. I have a potential rook OT I can mold to my team for 5 years. I suppose it's possible,I just don't think they would bite on it

Yeah,I was never a fan(as you know). Maybe this is a last chance try before we lose him. I know they love his blocking skills. IDK if he is tradable

There is enough film on Dillard at LT. Seattle knows Malaita and how good he is.
