Despite this post,I will add that Ham and 93 made a good point, that 3 years from now, this may be a "cheap" acquisition. I hope it is. Onward we go into day 2 and Howie CANNOT whiff these next 2 picks

It could be a cheap acquisition the whole time.   Stay tuned for when the contract details come out.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/secondary/available/   Here are the available secondary FA's(S and CB's)  Honey badger still on the market

IDk what the "others" stats are. Brown maxed out at 1065 yards . I didn't stat the TD's. Maybe the "others" put up better stats? We also know that guys like Hill and Deebo can be used in the running game,Brown can't

The other thing about Brown...while ge had the stud QB throwing him the ball... Hill, Diggs and Adams had the mediocre QBs.  I forget their names?  Josh something... A A Ron... Pat something or other???

Didn't Carolina take an OT at 6?   So why wasn't Neal the pick at 6 ?

Giants probably had both OT's graded equally, but they knew or thought they knew some teams wanted the DE and were planning on moving to 6 to get them if available. They actually drafted well to avoid losing the players they wanted most...

IDK I don't run the Carolina team. Just like Stingley went with Sauce still on the board

And Hurts is medicocre

Joe thinks it may be LB. I'm not as confident but like 58 and I say, maybe there is a hybrid out there. With Riddick and White(only a 1 year) I think LB will be ignored, but who knows

Oh I never " think" it's going to be LB...never ever.   I've stated before, until they take an LB, I will always doubt it...that goes after round 1 too.   But after round 1, it's on the table...odds go up from 0.000001 % to 1 %.   Lol.    But yeah...I expect defense, with DB the probability...LB and edge as lesser odds.

If a TE or OL is that much higher on their board....even QB...I would be shocked.   But yeah DB or LB / Edge is my expectation

For all offseason you grasped the concept of getting WR for the next QB...now you need to see Hurts improve first?

BTW...stay tuned for why it's not even close to $25 mil a year.  I won't give anything until I see all the info first.  But I will put you at ease..   for now, Christian Kirk was paid more.

So my opinon is different than yours? isnt that why we are here?

Is he?  He needs to show me he is at that level.  If not, bye bye ...probably bye bye if only mediocre...and we finally set up a QB with weapons from Day 1.

Sure...but you are stating $25 mil like it's a 100% fact.... don't the real numbers matter?

Your opinion should be based on facts. Giving an opinion based on incorrect facts doesn't hold the same weight.

100 mil for 4 years is 25 mil a year??? Seems like simple math to me

So Neal might not have been the pick at 5.  Maybe the Giants take the OT that Carolina took?   It's very possible.

My opinion can be based on anything I choose to base it on

Maybe, but they took the DE first to take him out as a pick for us knowing we didnt need an OT at 6

Right... but we all know contracts are anything but simple...right?   Did Kirk get $ 25 mil a year?   Yet they are saying Brown came cheaper?  This is where I want to wait and see.

No matter,either way it's a done deal

I saw somewhere that Browns contract makes him the 4th highest paid WR in the league.

Of course that'll drop as time goes on.

My opinion is that I could be the best QB in the NFL.    Does that hold weight to you...because I'm not basing it on facts.  Just like you don't know the contract for Brown...or any result from Burks.   The opinion part is you think Burks is as good as an established pro bowl.... I can respect that possibility.

But again... no excuse now for Hurts.  To be honest,  I'm excited about this move in the big picture for the next QB.   Isn't it great a year from now we could be looking at a top QB prospect coming right into an offense with weapons.  First time ever for us.

Yes,I wanted to see him graduate from the 1 read and run before we spent the money. That's just me and it didn't work that way

Ham bases some of his opinons on "intangibles" or whatever else he wants to base it on. Thats why we are on this board,to exchange thoughts. That doesn't mean he is wrong because of YOUR fact finding mission. We are all entitled to our opinions no matter how we arrive at them

Titans fans aren't happy, plus they're on the hook for 4 mill according to OTC. No details on the new contract

Interesting they would eat 4 mil to get rid of him and take an unproven draft pick

So the numbers that matter.... 57 mil guaranteed.   The fact that the Eagles can spread out the deal over 6 years.  So how does $100 for 6 years lower the $$...  $25 mil to less than $17.   Now keep in mind that it's locked in.  Now locked in 2022...with all these other guys waiting to get paid.  They will raise the bar.  Plus I'm sure there is some backload to where he can get cut or redo the deal to even lower the cap later.

It's why I said it was done with the Eagles being in control.  These other contracts the players had the control.  Or will have it.

Yeah we will know after this year, the guesswork is gone

yes, very true

Biggest thing by far to be concerned about.  Nothing comes in at a close 2nd....nothing.

Right... so it's like me saying I wouldn't draft Burks with pick #3.   The facts would be incorrect.  Just like keeping on harping about $25 mill... it's incorrect and it matters.

Doesn't mean either of our opinions are wrong or we aren't entitled...but when we debate...we should use facts.   Pick 18 vs getting a proven WR locked in for decent money...not top of the league money.
