Mailata shoulder. IDK if I like this much (like I have a choice) but you know once you pop a joint out, most times that is a re-occurring thing unless you target building up the surrounding muscles. I hope this was only a 1 time"freak" thing

So his intangibles changed after he lost all his receivers like Fitz? Kirk? No effect there?

Sure injuries hurt. The guy doesn’t work hard like Hurts. He just relies on his talent too much. He has Hollywood Brown. Ertz.

But things like they had to put in a study on your own clause in his 100 mil mega contract. That’s the kind of stuff.

IDK that you ever lose intangibles though. Maybe you can choose to not use them, but I doubt a professional would intentionally do that. These aren't kids. You can study forever, but you need tp use what you learn and you can't write that into a contract

Murray is missing the intangibles so much. He’s super talented. But thinking that will always hold him back.

But again...the point is that it's different in post season.  These guys put up records during the regular season.   They put " stress" on the defense... all the college football stuff.  Then flop in the playoffs  ( which you say is the same???)

I'm saying...during the season the running QBs are an annoyance for a week to defenders, they move onto the next game.  In the playoffs they lock them down because there is no tomorrow if they lose.

It's just different, if you played sports on any level, even in any rec league, you know playoffs are different.  You don’t worry about next week or the next matchup or what you like to do...during playoffs it's 100% on the specific opponent.

Sounds like Parsons will be fine.

Writing in a contract a mandatory study time for your team leader is a huge issue for me. Bad leader. Bad example. Imagine them even thinking to put in writing for Hurts to do work on his own…..laughable.

It’s always 100 percent that opponent. Now maybe a guy that’s not totally healthy sits in the regular season and plays in the playoffs. But what does anybody do different preparing week 12 for Hurts or postseason? Either way they do their best to gameplan. One week to prepare. So what playoff time they stay later and work harder is your only theory here? Not seeing it much.

during the regular season if you worrying about the next opponent…you going to lose. You acting like teams don’t prepare during a regular season week. That Hurts just sneaks up on them. But the playoffs they realize he can run…or something. Not getting your point. More hype. More pressure. But that’s sports.

They can lock down running QBs only in postseason is your theory?

Playoff football is still just football. Nothing different…just added pressure.

It’s not like college where they have tons of time to prepare for one opponent in a bowl game.

All the rules are the same in the postseason. I don’t see why if something works in regular season games why it wouldn’t in the postseason.

The stress on the defense is an offensive job. Nice to have a guy hit deep to stretch vertically. RB to gash so they can’t neglect the box. Dual threat QB is tough to deal with. It just is. You change your whole approach with the pass rush maybe. Don’t just knife and attack maybe. Washburn used to like the mush rush and contain the running QBs. Keep them in the pocket. Some times DC go with a spy. So a LB or S taken out of the playcalls just for the QB. That stuff effects things. Regular season or playoffs. Hurts has to be accounted for with his legs. That all stresses a D. No matter what time of year.

Just keep watching us play football. I’ve been endlessly explaining why Hurts is a good player to you. You can’t see it. So just watch.

I’d bet the first thing every DC thinks or talks about his Hurts multiplicity. AJ:killer WR. Goedert kicking butt at TE. Smith will gut anybody. Sanders a big play waiting to happen. Oline touted endlessly. But the first worry and gameplanning revolves around Hurts. That should tell you plenty. Can you double AJ and Spy Hurts? Leaves everything else short  I’d think.

I would think many times it makes the defensive playcall a bit more obvious also. If you figure out how they are playing Hurts.

I'll be glad when we get that first loss out of the way.

Just NOT this week

Ham... you can theorize anything.  I'm just going on the history of the game. Playoff time the QBs have not been able to win by running. The defenses stop that...so far.   Until it changes you can theorize why Hurts will be different from the rest. One game so far last year and it was the same.  Run blitz,ja m the WRs and stop the scrambling to the QBs strong side.

To compare absolutely stud passers like Mahomes and Allen simply because they can run, is just silly.    Hurts will have to pass more so than dump off and YAC to win anything in the playoffs.    You might get a win with absolutely dominant defense like Lamar, Kaep Vick.. etc.  Even Cam... but to expect to win the whole thing like that will be a first.

Times change....but not really until they actually change...so far thar hasn't changed. Regardless of regular season success.

It's not 100 totally opponent...simply because you obsess all offseason of what " style " the defense will play. During the regular season they try to do their thing. Playoff time, that's when it's all opponent.

Phillies baby!!!   Weekend in Philly is going to be nuts!!!

It’s a matchup based league. Opponent determines much every week. What’s different in the postseason from the regular season?

So you have a week to prepare in November. You don’t try and stop Hurts. But since the postseason starts…then you actually try and stop Hurts then.

Opponent quality

So would you trade Caff for Shew? NC is down to QB3 lol
