How come I’m the only one that seems to question the coaching here? Are you guys super high on all our coaches or just don’t think it really matters? Player talent is soooo important in football. Can’t get but so far without the coaches being on top of their game though. 2017 we had incredible coaches up and down. Really saw how they adapted to whoever we had out there. I like Siri developing a new young team. He’s fire-y! Invested in his players. Just not really seeing the genius though. Can he win the big game? Have my doubts there. Feel like he was hired to develop and raise up a young team. He’s a WR specialist and Gannon DB specialist. So was thinking that was the plan…get them to develop those guys to build up the team to make us more attractive to a top HC candidate(Sean Payton first name comes to mind). Most all of our coaches are fairly inexperienced at their post. I’m fine with a learning curve and bumps in the road. Feels like it’s our biggest limitation to our season expectation to me. Most seem to put it all on Hurts. No doubt they are joined together. I’ll give credit to Siri that he recognized he was doing terrible playcalling and gave it to Steichen. But I’m not that high on Steichen either. My conspiracy thoughts are that Rosie and Lurie were controlling Siri and forcing him to force the passing game with Hurts to get the quick evaluation before the trade deadline. If that was the case turning playcalling over to Steichen might have been his out with them. Playcalling was just that bad first half of the season. But know enough about Lurie and Rosie to hesitate about putting the blame all on Siri. All offseason everybody knew we could dominate on the ground. Hard for me to believe Siri was that clueless. Pedey’s firing really illuminated some of the behind the scenes activity. Clearly Rosie and Lurie were interfering heavily with the HC. They truely believe their the smartest in every room. They fired Pedey because they wouldn’t give him enough control. So that tells me they hired an inexperienced lesser coveted coach…which feels like a move so they could stay in power.

Ham, How can anyone really make judgments on the coaching staff at this point? Sure, you can formulate an opinion and say "I called it" later, but it would be luck. No one knows what they do in practice. I imagine they have all 83 players playing against the other teams 83 and see who is shining. But fact is, we just do not have enough info on this coaching staff. Heck, we have more info on Hurts than we do on Siri. Let's allow this coaching staff another year to see how they perform before making judgments. I prefer to be sure about my opinions before any predictions.

Dang, just seems there was no opportunity to actually earn a roster spot.  Maybe they know he’ll make it to the PS.

Good intel. Not sure if I’ll remember all that. But I agree with the league involving more players. Keep the possible player pool as large as possible.

 Cam Newton is available......

Sony Michel is available... 5'11" 220.....

I like a swindler handing the trades!

As long as players feel the same

Well, it is not too common that GM's and Agents get along. Both are trying to get more money for their side......

From BGN;

TUESDAY, AUGUST 30

[9:42 AM ET] - The trade market for Jalen Reagor is said to be "heating up.” There’s belief that the Eagles will ship out their 2020 first-round pick before 4:00 PM today. Please be true. (Source: Geoff Mosher)

TUESDAY, AUGUST 30

[10:27 AM ET] - The Eagles are reportedly waiving Reid Sinnett. He played his way out of the QB3 job. Crashed and burned after a good start to training camp. They might bring him back on the practice squad. Roster unofficially down to 71 players. (Source: Tom Pelissero)

IR or PUP was an option

Don’t you have to roster the guy as part of the 53 to put him on IR?

It was pretty obvious Siri didn’t value award much. Him and QB1 have a strong relationship. When he got a shot he came in and pretty much delivered. He’s not sexy with the measurables. But he can get open in tight spots, is pretty reliable….has that exQB benefit point of view.

I had read up on Strongs' injury when we drafted him, but hadn't kept up since so don't know the situation. If we released him due to that it's one thing, if we released him due to performance, that's another. Sometimes I feel we don't give developmental QB's enough time. I remember Andy Reid saying it takes 4 yrs. Bellicheat usually drafts one every 2. I just think with the expanded PS we could give a guy more time while they're on their rookie deals.

IDK hard to perform much when you are hurting. Just like you don't get as much done at work when you feel like garbage either. I'm sure we can find a slew of QB3 prospects out there. He should take this year and heal up and show teams what he can do after the season ends(Strong  mean)

Bad call for Strong to bail on his college team for the bowl game. Would have been the pinnacle of his career. Instead it is throwing four passes in the NFL PS.

[10:58 AM ET] - The Eagles are reportedly waiving Mario Goodrich. The UDFA cornerback will likely return on the practice squad. Roster unofficially down to 70 players. (Source: Ian Rapoport)

Noone knows what happens with his career now. We had a lame limper here named Bradford if you recall. I think 4 passes after 3 months is a bit early to define anyones entire career. Hurts was trash after 3 months, should have waived him prospects don't you?

Used Car salesman….not in Philly though. Bailing on their bowl game will probably even hurt him on that.

Landed Garnder Johnson in a trade with the Saints I remember we had interest in him back in the draft couple years ago

SO at 21 or whatever you knew how whatever career you chose would go over the next 20 years? Amazing stuff(once again). I think it was more of NOT repeating the Wentz/Hurts fiasco. We know Shew is going away,so now all Hurts' threats are gone. He either cuts it,or we take a QB in round 1 next year

Josh Gordon/OJ Howard released

So,would you rather have Sony Michael or Sanders on the field? Sanders hurt(like strong) ZERO TD's last year. Should be cut/traded

[11:15 AM ET] - The Eagles are reportedly releasing Le’Raven Clark. No surprise. There’s some speculation that the Cowboys could add him. (Source: Adam Schefter)

[11:10 AM ET] - The Eagles are reportedly cutting Anthony Harris. There’s a surprise. He was pretty invisible this summer but he was the one leading the pregame huddles and he has a relationship with Jonathan Gannon and such. As a vested vet, maybe they plan to bring him back after opening up some roster spots by putting players on IR? OR MAYBE NOT BECAUSE THE EAGLES JUST TRADED FOR CHAUNCEY GARDNER-JOHNSON WHILE I WAS WRITING THIS?!

Yeah,a bit tough on him because he was never really the #1 TE anywhere. hard to split snaps with guys like Brate. I'm sure some needy team will snap him up(Carolina maybe??? because they sure miss Greg Olsen) Buffalo has a nice up and coming TE who should really shine this year
