We chased the Saints S Williams in FA first thing. So we obviously thought he was very good and a fit here. Think his pay proved to be a deal for the top FA. We had an extra pick in the first but gave it away. No doubt in my mind this team needed a S. He could have stepped in day one because we only have one. The talent was there also. A S running 4.3 is worth paying a first for.

Gave it away.... that's good charity when you get a 3rd,1st and 2nd in return.   They need to give more away.

You gotta admit it would be real nice to have a guy that can cover, cover a bunch of ground and a speedy guy to keep those big plays from going all the way. Tartt was sitting on the street. Obviously nobody really wanted him. Everybody could be wrong and he balls out. I don’t see it. New D isn’t really a plus for the vet. He never seems to make interceptions. Just not really a playmaker. At his best  in his prime he was solid. I’d develop the young guys over Tartt personally. We rostered all these DBs. Somebody needs to be able to play. The bar fir a young guy to play at Tartt level really just means a young guy that belongs in the league.

We didn't get him for his speed,we got him to HAMMER RB's trying to run outside. Not hard to understand. he loves to hit people too LOL And at 215 he can DO that. S blitz anyone?

They didn’t sign Tartt for no reason. The reason was we have a hole.

And we filled it that best we could. Jebus you expect a complete rebuild in 6 months and you are dreaming

No we really didn’t. We had another first round pick that would have filled another spot. We could have used future picks to add even more. But I don’t picture Gannon running the same D you do. I believe he covets versatile S that can play two high S looks. But rotate around out of that to disguise. So he needs S that can man up also. Pretty much thinking Vic Fangio style. We upped our LBs big time. You can’t go out all the time with a bunch of LB and only in the box S types. You just living in a completely different era of the NFL.

Name of the game is put it all together for one season. Filling a hole in this year’s roster next year doesn’t do anything for this year. I’ve felt with new coaches and a youth movement in personnel the goal is to build something. Bring in fresh young players develop them together to have a new core to work with towards something. So I’m my mind we can’t develop future picks. They aren’t gelling together to build a sustainable units. Think we are doing a good job on converting to youth and a new team we can build from. But feel a rookie growing with that is more valuable than the future guys. Develop now together is where we are at. I just don’t want to delay the rebuild any more than has to be. So getting that starting S this year is much much more valuable and important than adding him in 2024.

I think Fangio could be the guy for us to take over at DC next season. Makes a ton of sense.

Isn’t that exactly what we did to win our only SB? That was a great dream! Let’s do that again, yes please.

But I’m really excited. I can taste real football near. Yes, I have a bad addiction to football and this team. Win or lose on Sunday effects my mood.

I want to root for the best team in all the league. But it’s just not the same if it takes jerks and thugs to do it. I like rooting for this bunch. Maybe they can’t go all the way. But if they go down fighting their guts out I can live with that. I do feel like that’s what we have here. Siri is a scrappy coach. For good and bad probably. I always thought you wanted to be emotionless coaching. Don’t let things sway you or rattle you. Don’t think that’s Siri. He wears his emotion on his sleeve. If he’s not playcalling it affords him to be himself more like that.

Scrappy and physical….my kind of team. Let’s see if we have enough talent to get somewhere.

I’ve laid off the Hurts talk for awhile because I just got ganged up on so much and it took over these boards. But I do believe in the kid. He’s made of the right stuff. He craves the big moments….I think will thrive. But he hasn’t done enough in his short career yet. He has to step up. He’s going to face serious bumps along with our coaches. Film is out. Coaches just too good. They will find the tendencies and weaknesses. This season all depends on whether we can adapt and overcome. Don’t have to be blockbuster in the weak areas….just can’t let it be a liability.

I’m in on this team! High expectations. Optimism abounds. Gotta get several of these guys more towards reaching their potential this season. See a new team that should grow massively through the season. Not looking for us to be the best week one. But gotta get there in the end. Felt like all those years under AR trained me to think this way. Opposite of the Cowboys that talk winning the SB week 6 then fold.

Goedert is a huge key on O. Team won’t look the same any time he misses. Think Sanders is key as well. If he puts it together all his ability and potential we could have a special season. Really looks beefed up and focused. He has that chip on his shoulder. Believed he can…knows he hasn’t yet. Our vastly improved WR room should open things up for him. As he will do for them. Quez could be getting slept on. He was known to be very developmental as a draft pick. Well now we should see that development pay off. He’s fast. High points the ball well. He keeps improving his technique and add routes he’s going to become pretty big time. Obviously being third WR option and behind Goedert will limit his targets. But he doesn’t need volume. Need him to step up any games the top three pass catchers miss. Think he’s ready for it.

Punt God is in it deep. Cut by Bills. Obviously the Bills had enough information to judge. Said the girl called him with police listening. He admitted they had sex. She was 17. After that maybe twenty guys came in there and raped her allegedly. I don’t know the law where this happened. Sex with a minor isn’t good. But I think sone states have grace age periods….he was in college so he might have only been a year or two older than her. So mortal laws apply to Punt God? It appears very much so. He wasn’t in the NFL yet so Goodell can’t get his hands on him over it.

Safe to assume the Eagles didn't play starters?

Or they watched how the Watson saga unfolded and figured they want no part of it.

Or maybe because the Bills owner is a woman?

I think there is some seriously damning evidence. They said she called him with police listening. He said she should get checked for STDs. Admitted they had consensual sex. Do you cut the guy because he was 19 and hooked up with a 17 year old? I don’t think so. Maybe he drugged the drink….or invited guys to run train on her….I don’t know exactly….but feels like they have solid proof of more than consensual sex.

Now I’m reading Punt God was 21 in human years. He took her back to a room that had several guys already there. At first I thought he just hooked up with her and left her wasted in the bed while others came in. Already sounding worse each new detail coming out. So 21 years old with a 17 knowingly is statutory rape in most states other than West Virginia. She was drunk and he gave her a drink. Denied that it had any drug in it. They’ll try and crucify him on that. Pretty normal college house party stuff. Don’t want to be insensitive….we just all know heavy drinking is going on at a party like that all across the world. So I’m not for placing blame on the guy every time a girl gets wasted. Dangerous mindset there. But the other events sound pretty bad. They hadn’t charged him so…..this coming up after he becomes a pro could feel suspicious as to her motives. She did report to the police right away. So I’m confused how no charges were filed. No real idea but (reading between the lines again) she must have credibility issues. Not a first class lady type. So there’s my whole early take on something I know very little about.

You would have thought if a report had been filed the Bills would have found it while doing their pre draft research.

If these charges turn out to be true it wouldn't surprise me to see some people on the Bills staff fired.

I was in favor of drafting Punt God. But this is one of those areas us fans can’t possibly know about. Like the medicals. Gotta realize we only have a piece of the player puzzle. We know how they are on the field and testing numbers. Who they really are as a person is a mystery.
