You think it's coincidence the running game took off after Ertz left?

So you are saying good money management by Howie?

Was there alot of alternatives? Goedert was just starting to come into his own, we had no reliable WR's. The Qb was shaky(at best) what else was there? LOL

We’ll see how it plays out. It’s a heck of a tricky contract. Their is an ‘Out’ that gives options. Spread over five years….of coarse for the signing bonus spread maximization. That fifth year has to be redone to actually keep AJ however.  But yeah….Rosie manned up a bit more with AJ’s contract than usual.

Course. Coarse is a grade of sand paper

Manned up? He drives a hard bargain,he has been for years. Man up HAHAHAHA

Ohhh.  You mean giving out the next contract while the player still has a year left on the first deal.... and not waiting until it runs out and/or use the franchise tag?     Is there anyone we have been talking about that would be in that situation next year???  🤔

Nope,noone 😉

Team 1 – TG

R1: Jonathan Taylor, RB, IND
R2: Javonte Williams, RB, DEN
R3: Mike Evans, WR, TB
R4: Courtland Sutton, WR, DEN
R5: Jalen Hurts, QB, PHI
R6: Rashod Bateman, WR, BAL
R7: Melvin Gordon III, RB, DEN
R8: Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, NE
R9: T.J. Hockenson, TE, DET
R10: Skyy Moore, WR, KC
R11: Tyler Boyd, WR, CIN
R12: Deshaun Watson, QB, CLE
R13: Nyheim Hines, RB, IND

Fantasy mock draft, this guy picked at #1 Hurts is his QB(I would take him in 5 also) They agreed there were no D picks

Interesting observation by Kempski, Jurgens withstood a bull rush by Davis - that's something!

On both sides. Kind of shows how size isn’t everything. What do we know about Davis?

Jergens I think he straight stepped up in mind. Might have to throw him starting at RG. Sounds like the kid is very ready. Really sounding great for him pretty everything we’ve heard. It was said how much a fan Kelce was of him predraft. Lane has come out impressed by the youngster. This is after we just had Driscoll and Dickerson big guys look strong and play well. Stout is pretty money developing these kids. I’m sure has plenty of input on draft day too.

Think the run game game approach with Siri giving up playcalling. Steichen and Stout could run the ball. Stout is the man. Who’s the passing game coordinator even? Probably answers it right there.

Nope. Talking about having AJ under contract over five years. But the more I see it….the three years option seems like the steal deal. But once excercising that…we either extend and rework….or AJ probably forces a trade again.

He is a master at spending the money of the future. That’s why he survived the 2020 crap. Who else knew how to fix all that? Who else would take over his ship if you fire him? He got caught overextending capping out a terrible team. How bad can you get? We still playing for that on our cap. Another GM is pretty well strapped for three years if you fire Rosie. Which no new guy could possibly survive here. Rosie got everybody by the balls for sure here.

But I loved that Rosie forced the extension agreement as part of the trade. Made it worth it. Otherwise you can get stuck like KC with their T. Or worse.

  • Author

But now I’m really digging into the contract.

  • Author

Rosie gave him the public respect of being the fifth highest paid in the media. Big numbers of 100 mil out there and all.

But I see it as three years really at 19.

Think he got a deal through….that AJ agent could sell to his guy on the trade. But players need to do their homework on this stuff. Think Rosie got him on this. Mostly though because we get him on the last season of his rookie deal.

Ummmmm force the extension for who AJ???? Dude was already looking for a new deal. And it’s extremely common that guys that get traded on there final year get an extension usually already in place before the trade happens.

99% of the NFL since all teams generally work the cap the same exact way. Backloaded deals are the norm in the nfl

Name one team that hasn't had issues in the past 10 years?

LMAO tell me WHO refused to sign here because we couldn't pay. Howie has a set price,if they want more they don't come here. I think that is smart business not to overpay on whims. Howie sets his prices, take it or leave it and he re-signs guys still on contracts to avoid having to tag anyone(aka overpaying again). So tell me who you wanted that Howie didn't get and the reason they didn't sign here. WHO was the last guy we tagged?

UH he is friends with Hurts(you said this yourself) and add to that the fact he was tired of being ignored in the run heavy offense(there is no stats with that). he saw a chance to be with more of a passing team and a nice rook WR opposite him. What's not to like if you want a future as a WR? The money was enough, he liked this team and saw an opportunity. Not hard to figure this out

Don't try common sense with ham,it's not going to work. Everyone else does it right,we are the only team that does it wrong. We are the only team with cap issues, the only team that had disgruntled players, the only team that can't sign everyone in FA, the only team that can't get contracts that are perfect every time, the only team that signs players that get injured. As a fan 93 you should know all this by now

Seen these trades go down plenty of ways. Guys talk and you trade for them….but just look at the Chiefs and many others. Actually plenty wait until the traded player shows he fits. Then try to extend him. I think Rosie really maximized leverage. Said contract good or no trade….five minutes s for your answer. He threw big numbers that aren’t really relevant. Made it happen.

But yeah guys seem enthusiastic about the trade plenty. After you invested the leverage really swings to the player. So that part was crucial.

And we really paying 19 a mil for three seasons. From what I’m seeing. Not the BS 5th paid WR numbers ballooned for show stuff.

I don’t think everybody works contracts the same actually. You are half right. I’ll give you that. But Rosie been at it for a real long time. Backloading so bad for a four win team was terrible. I’d really point to 2019. It was time to cut weight instead of bury the future for those guys.

  • Author

But BG , how do you think a GM should run things? Make good picks and signings of coarse. But isn’t part of it judging the situation and the main goal opening a Championship contending window? Rosie buried us with 2019 and 2020 reaches just to compete.

  • Author

Now hes maximizing with the next three years money. You gotta see how tough our situation is. Capped out for the next three seasons. Is this team contending?

  • Author

To me at some point(s) …you have to step back and accept sucking. Don’t just spend for four wins or to be competitive. That’s rolling cap money that’s just lost.

  • Author

Trying to explain how much this system is killing us. Stuck in this cycle. You guys are accepting of it. But it’s keeping us down. Hard to get above tier two in the NFC ever like this.
