To me it looked like we were stuck. Couldn’t get a FA. Couldn’t get the top tier WR in draft. So Hurts bailed us out. Have considered that Hurts maybe put the idea in AJ mind to force a trade because he had his payday lined up. So maybe AJ even got a bit nasty with top guys in Tennessee to accomplish it.

So yeah, Hurts was recruiting him

You are assuming way too much my friend.... You do not even consider they traded for AJ because they knew he played with Hurts and would help the team?

And please quit calling Quinn too old before even seeing him play in our system - he's 2 yrs younger than Graham and nobody wanted to get rid of him 2 yrs ago.

2 things....

1.  Good luck drafting anyone of Lane's caliber.   Best RT on the game for years now. The NFL game ot the SEC.

2.   Who do we struggle against ? Parsons?   Every team struggles against him with their starters in there.

Conclusion... hard to have pro bowl level backups.  We have guys that could start for more than half the league as backups.  We are spoiled with that.

Just look at our record without Lane. Apparently we struggle with everyone.

This year.... I'm not counting 2014

Nor 2019, 2020 or last year? The Eagles are 12-20 without Johnson.

BTW - anyone still looking at possible acquisitions before the deadline, we still have 9.5 cap left. Know we need money next yr but we are on a SB run this yr.

The following players are currently set to be unrestricted free agents entering the 2023 league year:

  • Robert Quinn
  • Fletcher Cox
  • Javon Hargrave
  • James Bradberry
  • Isaac Seumalo
  • Andre Dillard
  • Kyzir White
  • T.J. Edwards
  • Boston Scott
  • Zach Pascal
  • Miles Sanders
  • Brett Toth
  • Chauncey Gardner-Johnson
  • Gardner Minshew
  • Marcus Epps
  • Sua Opeta (RFA)
  • Tyree Jackson (ERFA)
  • Britain Covey (ERFA)

The Eagles are also currently projected to have about just $2.6 million in cap space next year. They’ll obviously be able to free up room with trades/restructures/cuts/etc. But they won’t be able to simply keep everyone. They figure to players in the compensatory pick game once again.

Howie is probably the best manager of the Cap in the league. I never worry about Cap Space.

1) yes just give up, no need to try, it's hopeless. I guess Davis is trash too since drafting anyone of his caliber is once every 50 years(and he SHOULD be a pro bowler DT). Someone has to be the "best". When Lane quits someone will get that title  2) We run right alot,so does Hurts, any weakness on the right side hurts Hurts and the affects the running game

"Hurts bailed us out" HAHAHAHA LMFAO. I bet Ham has Hurts underwear

Howie is freaking amazing. Basically we are owning him for 10 games and post season with no other committment. IDK why he would agree to this but Howie is amazing LOL

I believe he will be in rotation with more rest(because we have enough good others) than he would have been in Chicago to extend his career. I doubt also he can be double teams like he was because once again we have too many "others". If he's playing well and we win the SB we can always sign him to a short term. I think he will like it here much more than Chicago

IDK much about Sermon. He was "ok" at OSU not great. Gainwell doesn't play much. Scott is a great BU. If Sanders gets hurt IDK if Scott can cover that,so a CHEAP(see expendable) RB would be something of interest to me. Why I suggested Price from SF as a possible target now that they have CMC. Love the WR room we have, but once again, if we lost 2 of them it would be an uphill climb,so adding a vet guy could be a move since like you said,it's obvious now we will make a run at the Lombardi. You guys would know more about defense,I am still learning more about that to be better informed. Kareem Hunt was also mentioned somewhere. Pascal and Ward are "adequate" but in a pinch can they win you a SB? Things is, whomever we got would have to go right on the 53

Yeah, they need to figure this out ASAP because we're going to have to pay Hurts it looks like

Quinn agreed because he had no guaranteed money. It's also not all about Quinn, his age etc - it's about the rotation and keeping them all fresh. Like the Lane clip;

https://www.msn.com/en-us/video/viral/lane-johnson-on-robert-quinn-playing-against-fresh-d-linemen-in-the-fourth-quarter/vi-AA13sV06?category=foryou

Maybe he will try to get another contract with some guarantees before the season ends? His age is an issue, but if he lights things up, I could see that being a caveat for him to sign a 2 year with some type of guarantee. At 32 I wouldn't push it past that

Cox most likely gone, could see restructuring and extending Hargrave

On the WR front, maybe Will Fuller. OBJ is a FA I believe also

Anyway Carson and Fuller could be 2 useful vets that wouldn't cost alot. Neither affects is affected by the trade deadline

Carson retired due to a neck injury

I was looking at Chuck Clark or bringing back McLeod to shore up S. Hunt, Montgomery, Wilson or Akers all in the mix at RB. Know we were looking at Hunt in the OS. Like I said yesterday, seems to be a money guy, wants a new contract - I like team guys. When we won in 2017, if a RB made a good play or scored the biggest cheering section were the other RB's, even tho they wanted the carries.

IDK I would be checking FA's now to save some cap, because you can sign them cheap just for the remainder of the season. The others are going to want long term contracts I would think
