1-32,so there are 32 players with a round 1 draft grade because thats ALL you have to choose from.Last year was last year

Gotcha, all first overall picks are equal NFL talents in your mind. No such thing as rating a player based on his actual NFL talent and potential. Rating an individual player solely based on this is just a myth.

Right 1--32(and so on)

So the scout started Hutchinson’s Freshman season basing him as number one of the 2022 draft class? Seems easy.

Player 32 is rated above player 33?????

I’ll tell you how. By scouts rating them for nfl readiness and potential. They didn’t say he’s the number one guy. They rate him on the same scale used every season. Only then can you start getting into how he compares with the rest of the class.

The "myth" is you have a high standard and noone will reach it. You can only compare THIS draft class not ones 10 years back. You cant take player that is not offered,so 32 guys will be ranked round 1 picks even if they are worse than last years round 3 picks because the rest of THIS class is worse than those 32

By rating them, according to you there are no players after 15,so why pick at all in round 1?

No, thats why they are ranked 1-32 lol. Player 33 did not make my round 1 list, therefore I have 32 players ranked in round 1?

Ok, the Deep South Scout watches a player. The Northwest Scout watches a player. How do you think they do their job? Do you think the South guy is comparing his guy to a guy he hasn’t watched?

Yes, that’s called your Big Board. Not what I’m talking about.

Then why have a BB???. I assume the upper echelon staff decides who player 32 and 33 are. The scouts did their jobs, but it's not their decision who gets on the BB

No but SOMEONE needs to make that decision as to who makes the top 32

I suspect after all notes are taken that would be Howie? Fact remains 32 players will be taken in round 1 whether WE have them there or not

So your not taking a player at 15 because he's not as good as last years 15???

Alright let’s take a WR(since that’s always your main focus). You don’t think they rate his hands? His speed? Route running? Football IQ? Height? Weight? Strength?

They rate them in comparison to the OTHER players IN THIS DRAFT,not because Bosa went high

yes they are ranked high to low, as is every position IN THIS DRAFT,not what happened last year. Now maybe your WR gets taken and you have to choose someone else and maybe your next ranked guy is NOT a WR

Do you think the rating of his hands is only compared to his class mates? Or the obvious same system they utilize every single season? A system that every different scout can use the same.

This is the entire theory behind BPA

Put every factor together about an individual and you come up with his Rating of NFL readiness and potential. Scale is the same no matter what area you are scouting or what year it is.

Ratings are based on a number of things,it has zero to do with LAST year. I can't go back and pick a player from last year,I can only work with what is offered

Exactly NOT what I’m talking about at all

right and 32 players will make my BB,because they had the highest individual rating

Apparently you are the only one who knows what you are talking about

You are confusing "ranking" with "value" 2 totally different things

So you couldn’t decide to trade this year’s pick for next year’s pick?

If you have a trade partner which is not a given. You just assume teams will give you whatever picks you want-not happening

How do you decide you’d rather wait until next year to try and draft a QB instead of picking one this draft? If only there was some way of rating the quality of potential draftees.
