3 picks for 1

LOL I tried explaining this also. From experience you are running into a brick wall in a dead end alley. If I can keep rolling extra 1 picks over to the following year and still get the players I want, and more pics besides that, you bet I keep that going as long as I can. THose picks can come in handy in the event bad things happen and I need to move fast for a FA. Nice to have those in your back pocket

See boyz lost their slot corner Jourdan lewis. Zeke banged up his bad knee.

Would like to see us go all in for this yr, but 2 firsts for Quinn? Good luck w/ that. Saw what happened when Gardner went out, looking for help there as well. Prices are high this time of the season.

Back pocket isn’t going to help us win a playoff game.

Yes, the QB should be able to win one without the need to sacrifice 3 good picks for a rookie that would be a backup.

Right...you make the trade every year and you would end up with a 1st, two 2nds and two 3rds every draft.    There is no way you pass up 3 picks for one unknown rookie that you would select at 19 or later.... 3 weeks before the draft.   No shot.

And you know how you know this... because if it was pick 19 and we gave up our own 3rd, next years 1st and the following years 2nd.... 3 weeks before the draft and not knowing who is going to be available....   the whole city would call for Howie to be fired.  Not even a doubt there.

Ward back on the PS whatever that means. Insurance I suppose,he know the plays

Id love to see more injuries to their starting D. So sick of the Cowpie fans. Sooooooo annoying!

We’ll see if Sacrificing that 2024 second rounder for a good young player to help this year and beyond was the call

I’d have liked to have gone the other route and sacrificed a pick from next year to aid this team. In my mind thinking two players even.

Mac Jones thrown two TDs and six picks benched for Zappe. How many times I was told he was much better than our QB1.

Their Yankees got swept and their Lakers are winless so far.

Again... 2022 3rd, 2023 1st and 2024 2nd.... just want to make sure you state the full amount.  Nobody is falling for your spin.   You can disagree with getting all 3 picks... but it's all 3, not just one.

Another game that has helped the Saints pick get closer to the top.

It pretty much is exactly the Cowboys trade but opposite with the Saints moving up.

Then that leaves pick 19 and a 6th rounder we gave them for 2023 1st and 2024 2nd

Not True. Eagles Swapped 19 for Saints 18. Eagles gave up 16 for a 3rd in 2022 plus a 1st in 2023 and 2nd in 2024. The way the Saints are playing, We should get a top 10 pick next year. I would say that was a great deal! Remember, we got Dean with that 3rd round Pick.

How does the 11th pick in 2023 help this year? Why wouldn’t the 19th pick help next year? Think there is the whole thing of us desiring a good WR also. We needed to trade for AJ because we couldn’t get a draft WR. So instead of drafting Olave…we enabled them to grab him…which arguably pushed the WR market forward and out of our reach. I loved the AJ move. But gotta pay him big time. So you could say we missed out on drafting a WR because of the Saints trade basically. Could have been us, right? Many ways to look at it. I actually was making a pint that we could have been thinking of trading 2023 picks also to boost up this year. We look pretty good this year. Why handicap this team fir the future picks? I was thinking more like take future picks or two to add to this season. Adding good draft players this year….still helps in the future.

So, you would have rather drafted an unproven Olave, instead of an All Star WR who has history with Hurts and in only 3 years older? I am not sure of this reasoning at all. Why are you upset about this when everyone else thinks it was a great trade? You keep talking about getting Hurts help, so when they get him probably the best option at WR, you think it is a terrible deal?

Every GM and draft value chart I’ve seen has future draft picks as worth less than current ones. So 19 now versus 11 next year? Probably lose value there according to many charts. Not terrible but don’t whine and cry if we lose a close playoff game this year. I wanted to do the opposite…trade next years pick to aid this year. Really stack this years team…plus going forward. It’s cool if you think we aren’t a contender this year. But no way I can’t say 2022 Eags are better without another tool or two in the shed. Adding in the draft…they help the future also. That trade only really benefits us if it’s a top ten pick next year really. Even still if we needed to go all in on a QB. Which we don’t. Seems the Hurts haters liked it so they could dream of a draft QB. But that still would arguably have costed a ton of draft ammo to accomplish.

First, we do not know what that pick will be, but it most likely be at minimum top 10 pick. Right now it stands at Number 4. Remember, we also get the Saints 2nd round pick in 2024 Tell me that will not help this team out moving forward. Remember, HR signed a couple players to allow us to compete this year until we were able to draft help next year.

1 RB I totally like is Robinson from Texas. There is NO weakness in his game, he is a complete back, blocking also, but would Howie use his first pick on a RB? Seems unlikely and the kid is only going to get better. Someone is going to get a great back

He may use pick 29-32 for a RB....

Exactly why I would be fine trading back from 4(or whatever) a few spots. Those guys will be there as teams scramble for QB's (decent class this time). Trade back 2,3 spots and pick up whatever else you can seems like a no brainer and pick 32 (lol) is still in round 1 😁

Well we may be able to trade back 2-3 spots and grab a 2nd rounder also for 2022 or 2023, depending on what Howie wants to do. I am all for that.

What about the First next year and Dean, who we got on that trade?

Remember, HR signed a couple players to allow us to compete this year until we were able to draft help next year. Not sure why you  are complaining. having 3 picks in the top 40 is awesome.

Stine.    The 2nd round pick is 2024... not next draft...not the same draft as the 1st round pick.

Still a great trade though.... we traded 194 for 237 as the cost of moving up from 19 to 18.   Then got 3 good picks for #16.   Every team would jump on that, the Saints were desperate and we took advantage.
