Doug talking to the media making it sound like JJaw will see an increased role

Yeah. I don't know what to make of that. In 11 personnel, he plays the X. So I would think he would be on the field for 20 percent of those snaps. And then figure him to take 20 percent of Ward's snaps. So that will put him on the field for 40 percent of the snaps.

I would guess Ward plays about 80 percent and DJax plays about 60 percent with Burnett and Hightower splitting the other 40 percent. I think DJax playing 80 percent like he did last week is too high for him.

That's a distribution that makes sense to me, with Ertz and Goedert each playing about 90 percent.

At this point I would put Ward out there since Carson like to throw to him and he can catch the ball, which seems to be a winning combination.

Jeffery, Ford and Reagor out Sunday, Cox is questionable.

Burnett probably gets called up. I would expect us to be in 12 about 80 percent of the time with DJax as the z and Ward as a Y/X. Last year they put Ward in motion a lot in this formation, and I would expect the same Sunday.

It will be interesting to see how they move the ball with this offense. My guess is that Carson will be pretty comfortable with this lineup and do well, especially since the Bengals D is really young, and should be exploitable.

May not matter. They may DT Djax now that we have no other seriously viable deep threat WR's. All our other WR's are "adequate" but scare noone

Something Pederson said early in his presser that I didn't have time to tweet in the moment -- with Jalen Reagor down, he called J.J. Arcega-Whiteside "someone that we're going to have to lean on a little bit here in these next couple of games.

Welp,if that's true, then it's make or break time for me.Although WR's tend to break out in year 3,he has shown me zero reason why we drafted him where we did

Since we are sparse on WR's(yet again) After watching the Browns destroy Cincy with the ground game,we need to do the same.Even if they score first we have to pound the rock this week and not abandon the run.I see alot of TE passes again(reliable target Wentz knows).Due to their young secondary another way to hurt them is using crossing patterns(if Ped know what those are)

Communication is a real problem  Mills going back to his college position at S and McLeod two games  with relatively inexperienced  2nd yr players at LB learning to Communicate with a New DLine  this is A lot ....no pre-season clearly has  NOT impacted teams like the Ravens... Or Chiefs ...like it has our Birds . This is the 2nd year in a row we are pathetic starting the season I blamed Peedy last year keeping players off the field to avoid injury. It took about  Covid limitations another contributing factor....gotta remind myself not to be too harsh.

I haven't really stopped to consider how the lack of a Human crowd is impacting the energy on the field playing to these empty stadiums . What do you guys think about the fake crowd noise. How has it impacted the players energy or effort on the field ?

IDK it's stupid. Alot of teams are allowing partial fans.OK so it's not a crowd of 80,000,but at least it allows some humanity into the game. The rules should be league wide. After all the new BS stats have come out(finally), this covid doesn't mean we need to stop life, and these owners need to let fans in,even if it's 50% capacity IMO

Yeah i can't quite understand why we have no fans at all in the stadium?

Florida ended all covid restrictions yesterday

Grandson had a good game last night

6 catches for 101

2 sacks

3 tfl

6'5" 240 lb HS junior TE

My RBs in my yahoo league are insane lol...

Aaron Jones/Dalvin Cook/Miles Sanders/ CEH(KC) these are my starters do two flexes in this league

Bench- James Robinson(jags), Fournette, Freeman(NYG) and Dobbins

Really hoping we can taking a commanding win this week... This team really needs a jolt of confidence.

Want Wentz to only have to throw the ball 25-30 times tops hopefully guys show him they can make plays so he doesn’t try and force stuff to make a play... Show him he doesn’t have to try and make a play all the time.

Hope Doug really leans on the ground game ride Sanders/Scott/Clement

Burnett and Arnold called up.

Burnett was pretty obvious. I expect him to play quite a bit.

Arnold may be in line for taking some snaps from Epps at the third safety, who struggled last week.

I actually quite like that move. Arnold may not be a great player and hell it may not work out. But I think its good that the team are going to find out. And we know Epps isn't very good.

Arnold made a lot of big plays in college, so hopefully he will bring that aspect to a secondary who sorely needs it.

The funny thing is that our defense has addressed the one glaring weakness from last year, in that we aren't getting beat deep very much. But now our problem is that we can't stop the short stuff. Arnold should help with that as Epps didn't do much in his snaps last week.

So my bold prediction for this week

JJaw sees the most snaps at WR say he will be around 70%
Djax will stay around his 60% of snaps

Greg Ward will stay at 30-50%

Burnett think will see most his reps in place of Djax so likely see 30-40%

Though we will likely be in 2 TEs majority of the game

If Dougs does truly plan to use more JJaw and for him to be more involved next couple weeks. I honestly want to see us get him involved early want to design plays for a Wentz to throw his way.

If he can’t get something going early just pray then we can see to make a change if start giving more reps to ward/Burnett

I think Hightower will see some snaps. It would be nice to get him going. A film breakdown showed that he was open several times against the WFT, but Wentz didn't find him. Obviously it was a bad debut for him, but hopefully he will bounce back.

I thought Hightower was on IR for some reason

I think they are coming after Roby-Coleman this week. Tee Higgins is 6’4”. I’m assuming he’s playing mostly slot(but haven’t seen the Bungals play yet). AJ Green is 6’4” also. Boyd still towering at 6’2” over any matchups. Could be real tough assignments for him and Maddoxthis week.

I really don’t know much about Drew Sample(their TE)....but I’m sure we’ll make him look good.

Boyd plays in the slot a lot for them. Green and Higgins are the outside guys.

If I were running the defense, Slay would be on Boyd wherever he went, with Strap on Higgins and Trevor Williams on Green. But I am not running the defense and that's really unlikely to happen.

Our Dline needs to win their matchups. We don’t want to be relying on our LBing corps too heavily. LB have to step up some in this game....just no other way around it. We need to see some viper poses from The Whitesnake! They need to be close to the line of scrimmage(or preferably behind). It’s not the Ax of Trot...but boy is it needed. He plays much better with a little confidence and energy. He needs to communicate with his teammates...but don’t let it take him away from doing his job.

LeBlanc on Higgins could work. How about the idea of using Slay on AJ and just shutting him down. Use Maddox on Boyd. He is the smallest of their receivers and speed wise Maddox should be decently able to hang around. But going with this I’m double teaming towards Boyd. Shading a S at least.

If I remember right the knocks on Higgins was his slow release from contact. Jam him and he doesn’t have a blazing burst to get away.

If I had my way Maddox would be only covering John Ross when he was in the game. But if he's going to play, I just don't see a good matchup for him. I guess putting him on Boyd with safety help would be the best case scenario, but it seems like a better answer is to bench him.

I think our secondary would have been better had we added Slay and left everything else alone. Jenkins at SS, Mills/Douglas at outside corner opposite Slay and LeBlanc/Maddox in the slot. Maybe the changes we made will pay off down the road, but right now Slay has played well and everyone else has been quite crap.

Would have kept Jenkins moved Maddox to McLeod spot(let him go).... Leblac in the Slot could have split with NRC... Personally I liked Douglas thought he got a bad rap doing well in Carolina it seems
