I believe Fletch could be a great two gapping hold his spot on the line run stopping force to extend his career forward. But it sounds very clear he doesn’t think of himself that way. That the coaches don’t seem to be able to convince him that’s in his best interests. He was just quoted as saying how JG mostly wants him playing in the backfield….on the other side of the line of scrimmage.

Hargrave I think the price tag got too steep on.

Neither in long term plans for me.  Gotta move on...this year they all play together so there are no excuses for the QB.    Once we see if we have the QB of the future...or not... then we move on to the future of these other positions.    Both lines need to be replenished with some young talent.

It's easy to get emotional with these guys who won you a SB.  No other group did that here... but we don't need Jason Peters type situations here.  When it's time to move on, at this point we need to do it sooner rather than later. Either we need to pay a QB or look for one after this year, no time to be overpaying a bunch of 33 -35 year olds.

Went to massive contractual extremes to prove this point with Fletch. Very interested if all this woke Fletcher up

Yeah... paying him $14 mil... still top 10 in his position at his age....and ability to be a free agent next year.    Wow, really send that message.

We have to make decisions on whom to pay. Specifically at DT between Hargrave and Fletch. Money has gone through the roof at the position.

Dude...Cox is on his last year here.  What fantasy world are you living in here?   They going to play until age 40???

Only you can turn a discussion on whether or not to pay a DT into all about Hurts

We’ve switched to 3-4. Most consider that you need two gapping interior Dline for that. I absolutely think Fletch can hold his spot against the double team still. Think our old style of penetrating he can’t accel at now. Donald got like 30 mil. So 14 is only half that. Not thinking Hargrave will take 14….telling you that.

Drafted a DT in the third the season before. Traded up to draft a DT this draft. Are we just going to endlessly draft the same position here year after year?

Cox is 31. Don’t think it’s insane to believe he could play three more seasons….especially as a runstopping two gapper.

But it won’t happen because he still believes himself the elite pass rushing superstar.

So you are really contemplating paying Cox and Hargrave?   For the future.  But QB isn't your priority?   You worried about the $10 mil or the $50 mil?

Donald is a different player... Cox is not that guy.  I'm not paying $14 for Hargrave either.   Moving on after this year.

It's funny hearing people in the media finally figure out the obvious.  Murray getting the big contract and more young QBs about to break the bank...  now they are all of a sudden concerned with Hurts.   This idea that he was going to be a cheap option for 10 years, all of a sudden vanishing before their eyes...lol.

243 million, then people complain about ticket prices. When it was $300.00 a game you could take the whole family out for $75.00(including parking) Prices will keep rising as long as people tolerate paying them

Absolute hater talk. Hurts has made some absolute fantastic throws already in his very brief career.

Welp, you need to see the receiver first to maker the throws. Missing wide open guys can never happen again

Do we really need to overpay a run stuffer? Aren't they pretty much everywhere? The money comes in when you find an elite PASS rusher

I think ….I might ….agree with you here. Hargrave wants more than the 14 mil per contract. Cox I don’t think will embrace why you’d pay him at that rate for a few more seasons. So might have to walk away from both.

What I’m really thinking, that Seth Joyner agreed, that he just needs to add the timing throws. Make the throw….before the receiver has even cut and shook free. Gel with these guys to anticipatory throws.

The age... forget making it complicated.  Just move on.  You gotta either pay the QB or find a new one. In either case it makes no sense to pay big money for either.   Find the guy that's going to play next to Davis for long term.

We moved up in the draft to take a NT. That’s the usual thoughts behind many Dline in the 3-4. Two gap and hold your ground….let the LBs make the plays running clean.

The problem that you and Seth conveniently skip.... on timing throws the QB forfeits the running.   You think Hurts is programmed to forfeit running the ball?

But yeah...   timing throws ...football 101.   You get rid of the ball in 3 seconds, that's pretty much a timing throw.

Hargrave is 29. Fletch 31. Neither is at some outrageous age to consider keeping and extending two or three seasons.

It’s more like an In, Out…maybe a hook or comeback. Specific timing routes where the receiver and QB have practiced it so many reps that QB1 can just trust throwing to a spot right when he hits his back foot in the drop.

Then add in some crossing patterns with running quality(non flagged) picks.

13) Philadelphia Eagles

The Cowboys may be the favorite to win the NFC East, but they’re not the best bet. The curse of the East is real. No team has repeated since the Eagles in 2004. Philadelphia added to the roster in the offseason like a Call of Duty junkie does every time a new season of Warzone drops — throwing the credit card at every shiny thing they see.

Howie Roseman has done this before. But this time around, it feels more calculated. He’s older now and experienced the 2011 failed "dream team.” The Eagles already have arguably the best offensive line in the league. They added A.J. Brown at receiver, and Jalen Hurts enters his third NFL season.

Philadelphia drafted a brick house to anchor their defensive interior that already had Javon Hargrave and Fletcher Cox. They brought Haason Reddick in to come screaming off the edge and added James Bradberry on a friendly deal in free agency. Nevertheless, their success is tied to the success of their QB.

I don’t know if guys that can hold up against double teams are everywhere. I do feel Fletcher can do that job for a few seasons more.

Personally I think this is a bit LOW. I would think we'd be flirting with a top 10(if not #10)
