I don't think the Jets or Bears would look for QB....but I do think Detroit,  Houston, ATL and Giants will.  Carolina might too.  That's really enough to make it hard to move up.

Sure and next year there will be another 5+ teams wanting a QB and the year after that and the year after that.

The reality is until we see how the draft falls can’t say what will be hard to move up or not.

Eagles have a ton of draft ammo way more then others like Detroit, ATL, Carolina NY.If the Saints pick is in the mix with where they are picking definitely makes it’s easier for us to package a deal for say the Jets who could be picking top 5 vs them.

But again.. I'm just saying that it's possible that there is a scenario where the combo of the Saints not losing enough and the other teams wanting a QB bad enough can happen.   I think as you say " the politics" can be a part of keeping Hurts here another year too.   I think after working all these trades and getting burned by Wentz, they may be careful not to overspend.

But I also think this scenario is worst case for what Lurie and Howie would prefer.

Right.... let's see what happens.

I'm just not closing my mind to the possibility that Hurts might not get a new deal, and still be here .  Not probable... not ideal... but still possible.

I don’t see Howie as gun shy even after Wentz and especially after seeing him work all these deals.
Again and I’ll stand by this think we extend Hurts or see a new starter next year…. I don’t see us just settling for Hurts a 3rd year it’s either we see him as the guy pay him or moving on whether it draft, FA or trade

He might still be here as a backup I don’t see him being the starter unless we see him as the long term option.

Oh... I would stand by this as well..  I'm agreeing with you, not sure how many times I need to say it..lol.    You are 100% , I'm 99.

Or view every other option as too expensive.

All I’ve ever said is they will use everything in their disposal. I could even see an unlikely scenario going down where Hurts improves but a better option becomes available. The job is to improve the team the best you can as a GM. Look at every option available.

Just see this as hard to believe especially after seeing a team that was willing to pay Bradford, pay good money for a backup in Chase Daniels then trade up to get Wentz.

Could also use Foles the team willing to spend again good money for a backup, invest to get Hurts(to at the time be a backup).

Not sure the Eagles know what too expensive is when it comes to the QB position.

And then the question would be... do the Eagles think they can win with a mediocre QB?  They won with Foles ...dude can't even hold a starting job for an entire year.  Maybe intangibles and being a favorite in the locker room are enough.

Maybe nobody offers Hurts a big contract and we can get him cheap?  And then be in Ham's world where we can spend 70 million each year in free agency?

Sorry... spaces out there for a second, I'd be shocked at that one

He always played well in Philly though for some odd reason and did make the plays that mattered with his arm.

Hell even the Saints game in the playoff his throw was there it went off Alshon who needed to secure the catch(led to the int)

If Hurts can improve to an avg. passer with his running ability he likely plays himself into a big deal from us next year.

That’s some pretty massive improvement for him as a passer though from what I watched last season though

I’m little shocked we have not shuffled around our 53 man roster yet. Only 4 WRs guess Sanders is back now so that answers RB question.

Guess we can still call guys up from PS

Agree and agree

I think you will see teams utilizing the practice squad for players that may actually dress as 3rd and 4th string.   Using the bottom of the 53 in keeping guys protected.

Now with the different rules through Covid... teams know how to manipulate the system better.

Seen something that Ian Book wasn’t our first option to claim off waivers. Apparently we had interest in Kellen Mond who was picked up by the Browns.

One curious about that though is why not just get Mond packaged in the trade for Reagor???? Oh well

TJ Edwards getting the green dot on his helmet will be getting the plays from Gannon

The answer is probably they took a chance to see if he would clear waivers... or preferred to have Book and the picks.    I'm sure there are situations like this all the time that we don't know about with players clearing waivers.

For Minnesota,  Mond for Reagor would have been ideal.  Maybe they were trying to do that and we held out for picks?

Who else? I mean, seriously. Whenever he comes out who becomes player playcaller?

Always looking for perfection. That's part of why American football is so exiting - ther has never been a perfect team, even the Fins were not a perfect team. Always looking to improve. Who is this HR and what happened to the old one? I like this new one.

Ceedy Duce is our new S preferred name supposedly.

How much are we going to pay Ceedy Duce you suppose? We’ve been watching the S market balloon up to 19 mil. We can’t possibly be offering him that neighborhood of money.
