Russell Wilson getting 5/$245m is good news for Jalen Hurts
If Hurts has the big year some are projecting, and the team is hoping, he is going to (rightfully so) ask for top 5 QB money
Right now that is around $45/50m a year. Could be even higher next year. #Eagles

Again I stand by we need to prepare to either pay hurts top QB money(he has a good year) or is moving on(avg to bad year)

1 minor thing, Wilson has an extensive track record of being good,so not sure even if we re-sign him Hurts would command those numbers. If he plays well I can see a re-sign, but less money than Wilson unless he just blows everyone away with his prowess. Maybe 38-40 mil with incentive clauses? If he gets through that and succeeds, then he could demand top dollar

The #Eagles got more for Jalen Reagor than the #Cowboys got for Amari Coper. I am sad.

For Hurts to get over 40 mil per year, he will have to **** away this season! Wilson hits small windows with his WR's in stride and has a much stronger arm than Hurts. Just because one person feels Hurts will command that money on his next contract does not mean everyone else feels that way...

3900 Yards Passing and 500 Rushing. 65% completion rate, 30 TDs and 6 INTs

Give me that and I will think on it....

With Reagor traded have to wonder what WR we either sign or bring up from PS… can’t image we go into the season with only 4 on the 53

Gotta do returns. Huntley, Ward and Reagor gone.

You could argue that Wilson has looked to be on the downside of his career instead of ascending.

Wilson had a bad year last year. To have that O-Line, you have to think he was running for his life most games.... Worst in the league.

But I agree, he is probably on a downward trend at this point. Perhaps not a steep one though...

I don't know why he is ranked so low. He had nearly 5,000 passing yards last year(MOST in the NFL),the big problem was only 27 TD's. One of his best targets(Waller) got hurt and was out numerous games plus all the BS with Ruggs getting arrested. Now they added Davante Adams, maybe the best WR in the league. May take a little time to get the timing down, so why the low ranking? Makes no sense and I believe he is an under rated bargain/ Last night I got Herbert in round 3 drafting 8th. So maybe Carr is a risk, but in round 7 I will take him and have a great first 6 rounds. It's a gamble I will take(unless I can get Herbert in 3) Carr passed for more yards than him or anyone else last year. The lack of TD's I suspect will be fixed,so I am thinking he would be on par with Herbert in fantasy stats. Oh well,my team,my choices . Should be a good tough first game for Carr taking on the Chargers. IDK if you saw that game last year just EPIC offense on both sides. everyone picks up Adam early, and grabs Waller in the mid rounds, yet ignores the guy who throws to them.Makes no sense to me. Keelan Cole and Renfrow are not terrible either. last draft tonight(9th) and I will use that same strategy taking Carr late if it plays out that way

You don't have to justify...again, I liked the player, the position run is why you had to go there in round 7, that's enough.   Different leagues draft differently and you never know when the position runs will occur.   They rank him low because in fantasy they love the QBs that run.

But Ham likes how Dallas runs things.  But the reason this happened because of  Cooper's contract....but yet Dallas does contracts better 😆

50thtime you’ve attributed this towards me when I’ve never stated it. Think you’ve gone a little….well wayyyy too far with this now

True, Passing QB's only get 4 points for a TD Pass and one point for every 25 yards. Running QB's get 6 points for a rushing TD and 1 point for every 10 yards. So you can see how much extra work Carr would have to do to keep up with a Hurts or a Burrows... 4500 Yards passing = 3000 yards passing along with 600 rushing yards. Plus 6 Rushing TDs would equate to 9 Passing TDs....

Wilson was killing it to start the year his game didn’t start to slip until after he injured his hand. He might not be ascending anymore but he definitely isn’t dropping in his level of play

They had him under contract for two more years. Adding five more is very optimistic. Puts him at 40.

I don’t really have a stat line or anything for Hurts but if the Eagles feel he plays well and thinks he is the QB of the future they will extend him.
My only point is we either need to get ready to accept the hefty payday coming to our QB next year or the idea of us going after a QB next year most likely in the draft.

I don’t see a middle area where we settle for Hurts a 3rd year if he stays the same as last year. He will either perform well enough to get paid or we move on.

When QBs are going into there late 30s all the time now hell Brady is what 45. Rodgers is 38 coming off an MVP.
Brees played until what 40-41.

Dont think it’s that far fetched to think Wilson can and will play at a high level another 5-7 years  especially if he starts to get better OL play

I CAN SEE HIM STAYING for 2023 if we cannot trade up enough to grab our QB next spring. Then we trade away our #1 picks for future #1's plus a #2 this year...

Never far enough with you .. the king of over exaggeration when putting words in other people's mouths.

You like  no dead money.  You like waiting to sign players like Dallas not doing it early like the Eagles.  All offseaon that's been your point with Hurts, trying to make a case that the Eagles will wait to pay him after next year because that is the smart way.  Just own it.  Arguing with me about Alshon Jeffrey's contract... and how one year we couldn't spend a ton for free agents.

You don't like backloaded contracts..  neither does Dallas.

Ironic which team has to unload players and hasn't signed any big time free agents in a while?

Early 30s just isn’t really old anymore for a QB unless you are a running QB that relied way to much on their legs.

But wow, I said like some things about Strong and whoa , we can't hear the end of it from you.

I liked how we didn't take 35 seconds to get the play call in after Andy left....so " No Mas Chip is your boy"

5 years the Eagles made a mistake drafting the steroid using Lane over Ziggy...

" I called it"

Yeah,  I agree... it's enough already

I don’t foresee the Eagles having any issues moving up the draft if that’s the route they decide to go.

I don’t see Hurts being the starter if he is mediocre this season in any way. He will either be the guy after this year or we will see a new starter.

Early 30s is prime for a QB now
