Because that "extra first next year” was from our first this year. That’s an obvious delay.

I’d call it taking a great deal. You get the extra 1st next year, you gain a 3rd this year we still have 5 picks in the top what 105 picks. Plus you gain a 2nd in 2024.

Id much rather have multiple high picks in the next 3 drafts vs 3 in just this years draft but that is just me.

Also might be in the minority group but I just see the Saints being a terrible team this season.

Dont have a ton of faith in HC Allen and QB Winston

Walker is the betting favorite to be number one pick. Ekwonu has tied Hutchinson in the odds.

Eagles pick up fifth year option on Dillard. Wow!

Didn't see that coming but it does make sense when you think about it.

It's the obvious move you make every year to get 2 extra day two picks.   If you did it every year from now on....each draft would have your choice of either the Eagles or the other team's 1st rounder... along with two picks in each of rounds 2 and 3.   Absolutely a no brainer trade.

One pick isn't worth sacrificing any of that.  Especially considering you just said that you don't see a superstar coming to us where we pick.

Michael Thomas could be a huge difference for them, I see them probably being a borderline playoff team.  If they don't make it, the assumption is that the AFC teams should be better, so the pick could be around 15-16.  Throw that in with our pick, not a bad place to be next year.

Doesn't that help his trade value?

As long as nobody is judging last year’s team or this year’s team on any expectations.

I have no expectations,  nor did I last year.   You gotta build something.   But you tell me which one player changes the game that much for THIS year in that 15 to 19 range?

Team overachieved last year considering most of the money was spent on players not …playing for us. Still carrying tons of dead money on this year’s squad. These guys have been…and are so handicapped I feel for them.

In the few one score games I foresee this season? Plenty. Things are tight in this league.

We’ll see who we draft….and don’t. Then when can get more specific. But would adding a first round pick corner make a difference this season? Yeah….I really think so. Would picking a stud starting LB? Yeah….I really think so. On and on

Then go into these players building with the team….starting this year….instead of 2024.

You must have really thought they were bad then...if you think they overachieved  beating those teams they beat with 3rd string QBs.  Which win was surprising to you?

Would be nice to see one score games vs decent teams though right?

So one rookie at pick 19 would make "Plenty of difference" THIS YEAR,  to where you would sacrifice that haul we got from the Saints?

Absolutely disagree 100%

But you specifically said that you don't see us getting a superstar.   Right?   So the rookie non superstar is making that much of an impact to where you sacrifice the huge haul from the Saints?

This from a guy every year who says "the meat of this draft " is exactly where we got the extra 2 picks.

Niners we’re steps from the SB. One score loss. Bucs Defending SB champs lost by one score. I think the Chargers were decent…one score loss. Like those?

That’s fine. Let’s trade away all our best draft capital for the future. Delay this team building and growing. Nobody gets judged….because that wouldn’t be fair. Everybody gets a pass on last year and this year because the team was so handicapped. Let’s just keep pushing picks back to the future. No need to try and win any Sunday. We’ll be the winners of the draft pick trades. Where is our trophy?

All I watch for each Sunday. Just thinking how three years from now we get an extra day two pick. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

You mean when we scored to make it close but the outcome wasn't really in question? Those type games?

We can start developing JJAW 2.0 three years from now. I’m so excited. Definitely carry me through the next three seasons just thinking of the windfall.

See that's where your mind goes.  3 picks... we traded one... and you go right to " let's trade all of them"   absolutely emotional response ...time of the month stuff thing... not thinking smart.  The rest of the world thinks the Eagles clearly won the trade.  But no..  we gave up Ray Lewis or Dion Sanders and our chance to win the Superbowl this year.   Oh the horror...this will set us back so much in our future because one guy didn't get an extra year to " gel"  with Slay, Cox and Graham.?

We had  Maddox rated as one of the top slot corners. Slay one if the best corners. So you can’t see how having one more corner could have helped keep top QBs from completing 80 percent of their passes?
