Thomas is 29 and has not played in 2 years. I will take brown over him. I also will take Smith over either of the other two. Watkins is as good as Landry at this point in his career.

Good theories, and may be correct.    I'll wait and see though.  Not such a definite in my mind.  But the fact it's 51% possible that our guys are better... really says alot compared to the crap we have had prior ...in which the former coach and QB didn't want any part of.

Saints might have the edge given that Alshon had a bad contract in 2019.  Gives Olave the edge over Smith.

Idk what happened... I never did that double TE before. It's great for the position,  but it pretty much means I have to play both every week.  Didn't turn out great, but we all know things change with the waiver wire and injuries...lol.

Either one should be tradeable for a decent WR,or you can hold one hostage for bye weeks lol

Still have his SB speech recorded, haven't found a reprint of the right tshirt, wear the one w/ holes in it on game days while it's still warm out

These interviews are like pressers. Same things different week lol. Just put "we need to do better" on a loop and you're covered for the year

I'm using one as the flex

at his best I like Thomas

Not sure what to expect from Thomas this year if he stays healthy but I don’t think he will be the player he was that’s for sure.

Two years of not playing really alone means he probably be slow getting readjusted to the game speed. Next you have massive downgrades from Brees( who two years ago was one of the top QBs still) and Payton( one of the best O HC in the game).

That's great logic that I can't argue with.  Just not ready to make that 100% until I see him play.

We can use that for everything we post here Joe. Need to see them play first. We are all just posting our opinions. Of course these will change once they start playing...

Correct... that's my opinion that it's possible for Michael Thomas and Chris Olave to be better than our WRs.  Especially if you want to use the QB issue for Thomas... I believe Brown may also have that issue playing with a QB who we haven't seen throw the ball as well as his previous QB.

I respect your opinion....respect mine.  People are allowed to see things differently.

You guys are sleeping on Landry. Yeah he’s aged. But he runs just beautiful routes. His style of play ages very well.

Btw... you love stats.   Way more than I do.  And you love to use them when comparing.

So here is one for you....let's agree it's possible Michael Thomas is half the player he was before getting hurt.

2019 ... 149 catches, 1725 yards, 9 TDs

Half = 75 catches,  863 yards, 5 TDs

AJ Brown last year....

63 catches, 869 yards, 5 TDs

For me, such a huge X factor with Thomas.  He was no question, the best WR in the game before getting hurt.  A huge drop-off for him is still being a good WR.

And yes, all the different factors lead to us logically thinking he won't be by far the best WR in the game.  But he doesn't have to be that guy to be possibly better than AJ. Really he doesn't have to possibly be even that close.

So to your point about the Saints vs Eagles... we know they are better at RB, and we are better at TE and OL.  The D and WR aren't as black and white yet.  But I can understand why people may have a high opinion of the Saints.  As I do with people who have the opposite.  They have a lot of unknowns.

He is still 29... is it that old?  That's prime age in football 25-29.   I only look at that as being old if I'm looking long term.

But people on here seem to think Kelce,Graham, Cox, Slay and Lane will be pieces we can keep building around???

Well, you may be right Joe. We will see soon enough!  I am just glad Football is HERE! No more opinions, just football to watch, cheer and hopefully not throw a brick through your TV!

Kelce and Cox are done. Graham may be also. Slay still seems to play a solid CB and Lane is fine if healthy for a few more years.... But can he stay healthy?

My boy Olave will shine with the right QB. So who is better Winston or Hurts? Winston has been tested and the results are mixed. This is the year Hurts gets tested. if you scroll back about 1,000 pages you will see where I was unhappy with Winston in TB due to hot/cold. he either sets the game on fire with 5 TD's or has a complete meltdown with 5 picks. TB saw this and thats when they went and got Brady who is reliable and consistent. That is a big thing I need to see from Hurts. He doesn't have to be the best passer, but he needs to be "NFL ADEQUATE" and not do stupid things with the ball like Winston does

For Thomas there was also a huge drop off at QB and HC. IMO Hurts is an upgrade for AJ because Henry was most of Tennessee's offense

If Hurts sticks, next draft there are some super nice CB's and S's and if we don't need to use draft picks on a QB, I would go that route

I'm not even right or wrong... all I said was it's an unknown, Thomas could be anywhere from being the top WR to being nothing... idk.    A lot of IDK for me this year.   With the Saints, I'm hoping all the IDK is all bad...lol.

For me with Hurts, I see it differently.  He isn't overly aggressive with his passing like Winston was...which leads to INTs.    Hurts is the opposite,  too conservative and so he takes off running.    That works vs bad teams, as we have see with running QBs over the years.  The issue is the passing needs to be enough to beat good teams.

You are saying Hurts is a better passer than Tannehill?
