Now if Hurts can become nearly as good a passer as Minshew along with his legs no reason this team should not be pushing for the #1 seed in the East and NFC

Agreed. If Hurts can improve on last year and move towards being a top 10-12 QB this team should have a great chance.

With hurts 10 wins with Minshew 10wins…. Hurts doesn’t move the needle really for me.

What hurts lacks passing he makes up for running Minshew is just the better passer.
Crazy how much you sleep on Minshew dude was keeping pace with Dallas for 2 qtrs. With backups not even your boy Hurts could do that lmao.

Rest of the team the same ground game will still be strong, D should be improved. OL is strong

I told Ham I enjoyed the comedic value of that post.

QB situation- Howie did a fine job leaving himself many options in a wide array of scenarios 1) Hurts really improves, makes the throws and the team gets deep into post season. Options- Sign Hurts to a long term, trade Shew or pay him well to remain a BU and finish building the team in the draft. 2) Hurts is mediocre and we do ok maybe win the division or a wild card but still can't win a post season game. Options- Tell Hurts/Shew we are going after a QB next draft and ask either if they want to remain as BU's. We still have Hurts for a year. Keep/sign the one that says yes or decide which of the 2 will stay if they both say ok 3) Hurts is awful seems like we got the best he will be and it's obvious he is holding the team back Options- put Shew in and see how the team responds. If there is a marked improvement and he balls out other options open up. Options-A)sign Shew to a 2-3 year deal as the #1, trade Hurts(we still have a year on his contract), use the draft for a nice promising BU(doesn't have to be a 1 pick necessarily but could be a later 1 and we still keep another 1 pick remembering Hurts was a round 2 pick).B) Sign Shew to a 2-3 year BU contract and use both 1 picks to "get our guy" C) trade  Hurts, let Shew walk so he can start elsewhere, get "our guy" and look around for another #2.  I'm sure you all can arrive at other options. I am merely pointing out that Howie has arranged/planned things so there are a multitude of options open for him. They can hash all this out(the FO) and make their calls, but really every single option is on the table at this point and Howie did a great job of not boxing himself in or being forced into a QB situation he can't control. SO as we keep saying, this is all on Hurts, but as you can see we have every option available in any scenario that happens this year. He re-built this team pretty fast(yes I know we need to make more moves yet) and left himself all the options to make sure we have a contending QB in the years ahead. Obviously the cheap option is to get your stud QB in the next draft. If we don't do that we have to pay one,we just need to make sure that one is worth paying.

Loopholes will be used with all these new rules...  now that teams have had a chance to think about how to find them.

Too many damn "loopholes". I'm glad Goodell is hitting the bricks. IMO he was AWFUL as commish. He plans to step down early 2024

It's gonna be a long day

Anyway,Porter(CB) and Battle(S from Bama) could easily be our round 1 picks if Hurts sticks

" Shew" is gone.  Still seems like you are holding on to the idea he will be an Eagle past this year.  Gotta let it go.

I think the game evolved nicely during his time and the league made a lot of money.   That's pretty much his job.

Who knows, all that hinges on Hurts no???

Yeah wimp out "catering" to the NFLPA. Next up bubble ball

I want the kick off moved BACK to where it was. Such a shame we lost the return game. That was Goodell

Can't change uni colors when you want to. Why not?? Shouldn't that be up to the owner to decide? You need permission to run your own team how you see fit with the colors you and your fans want? You have to "apply" to change them? If I own a team and I want pink and purple, then why can't I do that if I wanted to? Why do I need permission from the league to make my team the way I want it?

Not really... making the owners money was what i was referring to.    Having the combine get better ratings than other major sports playoffs.    That kind of stuff was what I was referring to.  That's pretty much his job.

So a kickoff and uniforms are the issue?   Yet you talk football 365 days a year, do 4000 drafts , multiple fantasy leagues....etc.    And watch hours of guys lifting weights, running 40 yards, skipping around cones...etc.  The owners are making huge money and the franchise values have skyrocketed.

Oh yeah, just an awful job.     Gotta get those colors right.

I'm talking rule changes mostly

If that's what the owner wants why can't they have it???? Also the BS "expansion" into Europe

Again... his job is to make the game popular and to make the owners money.   I'm laughing that you think he spends time in rule changes.. they have the rules committee for all that stuff.  You think the owners pay him to worry about colors and if the kickoff should be 5 yards one way or the other.   His job is about the larger picture.  Getting people like you to obsess about football.   More viewers on the combine and draft than Stanley Cup, World Series and NBA finals... That’s his job.

Ask the average sports fan...

Name 15 starting MLB short stops

Name 15 starting NBA centers

Name 15 NHL goalies

Name 15 NFL kickers.

You get $100,000 for giving a correct list without a mistake,  which list are you going to try to complete?

3 major positions in the other sports vs ( as Peyton Manning would say) " a fricken kicker "

That's the job of the commish.

Based on that he was a GREAT commish because he has me obsessed with all the BS

Off topic, there is a guy who stole a doctors plane flying around Tupelo, MS threatening to crash into the Wal-Mart.This is LIVE Wal-Mart evaced and they are asking the residents to go elsewhere also

Based on the fact the owners pay him.  Yes, that's why they pay him... for the league to be popular and make money.

Did you spend this much time doing drafts, watching combines, and everything else 25 years ago?

20 years ago, Would you see a starting LT come from halfway around the world,  never play a down of football before he got drafted?

He ran out of fuel 🤣

What does he want?  I am curious for this answer..... I will crash into Walmart unless...?
