https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2023/consensus-big-board-2023?pos=EDGE   As of now they also have Murphy for us and as I said he could fall a few spots as teams try to move for a QB. even a move from 4 to 5 will pick up something additional and we can still get our guy(if thats who we want)

Que Ham.... on the hypothetical move that was better.

It has been apparent that we do not draft safeties in the first round so the point is moot.....

Yeah...  but ....lol

I don't get stuck. It's fun when the team picks the guys you had mocked. I was fine with either Davis or Olave, those were my 2. I also had Smith for us last time. Not getting into the "I called it" BS, suffice to say I don't think my mocks are all that useless(I will wait however until the end to post what I believe is the best one or 2 and not post 500). IF we stay at 4,my thoughts are Murphy(edge) but I believe we can move back and still get him when other teams are scrambling for a QB. We are in the drivers seat with pick 4,5 ,6 or 7. Murphy should be there then

Not just you my man... it's all fans get stuck with drafting a position.

AWESOME!!!! A fourth is even Awesomer(I made this word up lol)

Ravens have a decent S, Chuck Clark, who's cheap and could be better than our b/u's. Raiders have one as well, Johnathan Abram

Quote from former Cowboy Marcus Spears:

"Howie Roseman got to be the damn Executive of the Decade," Spears said after rubbing his head and sighing heavily. "Like, I don't understand it, man. He did everything you needed to do this offseason -- he got A.J. Brown and kept draft picks -- and now you get one of the better pass-rushers."

Spears felt good about the Cowboys acquiring defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins from the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday before their NFC East foes one-upped them.

"And then Howie Rosman goes out and says, 'I'll raise you, and I'll go get Robert Quinn, coupled with already being an undefeated football team.' I'm sick of it, y'all. I'm sick of it."

How bout dem Iggles?

Kind of agree, but see the need for a young CB talent as more immediate than RT. I'll be content with 4 good talented selections and a few good 7th Rd/UDFA prospects.

Howie doesn't draft CB's that high and we really suffered when Lane was out

If I have a chance to take the top guy on my board…it would be real tough to trade back

Anderson has been my top guy coming into this season

STOP! That was not the trade Ham! We traded away 2 Number 1 picks and rec'd 2 Number 1 picks back plus a 2nd and a 3rd... Read this please and stop saying we traded a 18 for a 16 because that is just not true. Also, note the date.

And on this day of April 4, 2022, Howie Roseman strikes with another NFL Draft trade bombshell: The Eagles have added more draft capital for this season and for the future. Philadelphia has agreed to trade the 16th and 19th overall picks, along with a sixth-round pick (No. 194 overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft to New Orleans in exchange for five draft picks. From the Saints, the Eagles will receive:

• The 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft

• A third-round draft pick from New Orleans, the 101st overall selection in 2022

• A seventh-round pick from the Saints, the 237th overall selection in 2022

• A first-round pick from New Orleans in the 2023 NFL Draft

• A second-round pick from New Orleans in the 2024 NFL Draft

I’m just breaking down the trade

Seems like you guys are doing the same. Just choosing to try and make it look better.

Btw...the beauty of having those extra 1sts.... they were able to use their best pick and move up for a specific target.. Davis.  Last year without that, they had to use pick 12 and a 3rd to move up.

Once you get your target.. of course you look to maximize the other assets.

The issue some have, was a safety had to be drafted this year.  Without that, they weren't happy.  Fans get stuck on that every year.

Or it’s just making the team the best we can. Held back clearly. My point was to get a bunch of young guys in here to grow together under Siri.

How is stating the exact picks making the trade look any better or worse?   Stine put out the exact post from an article that didn't give opinion, just put down the exact details?

It was exactly like it said... two firsts were traded from each team... the Eagles got the extra picks... 3rd in 2022 and 2nd in 2024...due to the  time value.  Saints were desperate for 2022 picks and over paid.  Eagles just wanted more assets.   Win win for both... just not sure how it will work out for the Saints?   Eagles looking great right now, could be even better with more moves.

Yeah.... just you have the Saints mindset... rush job.  The Eagles have the long game in mind because they know a lot of key players are getting old and they need the picks.

The young player this year is Dean ( pick in round 3) as compared to a 1st round that could also be boom or bust.  Plus now 2 extra assets... which could be even more players.

I think the difference is you needed to be sold on Siri and wanted the rush job... I don't think the Eagles are thinking that way.  They seem sold on Siri...which you can tell this year with some players he is doing a great job. Vi think they plan on having him here for a long time.   For them trading down to round 3 with one of the picks was worth getting an extra 1st and 2nd in the future.

Quinn had 18.5 sacks last year. none to date this season. Is he uninterested, hurt or just lost a step? That is what we need to figure out. Hopefully he will thrive with the rotation we have...

Quinn had 1 this yr. Since da bears traded Khalil Mack, Quinn has been amongst the highest double teamed DE's in the NFL. Good luck doing that in our system, pick your poison they can't double everyone. Moving Graham inside and playing Quinn outside. Great move by HR

Hoping you are right MJK. He has had an awesome career. Hopefully he can boost our pass rush. That has been our weakest arear on the D.....

Just hard for me to look at anything in a vacuum - esp my shop-vac after the rain got in the basement yesterday!

Take a look at this chart. Quinn double teamed a crazy amount;

Well, I remember that he was great vs the rush so that will help no matter if he gets to the QB or not.

We need to tackle better on D, block better on ST's to really take us to the next level.
