AJ was the best option in my mind. But seeing how FA with Kirk and few others was overpriced. Draft we would need to trade up to get a top guy. After getting that far in the knowledge…then recruiting AJ began. Convinced him to force his way out because paying him was the easiest option. Would cost a first and third to take one in the draft anyway. Couldn’t even get a FA as an option. So then your completely happy to accept paying AJ and trading. Makes easy sense once you realize the other options.

Having a few vets to show rookies the way is needed on any team. But you’d always just love to go the rookie route. But…you knew that was coming….just aren’t always right about draft picks. It’s far from a perfect science. So I’m not quite sure where the line….or balance is versus draft picks and other options. Draft is more for optimism.

But even vets don’t always work out. Sometimes they don’t scheme fit like you thought….or so on and so on.

Ideally you could just get great players undrafted. Or just pick studs on the third day like Kelce. Great plan. How often does that work out? Not sure how I feel the percentages weigh out

I didn’t realize Sweat had such a high win rate going this season.

LOL where did I say 10 yrs? The DL is good and adding another rotator in Quinn should be a great benefit in depth and keeping fresh legs. But you should know as well as I do that Wentz holds the ball too long. That was the main factor for the 9 sack day is what I was pointing out.

Same thing I pointed out earlier to another poster….Tarron was rotating in. But Quinn will get more snaps than Tarron was getting. Just don’t want to get carried away if how everybody else was getting rest now ….and weren’t before. With Barnett’s major snap count down there was a hole.

My read was that Rosie offered a third for McCaffrey….which wasn’t much of an offer. So kind of considered…All Rosie was willing to give up. Do it went down from there to a fourth for Quinn. He was adding somebody…that’s what he does.

To me I’m reading into what Rosie is thinking about his draft ammo. He clearly is really not giving that up. Went all in to add a 2023 first and 2024 second. All I ever heard is it was all for a QB. I don’t think it was. At most hedging against Hurts completely flopping. What are the odds of the hardest working guy that lives and breathes football regressing this season? I just couldn’t see it. I don’t know exactly what Rosie plan is….but he’s on it.

Huh? You mean Shareef Miller? Mack Collins is alive and well in LV. He was a WR that excels on special teams.

A ST that occasionally ran routes. Not sure actually calling him a WR really is accurate. LOL

Just great rooting for a guy like Sweat. Gone through some tough bumps in the road. Had to earn and prove himself. And …he has. Great job of us to notice and pay him.

Think Quinn was going to the Cowboys if we didn’t get him. So worth it

Mack Hollins was a 2017 rookie WR for the Eagles. He had 16 catches. His first was a 64 yard TD. He was released in 2019.

BTW, he currently is starting for the Raiders.

What's the next level from 6-0 and clearly the best team in the conference?

Just making the point that our D tackling and ST's blocking need to improve. We missed 48 tackles in the 1st 5 games - 3rd worst in the league. If we don't start blocking for the returners, I'd seriously start looking around for a new ST's coach.

I’m thinking Tarron is starter material. But was a quality rotation guy. Showed sone pass rush prowess I thought. Not as stout as Barnett….but I thought actually brought more to the table. Disappointing move here. But I’ll just assume they have it worked out where he isn’t going anywhere.

Rasul Douglas

Dpuglass is putting together a nice season in GB

Guess Tarron had only been playing 11 percent of the snaps. I noticed when he did play….so thought it was a bit more. His time really decreased from last season

Tarron Jackson was a late-round pick of the Eagles back in 2021. He flew under the radar at Coastal Carolina, but was actually PFF’s 3rd best-graded college football player in 2020. He had 54 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks (tied for 8th in the FBS), 18 QB hits, and 3 forced fumbles before being drafted by the Birds.

I really have hope for this guy and thought he could be developed for the future. We're going to need guys next yr.

DougFarrar;

Robert Quinn has faced 58 double-teams this season. Nick Bosa and Micah Parsons are each in the 40s

Yeah he had some legit moves. But they probably already worked out his space on the PS

I saw he had a big game

Mack Hollins was just dead weight here

Real good ST player though. And he loved it. Think he said that’s all he wanted to do. Pretty rare. Most hate ST.

Howie doesn't draft CB's that high and we really suffered when Lane was out

Based on history, this strategy MIGHT BE GOOD. Finding a star CB is not easy. Ive seen many high CB picks that look like they’d be stars NOT work out. CB is a tough position in any league and REALLY tough in the NFL. Eagles do NOT have depth THIS year at that position. They have EXCELLENT corners starting. Can and will they stay healthy? Fingers crossed!

2 players I keep looking at before the trade deadline - Cam Akers and Rodney McLeod. Know we were looking at Hunt in the OS, but he seems money hungry and wants a new contract.

S Sean Chandler, Carolina Panthers

Chandler could be a contributor for the Eagles on special teams. A Camden native, Chandler is currently tied for the league lead in special teams tackles (8) and has also played on the Panthers kickoff and punt return teams.

Chandler can also fit in with the three safety packages the Eagles use and fill as a starter if there are injuries to either Epps or Gardner-Johnson, or if the Eagles would like to use their three safety packages. Adding him to the coverage teams could help with the field position coverage even more while lessening the need to add a starter to help with the unit. Chandler is also very familiar with Lincoln Financial Field because he played his college games there when he was at Temple University.

Quinn trade….meh. Hope Im wrong and he balls out. Just seems like an older guy that takes plays off. Bennett made a memorable play or two was all i can remember what we got from him. Seems like the same kind of deal.

Looks like TB's going down.

My glass is more than half full on Quinn. He was in a really bad position on a poorly run team. Bears took away all his help leaving him to be the only one double teamed at an incredible rate - posted the chart this am. Also no guaranteed money after this yr.

Being rumored that we want a third rounder for Dillard. Are still open to trade him.
