SO I put waiver claims in for JJ and Miles Gaskin.I should get at least one of them

We have no consistency moving players around, like tossing crap on a wall to see what sticks. Thats not a recipe for success.Too many injured players, which seems to be an annual event now. Changing personnel is going to disrupt Wentz's timing.Put someone in and say "this is your job" and let them struggle and get better.Wentz can adjust if he gets used to the players around him.All these changes just make things worse

I AM DONE WITH EXCUSES. The coaching stinks. HR has screwed us with the Cap and bad drafts. Everyone needs to go or do a better job. Wentz has been playing terrible. But I do not blame him entirely. His foot work is all screwed up. He is staring down the WR's. There has to be a coach in his ear to help him make adjustments during the game and more importantly at practice and in the film room.

We complain about injuries, yet Every team is dealing with them. SF steam rolled the Giants with out their Best DE, QB, TE and they had others out. Their coach planned what to do with what he had. Swartz calls vanilla defenses that are easily dealt with and he makes no adjustments. We continually undervalue the LB position. Gerry should not be in the NFL yet he is starting on our roster. We were to have resolved the WR position this draft...? Mills has no clue where to play. We cannot get pressure on the QB without blitzing.

We are probably in the bottom 5 and should be.

The more I look at the schedule, the more I am thinking my 5-11 prediction is overly generous. If we can't beat CIncy we aint beating the 9ers.Squeelers may be a good game(both are away games).Ravens-Wentz is not mobile enough(like mahomes is) to get away from their #1 pass rush. We may beat the gnats if bark is still out,so that's a record of MAYBE 2-6 going into the bye week

IDK 9ers played a good game last week

There's no way they get 5. I think 4 is a stretch and a struggle...

I watched the all 22 and here are some thoughts.

On offense.

Carson had a really bad game. Missed DJax on the goal line on a series we had to kick a FG. Missed Ertz wide open over the middle. Missed Sanders for a sure touchdown. Missed Hightower in overtime that would have been a huge gain. Missed Ward wide open on 3rd and 10 against a six man blitz where he was looking right at him. On the plus side, he opened things up when he started to run. That needs to be part of his game even if he takes some hits.

Hightower is going to be good. He drew two legit PI penalties where they had to grab him or he was gone. He mainly played the X and was winning at the LOS. Once Carson starts trusting him, I think he's going to be a really key part of the offense.

Clement is done. A dumb penalty on special teams that gifted them 3 points and added nothing in the run game.

Lane is hurting. He started off fine but got worse as the game went on. I would rest him until he's 100 percent. Peters is done as well. At this point Mailata and Driscoll won't hurt us, and could help us a lot.

Desean stumbled on the first play or that was an easy touchdown.

We have to stop calling one yard routes and end arounds for Ward. It's not his thing. Throw him a five yard pass when you need four yards. That's his thing. Rodgers broke a tackle on a similar play and gained nine yards. Hightower has the speed to get yardage. Call those plays for them. (Rodgers had a good game by the way.) Also, we have too many routes where guys are too close to each other. Just bad play design. On one play a safety was able to cover two of our guys who beat man coverage because they were in the same area.

On defense.

Gerry has to go. If you look at him next to Edwards, Edwards is five to 10 yards deeper than him on zone consistently. And if you look at how we were beat in zone, it was on balls going over his head over and over again. He's just unplayable at this point. Edwards isn't ideal, but I think he is a guy you can get away with because he's in position and can tackle.

Maddox was bad. Twice in key situations he got completely turned around in coverage that led to huge gains. He can't play outside corner like that. He also missed an easy sack on a TD drive. Mills was up and down. He missed an easy tackle on a screen play, had the PI (which I thought was questionable) and then blew a coverage on a TD. He made some plays, including a key pressure on the qb when we had a busted coverage, but overall I think anyone can make the plays he's making, and a better player like Parks would make the plays he isn't.

