See talks of Dillard to Dallas.  I don't mind trading within the division at all...  this particular case... the team and the position of LT.   I'm not even listening unless the discussion starts with a 1st round pick.

We knew there would probably be a team in need of a LT, it's ironic it could be Dallas.

But gun to your head , if there was a 30 second window in which Dallas offers a #1 for Dillard do you take it?

Yes, but it has to be 1st. He is a 1st Rd quality player.

Tyron Smith out for the yes so it's a possibility

But say we get a 1st next year... that's 3 firsts.   If we trade one for a 3rd, 2024 1st and 2025 2nd...  will it be considered a bad move? Passing up the stud in 2023 for some random in 2024?

If the Cowpies offer a 1st for Dillard he's gone.

Banking 1sts and 2nds is never a bad thing

I do

We traded Ugo Amadi to Titans for an assumed trade of late rd picks

I'd even throw in Reager. We could then give Jason Peters a call so he can retire as an Eagle and earn a possible Super Bowl ring.

I would give Peters a call..  I'd ask him how retirement is going.

That’s exactly the situation, no? Elite guy we know….or random pick in a draft we don’t really know how it sizes up. Exactly the situation. 2022 draft is a known. 2023 all guess work, including the pick number from the Saints.

OK, so how do WE know Dax is an Elite guy? Because you say so? He has not played one Down in a NFL game yet but he is Elite...? I would think we can say the same thing about next year's pick based on your assessment. If we do our homework like all did on Dax, we will get an elite player next year....

Well, I am not sure Dallas would give away their first. I can imagine a 2nd and a 4th. Or Dillard and a 4th for a 1st..... But I would take a 2nd and a 4th or 5th if that was offered...

I think this team has a chance to be really good.

Of course that might be my Eagles brain working overtime

Not even that, the Saints trade was made weeks before the draft so you can't use that hindsight.

Like my example,  if we could get a 1st for Dillard...  or if we got a 3rd, plus 2024 1st and 2025 2nd... I'm sure most people would prefer to have the 3 other picks.

Asset wise it's really a no brainer.

We tend to over value our players. That being said, I doubt anyone feels Dillard is a 1st round quality player as he is not a starter.....

No your brain is working fine, there is no reason looking at the roster and the schedule that the Eagles shouldn't win the division with 11 or 12 wins, maybe more.  You can make a case for then to be favored in every game except Green Bay who has all new WRs. Travel is very light this year too.

They don't have a stud name at safety but other than the questions at RB and QB ( which some people already think we have special talents) the roster is pretty solid and deep compared to the division and most teams in the league.

It does not mean we cannot get one if the team is desperate enough though...

Stine, what did we get for Sam Bradford?   When injuries happen teams will over spend to replace key positions.   I don't see us getting a 1st either, but for me to trade him specifically to Dallas, to replace what a lot of people call " the second most position"  ..it's going to take a 1st.  For me.

I'll do it for a 3rd to an AFC team or most other teams, Dallas will have to overpay to replace Smith.   Dillard is an excellent pass blocker from the LT position, that's never been a question.  The fiasco with keeping Peters and the injury losing his 2020 season with the emergence of Mailata is why he isn't starting for us.   So I don't think it's crazy to force your main rival to cough up a 1st in this exact situation.    But yeah, in general I'm with you it's high value currently for what Dillard has done so far.

But I also like him for depth this year being I want no excuses for Hurts and Sanders. So I would want value.

And I say fiasco with keeping Peters..   it's both on the roster too long. .but also the BS of keeping him at LT and moving Dillard to RT.  That made him look bad playing RT.    At LT I believe he absolutely is a starter in this league.

Hehe. i saw what you did there.

Nice dig about the safety

Lol, responded to the first one before the 2nd one popped up.  But yeah, it's why I said I agree in general... just with Dallas I'm asking for more.   But in general I do feel a contender would offer us a 1 for Dillard if there was an injury.

Not really a dig....we don't have a " name"  there ... doesn't mean the guys who will play there won't be good.    It's the one position they didn't throw cash or a high draft pick at.

Used to be people on here just worshiped at the strategies that the guy in KC used here....  " defense built to play with a lead"  lol.   Invest in CBs and not S.     Since that guy isn't here anymore, it seems that same strategy doesn't work, so they need to criticize and complain for the one position that they chose not to invest big this year.

Gotta manage the cap like Dallas.. don't sign anyone so there isn't a position to keep harping about.

That's my favorite all time genius... " defense built to play with a lead"  lol.   Every game starts 0-0. To be that arrogant or stupid to think that way is hilarious.

We need a $ 19 mil safety now... but Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman were good enough ...lol.

Damn, I wish it was 2025 already...we'll be holding 2 #1, 3 #2 and 2 #3. 🤑
