That's my favorite all time genius... " defense built to play with a lead"  lol.   Every game starts 0-0. To be that arrogant or stupid to think that way is hilarious.

We need a $ 19 mil safety now... but Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman were good enough ...lol.

I actually liked Coleman... Allen was a wash though...

My main memory of Coleman was him getting pancaked by Cruz in a Giants game.

Answer is you do it in a heartbeat because that would mean the possibility of trading up for a QB isn't there.  This trade in your mind was negative because the media hype was all about putting the Eagles in better position to draft a new QB next year.

Just look at yourself... " stud" pick at 26 or later this year... but you say " random" pick next year...lol.    You think the Saints win 2 playoff games to where the pick will be 26 or worse?

Hurts has really gotten into your head, losing all logic.

It will all play out. I was really high on that group that went towards the end of the first this year.

See talks of Dillard to Dallas.  I don't mind trading within the division at all...  this particular case... the team and the position of LT.   I'm not even listening unless the discussion starts with a 1st round pick.

We knew there would probably be a team in need of a LT, it's ironic it could be Dallas.

But gun to your head , if there was a 30 second window in which Dallas offers a #1 for Dillard do you take it?

Who is our competition to win the division? Our goal has to be to win the division. Can’t see helping them out like that. They are the team most in our way. No trade. No helping the cowboys. Especially not at this point where the draft and FA can no longer assist them.

OK, so how do WE know Dax is an Elite guy? Because you say so? He has not played one Down in a NFL game yet but he is Elite...? I would think we can say the same thing about next year's pick based on your assessment. If we do our homework like all did on Dax, we will get an elite player next year....

What’s better about a player next year than this? Especially at such a position of need….with a highly capable option

S that run 4.3 that can ball aren’t around real often.

We tend to over value our players. That being said, I doubt anyone feels Dillard is a 1st round quality player as he is not a starter.....

Not sure we have a very good option to backup Mailata though.

Good point Ham.

Boyz lost their LT at least for half the season, so winning the div is not my goal. I've seen predictions of us facing TB for the NFC. It's a long season, but I believe this team can do it.

Gotta figure we get a fourth round compensatory pick when Dillard leaves next offseason.

I think this team has a chance to be really good.

Of course that might be my Eagles brain working overtime

I gotta see this coaching staff show they can utilize these talents. Main concern is injuries. Everybody gets pumped with a full team in Aug. But I’m very optimistic. Should be a fun team to root for. Think they still feel the underdog role. Don’t think these guys are ready for that top dog mentality expected to win each week.

No your brain is working fine, there is no reason looking at the roster and the schedule that the Eagles shouldn't win the division with 11 or 12 wins, maybe more.  You can make a case for then to be favored in every game except Green Bay who has all new WRs. Travel is very light this year too.

They don't have a stud name at safety but other than the questions at RB and QB ( which some people already think we have special talents) the roster is pretty solid and deep compared to the division and most teams in the league.

Anything less than a perfect season we should as QB1

And I say fiasco with keeping Peters..   it's both on the roster too long. .but also the BS of keeping him at LT and moving Dillard to RT.  That made him look bad playing RT.    At LT I believe he absolutely is a starter in this league.

Why would you give him to Dallas then if you think that. They’d be able to sign him long term and fix a hole long term.

We had a record setting offense. I’d say that most teams prioritize passing defense over rushing defense. Big time pay goes to the sack artist…..not the run stuffers.

Lol, responded to the first one before the 2nd one popped up.  But yeah, it's why I said I agree in general... just with Dallas I'm asking for more.   But in general I do feel a contender would offer us a 1 for Dillard if there was an injury.

First round pick for Dillard seems like crazy talk. Can’t really think of anybody ever giving up a first for backup player.

We filled the hole with Tartt. let's see how that pans out before we panic about the ONE place we didn't get??. We filled a boatload of holes Ham and we all agreed it was not going to fill them all this year? You want a complete rebuild in a  year or 2? While that is an ongoing process give Howie some credit

We had the pick though….so another weapon could have been added. Frankly we could have traded future draft picks also to really go all in to fix things.

Is Tartt even making the team? Don’t see him as good enough.

What's done is done can we stop backtracking about "what if"????. Howie made his choices, those are not going to change. This is our team, now let's see the coaches do their jobs.

I voice my opinions as I go. That way you can’t say it’s just hindsight. Maybe I’m not correct and the Saints pick turns out to be top ten. I just really liked that grouping big time at the end of round one this year. Big time players. Was higher on those guys than many mid first rounders many years.

I’ve seemingly been higher on Epps than everybody else. Think sone are coming around now. But you can play three S fairly consistently. An injury and at least you can field two. Last line of defense. I really didn’t care for bringing Harris back either.

We don't know squat. pre season are games for the coaches to decide who to cut. I don't think they sign Tartt for no reason. He's still young and maybe our coaches are better? We have zero way to know until we see some game time play. Maybe he is a temp, maybe he sticks,we simply cannot guess right now. IDK what you define as "good enough" for a player who has never played with this team and coaching staff. As always, I will hold off until I SEE for MYSELF. Some good players change teams and die. Others blossom in a different atmosphere,so I will wait until I see his play on THIS TEAM. I can tell you he LOVES to hit people. He weighs 215. if we want a blitzer he could hurt someone

We chased the Saints S Williams in FA first thing. So we obviously thought he was very good and a fit here. Think his pay proved to be a deal for the top FA. We had an extra pick in the first but gave it away. No doubt in my mind this team needed a S. He could have stepped in day one because we only have one. The talent was there also. A S running 4.3 is worth paying a first for.

Chasing and getting are 2 different things, this is our team, let them play. Until then we don't know anything. How great was Levon Bell when he got traded?(terrible) he did a 180 because??? Then you get players in a bad system for THEM and when they change they light it up. I'm not going to judge tartt by his play somewhere else. They didn't sign him just to sign someone. maybe he wasn't the first choice, but that happens alot,so you take your next pick off your list. Thats what Howie did

You gotta admit it would be real nice to have a guy that can cover, cover a bunch of ground and a speedy guy to keep those big plays from going all the way. Tartt was sitting on the street. Obviously nobody really wanted him. Everybody could be wrong and he balls out. I don’t see it. New D isn’t really a plus for the vet. He never seems to make interceptions. Just not really a playmaker. At his best  in his prime he was solid. I’d develop the young guys over Tartt personally. We rostered all these DBs. Somebody needs to be able to play. The bar fir a young guy to play at Tartt level really just means a young guy that belongs in the league.

They didn’t sign Tartt for no reason. The reason was we have a hole.