Overall. I am excited about Herbig and Hightower on offense. They are two young players who have done well. Peters is killing us right now. Lane is a trooper, but if he gets any worse, he should rest his ankle. I think Wentz will get better as he plays with Hightower and Ward more and learns what they can and can't do.

On defense, Parks should get a shot at SS when he's healthy. McLeod has done nothing the last two games good or bad. I have never even noticed him. Gerry needs to be benched. The dline played well against the worst oline in football. Hopefully they can keep it up against better competition. Williams seems to be an upgrade over Maddox. Epps played well in limited snaps. LeBlanc got beat some but he also made a lot of tackles that NRC didn't, so he's an upgrade. Riley was horrible when he was in there. He should be relegated to special teams.

Maddox was bad

Didn’t PFF grade Maddox as one of our better defenders???

The more and more I look at it I think it is Achwartz scheme that is the issue more so then the CBs.... Because how many CBS now seem to play well elsewhere but terrible here???

Not saying players are at fault to some degree but just odd to me seeing someone like Douglas now thriving in Carolina, NRC being one of the best slots and now terrible here etc.

With PFF, I think you have to be careful with their ratings. I cite them a lot, but I think they have some pretty big misses. With Maddox, I could see him getting positive points on some of the plays he made. There was one play in particular where he had really nice coverage. And he is a solid tackler. But the two plays where he was completely turned around were on their two touchdown drives and were absolute killers. Plus, it wasn't like he got beat by a great throw. He just made it way too easy on the QB by getting lost in man coverage.

I think Williams is a much better option at this point. He may give up completions, but the WR will have to run a good route and the QB will have to make a good throw. LeBlanc is the same way.

As far as Schwartz's scheme, I don't like it, but I think it has a chance to work if he gets Gerry off the field and Mills out of the SS spot. I wouldn't mind seeing Mills back at corner. We did change some things up against the Bengals. Mills and Maddox both came on blitzes, and if Maddox doesn't miss on one where he was unblocked, we may have won that game. Mills also had a crucial pressure that saved a big play. He also effectively benched Riley and NRC, so he isn't afraid to make changes. I think he should have kept Rasul, but that's water over the dam.

I was predicting 6-10,but sure that possible lol(OMG!!!) This begs the question that if someone wins this lame division  at 6-10 and another team is out of the wild card with  10-6 record,is this fair?

yeah I said 5 was overly generous

we signed Hakeem Butler to play TE

Well we changed from a 34 to a 43 defense on the premise we would get a pass rush, and that's not happening. Our secondary has been "iffy"(to put it nicely) for some time, but the key before was we got to the QB.Any QB that has 5 seconds to pass will kill us every time

Look Schwartz can field some decent Ds but When we had Jenkins at S d Hick/Bradham at LB our DBs were still getting beat.... I’m sorry just find it hard to believe we can’t find a good CB in the bunch yet guys go elsewhere and find success

Just said TE we do flex our TEs in the slot but that is usually Ertz....

The one big change is that we aren't getting beat for big plays. Having Slay follow their WR1 has helped that. I think once we sort out SS and LB we will be in good shape.

yeah but since we have noone we can use him anywhere on the field.it's so bad now,any move we make CANT make it any worse

My guess is Butler provides us another passing element for our two TE sets think we are not that high on Rodgers in that role....

On the flip side though Rodgers is likely now the best blocking TE on the team

Because they can beat us with the short and run game

We can use Rodgers on run plays and maybe stick Butler in as a TE or slot.IDK all I know is it can't get any worse than it is now

Doesn’t sound like Schwartz is tending to making changes. Maybe Parks getting worked in but LB doesn’t seem like he is going to bench Gerry

As I said on yesterday, the snap increase for TJ Edwards and Cre’von LeBlanc was matchup-based, not because team was down on Duke Riley or Robey-Coleman. Jim Schwartz said today he wanted more size on field vs. Bengals to play the run/Joe Mixon.
