Wow saying Watson will only have a 6 game suspension

The drama can be over now and everyone can move on.

It was being reported the Browns were expecting between 4 and 8 games of suspension. Them picking 6 feels like they went for the maximum they believed they could decree without being challenged and deal with appeal. Let’s face it…I’m not sure the league actually has any grounds to suspend him for anything.

Who was miffed when we traded Ertz? Goedert was already better than him ?????

Alot of fans were, especially mid season in the middle of the night also collapsing the nice 2 TE sets we ran. I'm fine with Goedert but we need a good #2(and so the rollover continues)

Deebo received pretty much the same guaranteed in his three year extension vs what AJ received in four.

I also find it rather incredible we had the top rushing offense when our "star" RB didn't score ONE TD LOL. Make no mistake,I like the fact Hurts can run and some plays for him should continue, but if we are going to make an informed decision about shelling out a HUGE amount,we need to see that he is a COMPLETE QB. I remember back also when the FO said " PASS the ball more!!!" So for me all the chips are on the table. We know what the FO wants and needs to see and Siri needs to call  the plays that will please the FO and show that Hurts is the future QB here for another 4-5. Very happy er signed AJ to a 4 year deal and not a 1-2. If Hurts does what he has to do that will be a nice combo for the next 3 years and possibly beyond

I know we played trash teams last year, this year is easy again, but maybe we can play teams at full strength. last year was a bad barometer to use for "Prove it". I hope that changes this year

Good job by Howie. Nice for AJ as well because he should get more chances to shine than the "Henry first" offense he came from.

On the RB room. we had chances to get Howard back or Booker and looked at Hardy. Know Howard gets knicked up, but he did well for us. Guess we're going w/ 5 RB's, just a bit reticent about Brooks' 7 3/4" hand size. Like the youth being fed in around the roster.

From PFF;

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The Eagles have quietly assembled one of the NFL's top offensive lines, a unit better at run blocking than in pass protection. Injuries last season meant a lot of players gained valuable starting experience, leaving Philadelphia unusually well provisioned in terms of depth.

No team in the NFL averaged more rushing yards before contact than the 1.9 yards the Eagles did, and while having a rushing threat at quarterback certainly helps, they remain at the top spot looking at just carries by running backs. Miles Sanders was something of a fantasy football disappointment last season but still averaged 5.3 yards per carry behind this offensive line, with less than 3.0 of those yards coming after contact. The Eagles had 16 rushing touchdowns scored by running backs, and Sanders didn’t get any of them. Heading into a contract year, he could be an excellent candidate for a career season.

My take on this is the threat of Hurts running helped the RB's, obviously. Hurts' probs - which have been beaten to death - were not entirely due to his play. As for Sanders, I don't believe in a bell cow anything as it weakens a team too much if that guy gets injured or taken away. I also believe a strong RB committee approach should consist of at least 2 big guys and 2 squigleys, all of which must be able to catch.

Davis mentioned how strong Jergens is. They’ve been matching up a fair amount.

I was hoping for a Howard re-sign as well. He is reliable

As for the Watson finding, the NFL can still impose penalties

My guess is probably 20 to 30 phone calls have been made about this already.

It was really 19. The 20th was a butt dial.

Sanders really got a chip on his shoulder towards the media….even pointed at a reporter after scoring in practice today. I don’t think these guys should even be reading media reports. But Sanders with a chip….seems like it’s actually good in this instance. Need him playing with fire and aggression….on a mission to prove himself.

If it takes media accusations of him falling to second string….I’ll take it

You think it's coincidence the running game took off after Ertz left?

So you are saying good money management by Howie?

Interesting observation by Kempski, Jurgens withstood a bull rush by Davis - that's something!

We’ll see how it plays out. It’s a heck of a tricky contract. Their is an ‘Out’ that gives options. Spread over five years….of coarse for the signing bonus spread maximization. That fifth year has to be redone to actually keep AJ however.  But yeah….Rosie manned up a bit more with AJ’s contract than usual.

Don’t think he could take on but so much on AJ cap wise this year. Gotta remember he was under contract. So it was an extension. So only the signing bonus could be added this season towards the cap. Still a fairly small hit next season also on the cap. It’s a fairly capped out team. So only money Rosie could offer was future money.

Ohhh.  You mean giving out the next contract while the player still has a year left on the first deal.... and not waiting until it runs out and/or use the franchise tag?     Is there anyone we have been talking about that would be in that situation next year???  🤔
