Brady divorce final,that was fast

 Ravens S Chuck Clark

They already added C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Marcus Epps is a quality complement on the back end. Where Gardner-Johnson is a ballhawk, however, the Philly native Clark could offer hard hitting and blitzing ability as a third safety for the stretch run. Signed through 2023, he's no longer an asset in Baltimore with Marcus Williams and Kyle Hamilton in town.

Who can lose 3 guys on their OL and still perform above average as an NFL OL.

We invest in our OL?    All of our OL are homegrown. Lane is a 1st round pick... Dickerson is a 2nd rounder... Seamulo a 3rd.... Kelce a 6th... Mailata a 7th.

I mean I guess Dillard ... not like he has played much.  Who else was a big investment?

How many picks were used on Stoutland?   How much does he count against the cap?

I'm not stuck on anything... I think you just can't give any credit to anything in the Eagles organization except for Hurts???    It's the best OL in the league, according to every expert opinion.  They lose 3 guys and they more than hold their own.  That's results... that's not being stuck.

Being stuck is trying to spin a 5 for 3 trade... where you don't acknowledge all the pieces involved.   Being stuck is living in a hypothetical world.  Reality is the Eagles have the best OL... and pretty much the best 10 guys that surround a QB.

We invest in our Oline with getting the top coach, draft picks and cap dollars. First round pick as our backup LT. Second round backup C. Fourth round backup RT.

Lane, Kelce and Mailata getting paid handsomely. Seumalo isn’t cheap.

Malcom Jenkins was a trade, not a draft choice. Not sure why you included him to make your point...?

Jenkins and Bradberry were BOTH FA acquisitions. They were the only 2 upgrades SINCE that GREAT draft 20 years ago.

I don't believe Howie had any part in those selections.

Great Balls of Fire

Jerry Lee Lewis dead at 87

I'm surprised he lived that long

Bradberry I would hope could give us that 2017 Robinson level play. Like many in 2017….had his career year. He was only here one season…in the slot.

Alright E-A-G-L-E-S fans : Joe Walker, was he on our Super Bowl winning team? No peaking.

For awhile there, I considered myself an upgrade 🤣

Slay wasn't an upgrade? IDK that anything to do with the roster doesn't have Howie prints on it(that's part of his job description)

Wow! I'm tired of s'plainin myself Lucy (Ricky Ricardo).

I do apologize for overlooking Robinson (another FA).

My point WAS no DRAFTEE of Howie's contributed significantly.

Ever hear of Joe Banner???

Terrance Brooks is a FA

That's because as I'm tired of explaining to you, HOWIE DOES NOT DRAFT DB's. So if he doesn't draft high then, how can they make an impact(DUH) unless you expect a pro bowler in round 4. No never heard of Joe 🤣

That's part of the point isn't it? They invest heavy on the lines and it pays off?

Do need to get Lane's future replacement this draft I believe.

I'm gonna say yes. I remember him being on IR, practice squad or something.

Injury report looking pretty good going into Week 8 other than Grahamy/Hammy/Questionable.

It is not my intent to bash fellow Eagles lovers. I just intended to add clarity and clear-up any misunderstandings. Also, provide some personal observations.

1. Joe Banner was President of the Eagles util 2012. He is a childhood friend of Jeff Lurie (owner since 1994). Howie joined the Eagles in 2000 and was promoted to GM in 2010 and bounced around under Chip Kelly until his demise. Andy Reid had major sway in the roster composition during his reign.

2. Brian Dawkins, Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor were all veteran pro-bowlers. in 2002.

3. Andy had a hand in drafting 3 highly rated defensive backs in 2002. They all were rotated into the backfield and took over in 2004 (Super Bowl).

4. Lito Sheppard starred on the Eagles for 7 seasons.

5. 2002 is the only time in following the Eagles for 60 years that I have ever seen them take such an interest in the defensive backfield.

6. The Eagles have subsequently taken several stabs in the draft to improve the position - to no avail.

7. Bradberry has been Godsend, but he is on a 1-year contract agreement.

8. Cornerback is possibly the next highest valued roster position after LT and DE.

9. Going back to my original comment regarding the 2023 draft, after DE, I felt that OT and/or CB were the next priorities.

10. There are numerous reasons why the Eagles have relied on FA and trades to fill holes in the secondary. However, I feel that the best long-term solution is to address this thru the draft.

Except Howie doesn't see it your way. You can site every fact you want, but in "modern times" Howie historically has NOT taken DB's. He took Jones because according to all it was amazing VALUE to get him in round 2. Same way we got Dean in 3. So if you go with history you can assume he won't be drafting any of those this time either unless the value is so unreal he has no other option. Argue  all you want because even Jones was a DUD here and that makes Howie even more gun shy than before. Last DB was Zech in round 4. So unless Howie shocks us all we can assume until then that history repeats unless we have #1 players at every other position
