How do you decide you’d rather wait until next year to try and draft a QB instead of picking one this draft? If only there was some way of rating the quality of potential draftees.

It's always a crap shoot,we all know that. You take your best shot and hope your got it right. All teams do the same That's why we got Reagor instead of JJ. You rank them as best you can but you cannot compare them to previous draft classes. Reagor earned a ROUND 1 grade from us right?

If you have a trade partner which is not a given. You just assume teams will give you whatever picks you want-not happening

I wouldn’t assume anything. But I’m going to utilize every tool to make the most educated decisions I can.

You absolutely rate guys based on the same scale every season

Right, that's why you have a 1-32 rank list on day 1 of the draft. You cross them off as other teams take them, then you select the highest player you have left OR you bail(if you have a trade partner). But no matter that player was a round 1 pick on someones team list

Then each draft tends to have its own strengths and weaknesses. You should try and act accordingly. Don’t just go after the top QB in this class because he’s number one in 2022. I’m absolutely comparing him to every other class.

WHY? You can't go back and take last years picks LOL

OK I give up lol

So let’s say next year’s draft class is looking like the worst in history. You still trading away a first round pick this year for next?

You don’t ever consider where the strength is of each draft class?

He won’t show up and play because he lacks shooting? Or he just isn’t in it for the right reasons? Think if the guy had the intangibles he’d actually improve his shooting. All his skill and athleticism dues nothing when he just won’t even suit up or put in effort though.

Yes.i agree all the athleticism is irrelevant without the talent.    Basic...basketball = shooting....  QB = see the field and throw.

OK here is my mock(if we don't move around which it's highly likely we do)   1-15-Chris Olave-WR  1-18-Devonte Wyatt-DT  2-51-Pitre-S-Baylor   3-83-Marcus Jones-CB-Houston  3-101- DeAngelo Malone-edge-W. KY  4-124-Luke Fortner-G-KY 5-154-Tyquan Thornton-WR-Baylor  5-162-Luketa-LB-Penn st.  5-166-Hams boy-Ariza-P SD st  7-237-who cares? LOL. I did not select a RB this time,suspect we pick up one as a UDFA/round 7. Like Stine,probably all wrong too HAHAHA

How do you throw for over 300 yards several times without the ability to throw? This is in the NFL…not Pop Warner.

Watched Cam Newton take his team to the SB. Lesser passer than Hurts.

I thought Cam was the dude with all those passing stats early on.   Were they all from throwing screens and slants like Hurts?   Wasn't Hurts the guy who was like 30th to dead last in a those throwing metrics.... ie. Downfield, tight window....etc? Your eyes tell you he can throw at this level?   I'm telling you,  if he can throw at the NFL level.... there would be no question at all that he will be the franchise elite QB...and his payday of the 50 mil # would be coming.   Throwing is exactly what the issue is as to why the rest of the world questions this.

I’ll defer to you on that one

No...you have deferred to " Big Dom" for making sure the losers are good dudes.

Ham,who knows what next year brings? I have no crystal balls like you(do they clack together? Asking for a friend). The rank list will drastically change after next years season is over

OK, so here is my Eagles Mock. You will see that it will be different from almost everyone else, which is fine by me. I also do not think it will be close lol

15 - Wyatt- DT

18 - Dean - LB

51 - McCreary CB

83 - Cook - S

101 - Robinson Edge

124 - Phillips - WR

154 - Jobe - CB

162 - Ezeudu G

166 -  Allegeier - RB

237 - Hawkins - S

OK, Now you all can laugh. I want Defense and these re all possible should we stand put. However, I feel we will trade up for either a DT, DE, CB or Safety. Hoping HR does not screw this up.

Not laughing at all, your guess is a good as anyones. yeah alot different from mine(posted)

I really would like to have Davis at DT, I feel if we moved up he would be the pick. I'm not sold on Hamilton, but who knows what Howie thinks

Marcus Jones is only 5' 8" so a slot CB really. Not sold on this pick here,but.....

I’m thinking we give up 15, a third and a fifth to get up to around 11 to get that last top guy we are targeting. Then move down from 18 to restock the draft capital. So all these mock drafts have pretty much been a complete waste of time.

  • Author

Basically wishing to move around based on our individual player rating. Hoping somebody falls a bit we are very high on. Then moving back to get a similar level player(or exactly the same player) as we’d take at 18.

  • Author

If we stay put we could get 15 Williams and 18 Karlaftis. Be a pretty solid start. If the Saint don’t move up their taking a T. Most likely Penning, right? Who the Chargers expected to take at 17?

Ready or NOT ready you take your picks because you have them ranked as such,in an "order of importance" You can't say "well I'm not picking Hutch because he's not Bosa

They have to be good enough because 32 players will be drafted every round..There are 32 because those 32 are better than the remaining draftees???

Well, Say after the top 15 are picked. We only have 17 teams drafting after that. Those teams will take the player they feel is the best left on the board. Does it mean they feel that player is going to start next year? Maybe not. But they are drafting the BPA that is left on their board. That goes for the rest of the 17 teams left. Hey, they are all good players. It is that after a certain amount the level of talent drops off. This year the top tier of talent is the first 15 players. The next tier is fairly large from what I heard. Perhaps as many as 40....

Penning makes a bunch of sense for the Chargers also.

  • Author

Jameson Williams you couldn’t really consider first tier being injured, right?
