He’s injured….but whatever

Pup list, IR plenty of ways to keep an injured player yet we opted to waive him…. He just wasn’t good it wasn’t that hard to see. I know you love your feel good story guys but it doesn’t make them good players. Ward getting waived is a clear sign our WR room is improving it’s good signs

NFI & PUP don't count towards the 53 either but room has to be made if/when they return.

Again I believe some pllayers don't get enough time to develop. Would have been easy to put some injured players on IR for the yr, esp when they're cheap as there's a discounted wage.

At 4:01 some will return just not on the53

Andy Reids supposed to want Allen

Lindsay released,Sanu released

My original post to Ham was Ward could have been put on IR or PUP, not just released with an injury settlement.

IR = can't play 2022.

PUP = can't play first 4 or 6 weeks

Neither would make him count toward the 53 as of yesterday ( the timing of the news)

As for Allen finding his way back... another team would have to put him on their 53 in order for us to lose him.

The question I'm not too sure, do we get first dibs on putting players on a PS if that player just prefers not to come back.  Say nobody claims him, and he just decides to wait a little and then go on another PS as a free agent?

Can he do that, or once we put him on our PS list is he obligated to come back here?

Better option than Josh Gordon

Gordon's already gone I believe

Could be wrong,I suppose it depends on the contract, but until he is claimed and signed doesn't the team losing that player still have him under contractual obligation?

Maybe why. Andy would rather have a young kid than an ego trip

I'd like to see Allen developed, then again he may not want to sit and pursue track.

I'm no lawyer but I believe the waiver wire is "intent" or "agreed upon" only? IDK interesting stuff

Idk, i would assume a " release" pretty much releases the player from the contract?   Hence being called a " release "

Cut is what we call it because of how it is in the amateur world of sports.

Waiver wire is to give teams at the bottom first dibs on " released " players.

yeah but there is "released" then there is "waived"

I think "released" means that contract is voided on the spot. "Waived"is the complicated one

So as far as the team doing the " cut" it's the same.

Release is a vested veteran prior to the trade deadline.   That player becomes a free agent and can immediately sign anywhere.

Waived is the non vested player, he goes on waivers.

A vested veteran cut between the trade deadline and the end of the season also has to go on the waiver wire for the bottom teams to get first dibs.

But once the player is " cut" he has no obligation to the former contract.

I'm just not sure how PS works now.   Can Strong or any other player decide not to come here, but wait and then join a PS of his choosing?

Example... Fletcher Cox being cut, he could go anywhere he wants.

Jordan Davis being cut, he goes on waivers.

Any Reagor trade rumors? And who in your opinion will be the final player released? I miss the old contract days "You wanna play here for $300.00 a week?" "Sure" . And that was that

So the trade with the Saints ...

Eagles get player plus 2025 7th

Give up 2023 5th, plus worst of their 2024 6ths.

Now the player is on his last year of rookie deal.

So basically instead of spending $ 19 mil, they get a hungry player for a 2023 5th.    The other 2 picks are a wash.

Now they could rent the player for 1 year, and probably actually make out via a comp pick if he doesn't resign.

Or they could resign him on their terms.

But it does support the " All in" for 2022 to see if Hurts is the guy.   All the one year deals without having the players locked in long term or just not cutting the old guys to save future cap space...

ALL THESE MOVES ARE ALL IN FOR HURTS IN 2022.

Worst team gets first waiver option I believe. If they go unclaimed you can hire them back

Correct. ...that is the difference between waiver and just a release.  The idea of giving the bottom teams first dibs on non vested guys ... and then for the playoff push it avoids collusion of a team getting a vested vet... because he has to clear waivers or make it down the wire to that team.

Agreed, that's why we were arguing with Ham that THIS is the year, not NEXT year. It's GO time for Hurts or we make the change

And I know we can " hire them back to our PS"  but my question is if the player can refuse and go on another team's PS????

Brown is on a 4 year if I recall, which is fine no matter WHOM the QB is next year
