Love the terminology...  " elite player" when it comes Dax or any of the other guys this year...  but next year's Saints pick is just " random"    lol

Pretty much the subliminal type of stuff that gets used by all marketing today.

" person we like "  explained what they did or said.

Vs

" person we don't like"  tried to explain

Very subliminal...   love it " some random pick next year"    lol

IMO... I believe the appearance of the Eagles collecting a 2nd first rounder next year and putting them in a better position to move up for a QB has really gotten some people butt hurt.   They lose their sense of logic.   Because purely as a swap of assets, the Eagles made the right decision and should do it every year.

The issue comes down to player selection, as it always does.  But asset wise it was good business.

Right so you seem to miss if we take Dax,we don't have a second 1st round pick next year.     You do realize it's a key part of the equation?

Yes, we take the stud first round guy this year instead of having a random first round pick next draft. Totally comfortable with that idea on my side.

You seem to keep saying Dax or the 2024 2nd.   That's not the case

Yes, you either make your first round pick this year…or trade it away….I thought that part was obvious.

That’s exactly the situation, no? Elite guy we know….or random pick in a draft we don’t really know how it sizes up. Exactly the situation. 2022 draft is a known. 2023 all guess work, including the pick number from the Saints.

We should just always trade away our first round pick now? We traded up and spent more for Smitty. Traded up and spent more for Davis. Traded for AJ with a first. So you believe all these moves are wrong and we should just always trade back for future ammo?

I really don’t mind spending extra to get what we really want.

I just keep saying we lose the added second round pick in 2024 out of the deal. Of coarse we don’t get next years one if we keep this years and add an elite player NOW!

The question that hasn’t been asked, or pondered yet, is how much would it cost to trade for Cincy S Jessie Bates?

We know it probably starts at a contract at 19 mil a year. Draft picks?

Turned JJAW and a seventh into a sixth

Do you think anyone should get credit for that

I think Santa Claus should credit. What a gift unloading JJAW.

Credit goes to Howie and Lurie. I mean at least they got something for that blundered 2nd Rd pick.

On Amadi, apparently they are comfortable with the BU DB/S they have in place.

I see Arcega-Whiteside/Amadi trade as Howie's perfect moment to unload JJAW.

Cowpies' LT Tyron Smith got a hammie - surprise, surprise. Now way he makes it thru the yr w/o another injury.

So Cowpies - knowing Smith is injury prone - have 20 mill in cap space but let Collins go and weren't practicing their rookie Tyler Smith at LT. Smooth moves Jerruh - thank you!

So, which Rookie WR out produces A J Brown this year?

It might honestly be no one…. I could be missing a WR but did any of the top WR really land in a good spot???? Jefferson went to Minnesota and Kirk might not be a winner but he has always put up stats. And Burrow looked good before I bury as a rookie add in the WR he already knows seems easy to see him having a good year.

If Winston plays well Olave possibly. Jets rookie WR if Wilson comes back healthy and takes a massive step forward

Watson in GB could be a likely option with Rodgers.

Ohhh...  you just trade it away ...so the pick next year doesn't count then... lol.  You just give it away for nothing...lol

And stud vs random is hilarious.

Again...next year it's 2 weeks before the draft.   The Eagles have picks 15 and 20 or close to that.    They get offered pick 14, pick 99, a 2024 1st and a 2025 2nd... for pick 15, 20 and pick 200.    You wouldn't make the trade?

Answer is you do it in a heartbeat because that would mean the possibility of trading up for a QB isn't there.  This trade in your mind was negative because the media hype was all about putting the Eagles in better position to draft a new QB next year.

Just look at yourself... " stud" pick at 26 or later this year... but you say " random" pick next year...lol.    You think the Saints win 2 playoff games to where the pick will be 26 or worse?

Hurts has really gotten into your head, losing all logic.

Then in 2024 draft... if we had pick 15 and 20... I'm flipping it again.   2024 3rd, 2025 1st and 2026 2nd

Each year you end up with a 1st,  two 2nds and two 3rds....by continuing to flip the extra first you keep getting from the year before.

Idk...maybe " stud" that fell to 26 is worth ending the cycle immediately.  But that could be a lot of picks if done correctly.

But now I see why it would bother the Hurts stans... the main asset that was used to initiate everything was pick 16 from the Colts... and we can't let anything positive come from the previous QB can we.  Meanwhile good chance Hurts just fizzles here without anything in return but maybe a comp pick in 2026.

Wouldn't it be ironic if we ended up with a better pick in 2026 as a result of trading Wentz vs anything we got for Hurts?    Lol.

Is it?  Why did elite fall to 26?  And you knew this 2 weeks prior to the draft?  And " random " could be a very good pick next year.  But you know all this way in advance?

The cap space showing at the moment isn't really there for them.   They need rollover $$ going into next year.  Dak has 100 mil of cap space coming up in the next 2 years.  Ham style contracts that he wants the Eagles to do.

You don’t think we had/have a hole at S? Or you just didn’t like the S draft selection? I had a few I liked fairly high this draft. But trading back(maybe get your third back right there for Dean No Mas) and picking up Dax seemed like an easy call to me. Like I said several pass rushers long options. But the 4.3 S with plenty of versatility was the call for me.

We filled the hole with Tartt. let's see how that pans out before we panic about the ONE place we didn't get??. We filled a boatload of holes Ham and we all agreed it was not going to fill them all this year? You want a complete rebuild in a  year or 2? While that is an ongoing process give Howie some credit

Instead of having that first next year we take the elite S prospect this year. We really just lose the 2024 second round pick…is what it amounts to.

What's done is done can we stop backtracking about "what if"????. Howie made his choices, those are not going to change. This is our team, now let's see the coaches do their jobs.

There is no team going to pass up that offer weeks before the draft.

I'd like Ham to answer if Detroit offered  a 2024 3rd, 2024 1st and a 2025 2nd.... for the lesser of our 2023 1sts and a 2023 6th... if he would turn that down?

You guys fall in love with the current college players coming out every year.  That Patriots pushed picks back all the time and ended up with extra 2nd rounders the following seasons.   It's smart business.

Any issue with the Eagles to me is always player selection.  They handle assets, value, cap ...all that nerd stuff really well... their problem has been turning all that into the right players.

Actually my example is wrong, should be Detroit offering 2023 3rd.

See talks of Dillard to Dallas.  I don't mind trading within the division at all...  this particular case... the team and the position of LT.   I'm not even listening unless the discussion starts with a 1st round pick.

We knew there would probably be a team in need of a LT, it's ironic it could be Dallas.

But gun to your head , if there was a 30 second window in which Dallas offers a #1 for Dillard do you take it?
