Do you want the expensive WR? Get him cheap on a rookie deal. But you see league wide what a hassle teams are having with them. Having to trade them after three seasons so they force their payday

which is why once I get my 3 I draft one high every other year lol. Stay ahead of that payday game. The "keepers" will sort themselves out

NFL isn’t static. If you are basing almost anything on what happened twenty years ago you’re dead in the water. Adapt or die.

Howie doesn't adapt,he wont take a LB in round 1.if he does this year, then you can say he has adapted. Will believe it when I see it. of course not much need now with the FA acqustions,or I should say it makes it less pressing. he gets FA's because he HAS NOT ADAPTED. CB-same

I know you’ve dug so deep into this draft. Truth is….we have no idea what Gannon wants or needs. What he’s identified as that game changer for his D. All I feel like I know is that he didn’t inherit a team playing his style defense. We’ve seen him identify and bring in Harris at SS and Wilson at LB. Chose to keep Harris over McLeod. Wilson was a bust….but the idea seems clear. He needs coverage LB. Even the drafting of Jacoby snd labeling him LB. These are all signs. Brought in a coverage LB again in White. What is he truly missing to make his D really work? I think he’s identified that. So his guy he NEEDS is perhaps much higher on the board than everybody else Big Board. Think it was obvious he was missing what he desired. He ran some makeshift stuff last season. Think we could be surprised by some of the D selections. I’m very interested in what is decided though. This D is evolving and very much changing from the Schwartz philosophies. Let’s learn.

Yeah very hard to mock this year because this could all hinge on which player we take at 15/and or move up for. And Howie has this penchant for taking players nobody has heard of TOO early trying to outsmart everyone. last year was alot better,I hope that continues

Riddick was a huge move. Far from traditional. But he could be utilized so many different ways I can’t really say. Gannon has me guessing some here.

Well it's because he either cannot draft people there or he has little faith in the developmental coaches there. Personally I would like to see a MEAN TOUGH HARD tackling S,the guy that makes WR's say "don't call my number" lol

But is that really that wise of investment?

IMO it is. Keep them young fresh and hungry. You will find some you can hang onto and pay because they produce and are team friendly. Kinda like how we parted ways with Foles . Every other year means you can afford to miss one once in awhile and still have a top WR crew. I mean say we had smith and JJ already. The Reagor pick would not hurt so much(an affordable miss). And while this is not preferred, you can do better the following year and you can pick and choose whom to pay because they are all on rook deals,so you hold the cards

I have seen karlaftis at 22 on some boards. I have done mock Sims where Nakobe dean falls into round 2(that would be a gift at 51(but I got him there a few times)

Dean is incredible. Karlaftis was top ten the whole time until lately when nothing has happened. Johnson climbed. I can see that. Georgia guys have climbed. But this is all just BS mock drafters. Don’t see them basing it on anything than their personal opinions. Those don’t matter at all. Why would Karlaftis be top ten and fall? Like I said others have impressed through the process. But I haven’t heard any negative about Karlaftis to change anything with him. So think he works out for us. Pick him.

I tend to like him first because we shouldn't have to reach for him With QB's and others moving up,the fact he is not "the best" pushed him down. But IMO he is formidable enough. let the other teams fight over the top 3 lol

But every single WR that works out is holding out for crazy money this offseason. Pay or force a trade. You want three years of play and then deal with that? Or……take a guy that actually plays cheap on his rookie deal that you can resign? Seems to me there is much more value in many other positions of guys we could have for twelve years over drafting a guy for three.

Gotta use every possible method to get better. FA, trade and draft….just gotta put it all together. Think many here are super critical of our team because we know them in and out. Nobody has everything. Couple of big playmakers puts us in the running in the NFC.

No, because in those 2 years I drafted 2 more behind you. So you want to force my monetary hand? Go ahead and  I can trade you NP  for another WR pick to replace you. if I find a guy worth keeping of course I will pay him,but now that becomes MY decision, not the players

What QBs moved up? Have to see that to believe it. Think anybody is reaching for anybody this year ahead of round two.

I get bashed for saying we should take a RB. But see how that works? he draft a RB every year or other year,we keep them fresh and hungry and we can choose who to keep and pay. We can do the same with WR's

LOL Pickett,Corral and Ridder weren't even mentioned in round 1. But I bet they all go there. Pickett was once a round 3/4 pick,so IDK what you aren't seeing. Even Willis was WAY down in late 2. And we still have a week to go

Feel your neglecting the rest of the team. You’d have to go FA and pay all the others. We already spent tons on WR with draft capital. Hasn’t really been working out. I don’t like this plan. 22starters at least. Let’s get any of those and we’d be better than just focusing on WR. Can’t  see us getting anywhere doing that draft plan.

Depends how good you are at drafting. if Im drafting linemen I can have for a decade why can't a pick a WR every other year? I'm not neglecting anything IF I know how to draft(and that's the issue isnt it???)

Sure,I can get you 22 mediocre starters NP,and thats where you stay at mediocre. Key to the NFL is SCORE POINTS. Not gonna do that with middle lane WR's

Got Sanders last season this year. Just drafted Gainwell. Feel we either have something in Gainwell or Sanders steps up and proves himself. So we have to draft a RB NEXT year. How high depends on those two currently on the team. Hard to dress but so many RB. Sanders, Scott and Gainwell is all we can do. That’s a Gameday roster full right there.
I want good players anywhere. RB is just extra this season.

Nah we should have 4 with one we can rotate in thats has a different style. what we DONT need is 6 TE's. I'm not taking a RB high, but I would take one.great value since they are all being pushed down the list

Just can’t always hit on picks. Getting fifty percent is good drafting. Think you are overvaluing that every rookie works out.

Yep that's why you do it every other year 🙂 you made my point because rook contracts are 4 years anyhow

4 divided by EOY = 50%. if you MISS then you can hit the following year and go 2 after that. You get in trouble if you miss consistently,so like I said,it depends on how good you are at drafting. Reagor=miss,Smith=hit, now get me one more good one and you can go EOY from there because smith will still be on his rook contract

Not going to get the ball to the receivers if our D lets QBs complete 80 percent of their passes and stays on the field all game either. WR are important. Most other positions aren’t so reliant on the rest of the team like they are though. Stud LB can do his thing almost regardless. If the D shuts the opponent down the offense is better by default. You got Big 12 football on the brain. Don’t like that in the clutch. Gotta be able to get a stop.

LMAO OH like I'm drafting 5 WR's??? NO one every 2 years and you fngotta btch to btch. did I say I was ignoring defense? fact remains,if we can't score 35 points a game we're not going to the SB. very few SB's are won with a 6-3 score

I believe in there being a whole team. I’m not WR obsessed like you. We’ve invested a bunch but still are lacking. Your plan is fix WR at all cost and let too much else slide. Need to invest everywhere. The more you share the wealth the more balanced you can be.
